For the record, I can get dressed and made up and everything in ten minutes flat.

I saw a news article about “Brood 2” of the cicadas, and how if they were laid nose to tail, so to speak, they’d reach from the Earth to the Moon, and then some. :eek: I forget how many, but they were describing the bug population that’s about to hatch in Carl Sagan-esque numbers.
When did amusement parks get so expensive? I was hoping to go to Carowinds and try out their roller coasters before I’m laid out with back surgery. Just to get there, it’s $15.00 to park. They don’t even charge for parking at Great America near San Francisco, which is near the global nexus of expensive parking. For fifteen bucks, they could at least wash the cars.
Then, it’s $57 each to get into the park. On the broad assumption that there’s no sales tax being charged, a day with the roller coasters will cost me $129, and that’s without having any lunch. The last time I was at a park, (about 5 years ago) the in-park Subway shop was charging $12 for what’s ordinarily a $5 footlong, so even eating lightly, we’re probably looking at another $40. <Insert frothing hissy fit smiley here>
I think I’ll figure out some other way to spend $169.

STILL waiting on coworker, even after his boss told him it needed to be done today and after I just asked him to at least give me a copy of what he’s done so far so I can go over it. I do not like him, Sam I Am, I’ll beat him with green eggs and ham! 
Haven’t done that. Did once have a growing teenager yawn and stretch in the front room, sending his fist up into the fan with the same effect. That was the one who did his growing in big bursts. Surprised the heck out of him.

Kinda distracted this morning. I’m taking a week and a half off, with Friday my last day working. Need to clear my desk by then and need to prioritize to do that. Maybe a little chocolate will help me focus.
The cicadas were out in force in ye olde hometowne year before last. I’m told they were of the thirteen year variety. Dang noisy things! Sounded like a buncha diesel engines on idle. Apparently this brood will be spread pretty much all over the east coast. Dont’ think they’ll be around these parts however. BBBobbio if the ugly things don’t scare the crap outta the crappies they could be good bait. At best you’ll do the world a favor by drownin’ some of the creepy, noisy bugs.

I’ve been spending so much time online with all you funny foreigners, I can’t remember how we’re supposed to spell centre any more. I just pick a random variant… I can still spell couluour properly though 
The jobcentres here don’t actually deal with jobs, they just deal with benefit claims, silly paperwork, and rules that change every week. They’re so massively oversubscribed that they just cut out or outsourced all the training and actual assistance in finding a job that they’re supposedly doing, because they don’t have time to do that and process all the paperirk.
I’m very glad I don’t work in one. They are not nice places.
