A Song of Ice and Fire questions/speculation. Spoilers ahoy!

I’ve seen some specific question threads and some speculation threads, but I don’t think my questions are significant enough to warrant a separate thread. Please feel free to add your own questions,or add speculations, et cetera. I’m adding tv stuff here also, because the tv seems to be adding to the story in interesting ways.

For those that insist on wandering into these threads and then complaining about spoilers, you have been duly warned.

I’ve read that GRRM provided an outline for the tv producers, in case the show outpaces book production (a very possible outcome at this point). I have read all five books and the two sample chapters GRRM provided on his site, and am astonished by how much forewarning he packed into GoT.

My questions:

Where the hell is Benjen?
What’s the deal with Gendry?
What is Varys and Illyrio’s deal?
Is the direwolves mirror the owners, has anyone else noticed that Sansa is floating since Lady was murdered? Nym is amassing an vast force of wolves at the neck, could this portend some force that Arya will create? It would be kinda badass for her to ride North with an army of Faceless Men and dire wolves/wolf hybrids.

I’ll take a crack at a few of them.

Serious spoilers follow!

Benjen has either not resurfaced or is now a wight that helped Bran’s party and Sam. Sam named the wight Coldhands. There are reasons that support this theory for Benjen and some that point away from him.

Gendry is still a smith for the brotherhood last I remember. Only GRRM knows if there is more of a plan for him.

Varys claims to have the best interest of the kingdom at heart. He and Illyrio seem to be plotting to bring back the Targaryen ruling family. They first seemed to put some effort into gaining Viserys an army, but were ready to accept Dany instead. They also have another plot with Aegon Targaryen (Rhaegar’s son who the Mountain killed), who appears to be alive and well. Most believe that the Aegon they have is fake.

Non-serious spoilers.
Dany marries Jon, sits down on the throne, and just as Jon leans over her adoringly, one of her dragons blasts them both into cinders. The dragons all coil up around the ashy throne, ushering in a new age of human slavery and burnination. Fade to black.

There’s already a recent thread for this over here!
