I’m dressed - even wearing shoes and socks!! Dishwasher has been emptied and partly refilled, first load of laundry is washing away. So nothing to do but wait for the washer to be done.
I supposed I could pull something out of the freezer for supper…
There are only two furry overlords in my house: Ophelia and Shadow. I’ve had Ophie since she was a kitten but Shadow came to join us when Ophie was about 4 years old. He was a stray so no idea how old he really is but the vet estimates he’s probably 8 or 9 by now.
I’ve almost always had one cat, usually two but never enough to constitute being a Crazy Cat Lady although maybe that is something in my future.
Bleeding finger has finally stopped bleeding, probably because I’ve got no blood left. I did feel decidedly wobbly after hotfooting it up five flights of stairs when I got to work this morning.
Well, if I hadn’t found myself lying on the living room floor at 8:30 pretending to watch a 1949 short about how to act your age while the room spun around, I would have been able to post at midnightish as I had planned. The way it turned out, though…
By the way, have I told you Osama Bin Labmix is the best dog name ever? Because it is.
Feeling much better this morning. My ears still don’t feel right, though. I’m going to skip the errands I was going to run today just to make sure I’m back on all 8 cylinders. Driving while having a dizzy spell like I had last night is the worst idea ever.
My rule is no men or pets live in my house. Fortunately Bob lives at a stable. I don’t consider him a pet though; he’s an extension of myself.
Did I miss what SEP is/was???
Went to a Pampered Chef party yesterday. I swore I wasn’t going to buy anything but ordered a pizza stone. I don’t make pizza often but I can use it for other stuff.
Happy Moonday!
It’s 20 degrees above freezing and looks icky outside.
I’m up, let the pup out and feed him a hand full of treats. He feels ripped off because I didn’t share of my bagel and cream cheese with him.
Today I’ll run up to the post office to mail my returns. I don’t trust leaving them in the mailbox for the mailman to pick up.
I’ll make the rest of the copies I need for the mortgage guy, I’m still waiting for my pay stubs.
Then I’ll organize the mess of paper work and file it away.
I hate clutter, I can’t work in clutter, it’s like an itch.
I tried to download the pups pics to photobucket but it seems to hang up.
I’ll try again later.
I forgot I have another former pet picture online: The Late Great Nyssa of the Baleful Glare. That’s my GoodReads profile picture, in case you didn’t notice.
I miss my cats.
Sunday Evening Post - for those who start the MMP the night before rather than rise with the birds.
Second load of laundry is in the washer, first is in the dryer. It appears we’ve had a weensy bit of rain but not enough to even dampen the pavement completely.
I just found out that the inlaws are coming up for only a long weekend - they’ll arrive on the Firday of Memorial Day weekend and leave the Tuesday after. At least they’re taking the train and not driving for such a short visit - that would be nuts!
I decided to cancel our cruise in October. After shelling out almost $3600 for taxes and having to increase the withholdings from my pension so we don’t get hit again next year, plus the fear that our fridge is going to die soon, plus my continued unemployment, I just can’t see spending a couple of thousand to cover a cruise, parking, pet sitters, and miscellaneous expenses, especially since **FCD **doesn’t really like cruising. I’ll just wait and hope I can do the British Isles cruise with my mom in 2014.
Today is icky. I need chocolate to make it better. Chocolate makes everything better.
If you check the shirt I have on, its for the West Side Cat Shelter first ever motorcycle run and fund raiser. I am a sucker for pets -------- and any shirt that says “Support your local cat house”. I was owned by Sam the Dog, Tailcat, Midnight (hare) and The Governor (a finch). All had what you would call basically long lives; even the finch was around for about 10 years. Sam and Tailcat had to be put down and my heart still breaks thinking about it.
So now I’m with pets like I was with my brothers kids - spoil them rotten and then send them back home. We had Patches the Time Share Cat who would leave her owners hourse every morning and move into ours. After dinner I would let her out, she would stomp up the sidewalk home, and repeat the process the next day. Our of our current “nephews” is a Rot named Baby who looks like he could chew up a Pontiac and spit out the sparkplugs. Around anyone else, he can be a handful ---- for us he’s this big kitten with itchy ears that we watch sometimes when his person has to be somewhere.
I did notice your shirt, Kopek! I almost asked you how I could get one.
For some reason, the fire alarm system is screwed up, and the magnets that hold the fire doors open are not working. That means every time someone comes through the doors, which are right outside my office…SLAM. It’s class change time, which makes it especially annoying. I guess I should be grateful that the alarms are not going off, too. I’m kind of surprised at how badly the continual door slamming is grating on my nerves.
No pets, but I do have two little monkeys!
My two rabbits tried to mug me for grapes, yesterday. They dogged my steps as I walked through the living room and sat down with the bag. They tried to crawl onto the coffee table where I put the grapes. One of them, who normally hates sitting on my lap, even leapt into my lap, sniffed at my mouth to see if I’d been eating any grapes, then stuffed his nose into my hand to see if I was hiding any there. I figured it was turnabout - normally he’ll tolerate sitting in my lap if I’m holding a carrot for him to eat, but he’ll jump down immediately after. This felt like an “OK, make with the goodies and you can have me sitting in your lap” type of negotiation. I did, of course, give in and give them a few each.
Maine Coons?
The kitties. not the MMPers ![]()
Apes, your kids are so cute! That must have been Easter cuz I see the handle of your daughter’s basket.
Sah, your dog is much cuter than I imagined. He (she?) looks rather sturdy also, like he could plow through a wall.
Sah-dog’s suit needs to be taken in - it doesn’t fit very well!
I’ve had some leftovers for lunch and in about 20 minutes, I’ll be done with laundry. Beyond that, I just can’t get motivated. It’s so dreary out there. I did pull some chicken out of the freezer - I need to do something with it for supper. Maybe chickie tenders??
Thanks! yep, Easter before Church.
Eleven. You didn’t read the post very well.
That is a great cat name.
awwwwww (I think I splorted when you posted those the first time)
love the kittehs
kopek doesn’t look anything like I pictured him, and you look like you could be part of my family.
squeeeeeeee! I lurves Sharpeis!
All the critters are fluffy and cute and hugable - except Spaz’s insects and Moooooom’s fish - not that they fit into the same category - fish-pets are cool. creepy crawly pets are not. Sorry, Spaz.
Here are three of the most recent pics of Smokey - but I think you all know her pretty well by now.
Thanks, rosie.
Sah, your dog looks mastiff-ish to me.
I’ve never owned a dog, but I do like dogs, border collies and pitbulls in particular.
He’s a he.
He’s not very agile but he is sturdy.
FCM the vet always teases me that my dog weighs 40 pounds but more than 10 of those pounds is skin.
I had a mastiff, I’ll have to post a pic of him.
