A Spooky & Furry Critter MMP

Since we all spend a lot of time talking about our pets–sahdog, Taz Who Pees On Everything, OYKW (;))–I figured it was time we all showed them off. I’ll start.

I don’t have a pet right now, except for the cave crickets and cellar spiders. (All the spiders are named Juletane and the crickets are all Fred.) But before them, I had a cat. The greatest cat ever: a part-Siamese tuxedo kitty named Peter. Peter’s been dead two years, but he was the best cat in the world. He came when I called him. Now that’s a good cat!

Unfortunately I lost most of my digital photos of Peter due to my computer curse. I have some physical pictures, but that won’t do us much good here, will it? However, thanks to Facebook, I do have one picture of pretty kitty looking enjoying the sun at the house I no longer have a stake in. That’s a braided hemp collar he’s wearing. Peter was a bit of a hippie. (Actually, it was the only collar that didn’t irritate the skin around his neck.)

One day I’ll have another cat, quite possibly another tuxedo kitty. But they won’t be like Peter. Stately Agony Aunt Manor is only a half-mile from Peter’s grave and every now and then I’ll catch a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye. Yes, I’m being haunted by my cat. There are worse ghosts to have.

So what do your pets look like? Time to show off!

First!

Can’t blurf yet, cuz I haven’t gone to bed.

Well, here’s a good one of Gordie

Went to the Canes alumni charity game. One of the guys who paid to play was named Alala. When he scored, the announcer yelled out “OOOO, Alala!”

This is two weeks in a row, if it keeps up, we’ll need to rename to SEP.

It’s so weird not having the pup in the house anymore. Tomorrow is trash day & I was thinking I need to go clean up in the back yard. I caught myself a couple of times going to check the water bowl. It’s amazing how tough it is to break some little habits. On the plus side (I think-) I didn’t make it home on Friday night. Here’s a shot from when we first got him.

I went to the supermarket today; they had a sale, buy 3 Windex refills & save $2 (about 10%). The refill size is 2 liter. Ummm, even if you live in a glass house, isn’t 6 liters pretty much a lifetime supply? Seriously, how long will this stuff keep before it loses it’s potency?

I’ll have to get a pic of my dog out where people can see him.

He’s a weird breed called an Ori-Pei which is a cross between a SharPei and a Pug. His parents we Ori-Peis as were all his grandparents.

The idea with the breed is to get a smaller SharPei that keeps it wrinkles and has a better disposition.

He has a face only a mother could love, kind of looks like a hippo.
He snores and snorts and drools and is only slightly better than a SharPei in disposition.

Our family has two cats and two turtles. One of the cats is my sister’s cat, and one is the family cat.

Here’s a picture of Kokopelli, the family cat. He’s striped and spotted, with four white feet.

Troublemaker.
Get into the box.
I need stamps, folks!

No pets here. Never knew I was allergic to cats, dogs & dust until I moved out of my parents’ house and my eyes stopped itching all the time.

Must post pictures of current cat, birdbrain, and previous cat in a little while.

I don’t have any pets because I’m afraid I won’t be responsible enough. I have a hard enough time taking care of myself (peers at the giant pile of dishes to wash…)

My mom suggested last week that we go to the local swap meet. My parents showed up today and we drove the fair grounds to find no swap meet. Mom had looked at the wrong city. So we drove there (45 minutes to their house, then 45 minutes to Pasedena) to wait in a line of cars of everybody who was trying to get in.

I came home with five new rings (all silver), three new table clothes, several pairs of cufflinks, and a stuffed tiger that’s also a radio! It looks like it’s from the 50s or 60s and I had to have it. It’s stuffed with wood shavings that leak out every time you open the zipper to fiddle with the battery.

I also got some writing done while we were driving, but not as much as I should have done today.

Page one!!! And tomorrow when I’m at work, I’ll actually say something.

I posted thisand thisin the last MMP (or SEP?) thread but I’ll share again for those who may have missed it. That’s my baby, Rika. I found her on a mountain in Oregon, abandoned on an old logging road. Perhaps feral. She was the sweetest kitty from day one though, and has continued to be the absolute best cat anyone could ask for. In fact, I really don’t think I’ll have half a heart to get another cat someday because I think I’ll just be way too disappointed… no one can compare to Rika!

My boy.

Yes, of course, I do have two other dogs… But nobody is fooled as to who’s who.

Subbing this morning at a place that is new to me. Blah. Guess I’d better go find breakfast.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 58 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 83 for the day. Sounds nice.

As Spaz pointed out I don’t have pets except for OYKW. Since he’s mostly housebroken I’ll probably keep him.

Ok that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, ‘tis Monday so irk purtification must commence. Must deal with a PTB today. Sigh. At least tonight is men’s night over to the church house so I have that to look forward to doin’.

Happy Monday Y’all!

So much SQUEEEEEE in one little thread!

Here is a photo I took yesterday of Mosby (the gray one) and Julian (the orange one). Julian is way more huge than is apparent in the photo.

BTW, here’s a photo of our micro-mini-Mumpfest: me on the floor, Sticky and Kopek on the loveseat.

Thank you for visiting FairyChatMenagerie!

I woke up at 5, completely unaided, and I would like to have slept some more, but we know that ain’t gonna happen. So spousal unit has been dispatched to the office, puppeh has been fed, kitteh box has been scooped, all fuzzy critters have been appropriately skritched, and I’ve breakfasted. It’s dreary and overcast, so no laundry will hang out today, so I’ll just do a minimal amount. IF I decide to work outside, I’m just going to gather up some debris and firewood. I’m kinda achy, so I think I’ll take it easy. Plus I need to do some stuff in my studio.

Tomorrow, I’m going to school with my daughter to help her with her measurement test. Last year, she had 3 assistants. This year, it’s just me. The kids have to move among 4 stations and record weights, lengths, temperatures, and (I think) time. Woohoo - all day with 5th graders!!

Thursday and Firday, I’ll be at my mom’s, getting all the plants she’ll let me take, which means next weekend, much planting will ensue. The weekend after that, we’re going to Dewey Beach for some motorcycle thing. rah. At least it’ll be at the beach and I’ll have my car so I can do stuff while they’re motorcycling.

Inlaws are coming to visit at the end of May. They’re taking Amtrak from some place in FL to Union Station in DC. **FCD **is going to drive to Branch Ave metro and meet them at Union Sta, then bring them back. Unfortunately, their train arrives during morning rush hour on a Firday and they get confused enough as it is. They’ll definitely need help getting around. As much of a hassle as it is, it beats worrying about them making the 800+ mile drive - they’re both in their 80s, and I95 is cruel to the best of us!!

I’ve got a bit more caffeinating to do, then I’ll haul the dirties downstairs and start my chores. Yes, retirement is as glamourous as you might have expected!

Happy Monday!

The only picture I have readily shareable is of Ginny, the latest addition to the household – in addition to her, there are Silly the cat, and Mimi the other dog. I’ll see if I can find pictures to upload later.

Doggio, it was definitely Monday when the MMP was started.
… Well, it was Monday here!!

Memorial Day today, Independence Day this evening and tomorrow – y’all may even end up being treated to a Dunkern Psot at some point!

Aw! Cute critters!

Makes me want a kitty- but having two axolotls, four mice and some tropical fish is already sort of stretching the ‘no pets’ rule (plus adding a kitty to that lot is called a ‘food chain’)… I’ll have to keep making do with OJ, the neighbour’s kitty, who likes breaking in.

I don’t have any good pics around at the moment- might try sort some out.

By the way, this thread was so started on monday.

Morning all,

Does one have to have a flickr or photobucket account to show pictures? I has neither. Any other options? I actually do have pics here at work but no way to show them. I has 3 kittehs Jynx (black & white tuxedo, likes to “talk” to you and is in love with my husband), Orion (brown and black maine coon, likes to play fetch and adores doggie jerky treats), and Azazel (orange tabby, likes to talk to himself as he runs around the house and if you pick him up and cuddle him like a baby he turns into a purring pile of goo).

Weekend was good. Went to Costco, powerwashed the house, mowed the lawn, did laundry. We were the height of domesticness (is that a word?).

Work week is eating me up though. I have a major presentation to my boss tomorrow and I do NOT have a warm fuzzy about it. My boss is…um…how to say this…touchy. She could be in a good mood and small mistakes are worthy of a little ridicule, or she could be in a bad mood and no mistakes are worthy of being publically nuked. Could go either way. Co-irker’s contribution to this whole mess has been wishy-washy but he is the lead. He could get more nuked than I but I am still in the firing range. Ugh.
