Looking forward to our long weekend in Ocean City. I did some searching for places to eat and I made a list. Apart from going to eat, we mostly plan to chill in our room or relax in the hot tub. We may drive to Rehoboth just because. It’s just going to be nice to get away.
Howdy again Y’all! We supped, cleanded the kitchen and then the biiiiiiiiiiig trash can was hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Yes, I know tomorrow is a federal holiday. However, trash pickup will be as scheduled, accordin’ to the county website. Now chillage ensues with a possible early(ish) bed time.
MOOOOOOM glad the planned get away will finally come to fruition.
shoe glad GC and you could umm… coordinate your schedules and play laser pointer.
See y’all in the next MMP!
I intended to bake some fish and steam some veg for dinner tonight. But we didn’t have any squash.
So I mixed up some flour, cornmeal, and Old Bay and coated some tilapia, which I fried. And I made mac’n’cheese out of a box that’s been in the cupboard for years.
Cleaned, watched handegg, napped. I dumped the litterbox, but didn’t refill it. ![]()
Having a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, while the sweet N.O.T. and poke tenderloin cook.
Ice cream contains milk, and milk is a breakfast food. And hope Lager feels better tonight.
Yay!
Is that what you wacky kids are calling it these days? ![]()
Just got a text from the foster lady who took my two furry houseguests from last month. Little Miss has been adopted, Tiny’s still not quite big enough for her spay yet. Once she’s fixed, she’s up for adoption. I was quite confident that Little Miss would have no trouble charming an adopter once she settled down a bit, and Tiny’s probable biggest problem is choosing the best candidate to enslave. ![]()
Hurray! Blood can be kinda stubborn at times. I’m glad you are going away for a few days, you really do deserve a break.
That is so good to hear. It’s so hard when one of our critters is injured and we just have to sit back and let them heal.
I didn’t read it with one!!!
Am puzzling out how I’m going to manage for 18 days on the road with only two medium-sized bags.
Go commando? J/K, I couldn’t do that either.
You mentioned wanting a lightweight laptop…have you looked at tablets? I hate using mine for posting or email, but I can use them to check email and to play my games. The big advantage to one when traveling is you won’t be lugging a heavy external battery around with you, they charge with a USB cord.
And I made mac’n’cheese out of a box that’s been in the cupboard for years.
Was the cheeze powder caked up, or still as fresh as chemicals could make it?
Out this way, a common bread brand is Bimbo Bakeries. Yeah, that has always been my reaction too.
I have it on good authority that you can put a loaf of their white bread in the cabinet and forget about it for months and the bread will be as soft and fresh tasting as the day it was bought.
I dumped the litterbox, but didn’t refill it.
(((doggio)))

AWWWW!!! And hurray for you as well. You did a Very Good Thing.
For travel packing, quick-drying underwear and a travel clothesline are my go-to items. A sink stopper is handy as well.
Did you write this with a straight face, young lady?
Yes.
I must be slippin’ in my old age; I genuinely did not realize how that was gonna sound until a bunch of you gutter-minded hooligans pointed it out.

Boy, have you earned it. I hope you both enjoy every sloth-ful minute.
Work was good today. The crew had their collective shit together, and either the customers were less dopey than usual (Friday I was about ready to straight-up slap the next fool) or else I was in an unusually good mood, for some reason.
I enjoy this guy’s company. Damn, almost a year? He was supposed to be a one-night stand, and when I teased him a bit about that last night, he admitted that I was, too.
Now Monkey hops into his lap as soon as he sits down.
I really like that this whole thing is low-key and casual. I just wish our work schedules could align more often. It would be nice to go on an actual ferrealz date-date with him. I brought home a pizza from work yesterday (that we re-heated a few hours later …
) but it would be so nice to go out to eat with someone. I haven’t done that in years; I don’t mind going out alone, but … yeah, a ferrealz date would be nice.

Not caked up at all… but disturbingly dark.
The Macy’s at the mall I went to doesn’t seem to believe in customer service.
Seeing that gripe made me think of on of the classes I had to take during one of my times through DI (You probably took it as well, at a different time) on customer service.
An important point that the instructor made in my instance of that class was about the expected correlation between the prices that a business can charge, and the level of customer service that is to be expected. It’s a major reason why such chains as Nordstrom’s and Macy’s can get away with charging higher prices, than Walmart or Target. You go to the higher-priced chain, you’re not just paying or the merchandise, you’re paying for better customer service as well.
If you went to Macy’s and you received substandard customer service, you should definitely gripe to the company about this, letting them know that at that one store, you did not receive the level of customer service that is expected of a Macy’s.
As far as canned condensed soup, I do cut the dilution by about half (fully diluted is too weak for my taste).
When I eat condensed soup, I usually eat it straight. It seems to me that adding any water to it just means that I have to consume that much more volume to get the same amount of nourishment.
