Well, Mouse is home, and was at 80 percent already He’s clearly not that comfortable, and is changing positions every 3 minutes trying to get so, but I gave him some burger-rice-moosh at 6:30 <Couldn’t wait until 7, like they said; I was gonna have a conniption!> and so far the wee bit of food and water is staying down. They glued him instead of stitches, so no cone of shame for him, unless he goes crazy. I’ll keep an eye on him. Hope he finds a comfy position soon, poor little guy.
I made more meat, mushrooms, and broth to add to my stew, as it had turned solid. Yummy though. But I had been taking it in a bowl just covered in plastic wrap without worrying about it spilling. Won’t happen now.
Don’t feel like doing anything.
Bedtime blurf.
Up, caffeinated ,off to irk.
Yay for Mouse, Tao!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85. Today Fall is actin’ like Spring. Still nice though and windows are still open. Feels good in da cave.
wiki we have the same trash pickup day but do they actually, you know, pick up your trash? I am tempted to call the trash company today and remind ‘em of my address and the fact that there is a biiiiiiiiig brown trash can sittin’ at the road there which means they should empty said biiiiiiiig brown trash can this week unlike last week when they didn’t. Would that be mean? <insert angel smiley face here>
Tao glad Mouse seems to be doin’ ok. Hope the little feller found a comfy position. Give him a skritch from Uncle swampy, ok?
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy says it’s hongry. Then, alas, 'tis an irk day so purtification must commence.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
Right up there with “Mr. Candidate was a practitioner of *nepotism *in his own *office *with his own son!!!”:eek::eek:
We won’t answer the phone if the caller is unidentified, but I’ll occasionally run a search on the numbers on our CallerID - not surprisingly, they’re from political organizations these days. I’m guessing it’s about either the MD casino gambling question or the legalizing gay marriage question. I made my mind up ages ago, so I ain’t listening to anyone’s pitch, TYVM!
Why does the anti-blurf spray smell like an old bottle of Hai Karate?? And who here rememberes Hai Karate?? (That’s today’s geezer test…)
**FCD **and I drove in separately again today. He’s got a meeting on base so he needed the truck - the only vehicle we have that still has a valid base sticker on it. My sticker expired already. Anyway, his meeting might run late and rather than me being stuck here, I can just leave on time. Of course, since we have both cars, it guarantees that he’ll be done plenty early. Oh well…
Happy Wednesday, all!!
Blurf.
I can haz spray? Even if it smells like Hai Karate?
Yes you are, you’re nekkid under your clothes!
Blurf.
The man came and fixed the beepy thing! Yaay!
Also, he woke me up, so this morning the customary oversleeping did not happen, making me almost productive! I’ve already phoned the doctor to order a prescription, which I’ve been putting off for ages and sorted out the drain in the bath and the sink, and now the bath is actually draining properly for the first time in two years, and it’s still only the same time as I woke up yesterday. Go me!
Today, I shall mostly be turning things into soup.
Not the puppy! No!!! :p;)
I have nothing good to say today, so I’ll just say BLURF.
Should I consider it a miracle that it only took twenty minutes for this stoopid irk computer to fully boot up? Stoopid Lotus Notes and Chatter. They’re the cause. They are banes of my existense! Banes, I say!
Here endeth the whine. Now where is that cheese.
ETA: First on four!
Up early today.
I woke up and wanted to go back to sleep but I noticed from the lack of light creeping in around the door that sah-boy was over sleeping so I got up to get him up.
irk at 8:30 today, then off to buy headphones and walk the hell pup. The owners bought her a spiked collar and I swear she’s gonna put an eye out if she doesn’t learn to sit still.
damn my life is boring
I am reminded of the Civil War general whose last words were, “They couldn’t hit an elephant at this dis”
Blurf.
Tried to make it to work early today and failed even though I got up early.
Do they make you use Symphony, too, instead of Office? That was always fun at IBM, when our clients couldn’t open the reports we sent them, even if we saved them as Office files.
Oh, and, blurf.
Sure hope I get paid soon so I can go buy some insulin and stuff.
Today is our trash day too! And last week they were so late with it that I actually called an left a message with them. Of course, as soon as I hung up the phone they came by, lol.
Mouse is Mouse, not too licky with the wound, doing alright. We ALL slept like the dead last night, and this morning was hard to wake up for everyone.
So I’m caffeinatin’, then putting in apps and taking typing tests for a job that doesn’t exist yet and probably won’t until after I leave the state, but gotta keep all the options open just in case.
Also renewed the driver’s license, since it’s easier to renew here than get a new one in Idaho.
Question, in case anyone knows for sure: I’m going to be working in Idaho, but my primary residence, as far as I will be concerned, shall still be in California. Can Idaho give me a ticket for not getting my license there within the 30 or 60 day window? How can I prove that I’m not living in Idaho, just working? I don’t even want to think about taxes, blurf.
Tao I would think as long as you can prove your legal address is in CA you’d be fine. Glad Mouse is doin’ good.
Ethyl fortunately I do have Office. Not the latest, mind you, but still it’s Office. I just don’t understand the Lotus Notes thing at all. It’s almost like TPTB are sayin’, “By OG we bought this twenty-fine years ago when it was the thing and if’n it was good enough then, it’s good enough now!” I hates it. Hates it, I say!
Chikin sallit for N.O.L. YUM! Beastloaf, cabbage, mac & cheese and cornbread for dindin tonight. Double YUM!
Ok, gonna go snoop around a bit and then back to irk.
Laterz!
I don’t know what it is about the women who work on this floor - I think there are maybe 6 of us. In the ladies’ room, there are 4 - count 'em 4 - spray cans of air freshener as well as a stickup on the outside of one of the stalls. I can honestly say that in the 2 months I’ve been here, I’ve never felt like that room needed any kind of spray. Honestly, I just wish the exhaust fan worked because the ventilation is minimal and it gets really hot sometimes.
And then there are the cutesy little signs telling us how to wash our hands… I feel like I’m trapped in kindergarten!
****swampy - we must have some sort of meal synchronicity going on - I’m planning meatloaf and cabbage for tomorrow! And chickie and dumplins tonight!
MOOOOOOM we will be in synch tomorrow night as I intend for tonight’s leftovers to be tomorrow’s dindin. Firday will be pizza night cause I want some pizza and that’s reason enough.
Yesterday was moderately productive. Took back CRV containers, made $11.85. Went over to job-hunting-related government office (not sure if it’s city, county, or state level, not sure I care that much), signed up with them and signed up for the Windows 7/Office 2010 class (I’m familiar with older versions of both), am planning to attend orientation class and get assigned a coach on Tuesday, got a typing certification (65wpm, 100% accuracy!). Got home, had lunch, got phone and battery booster charged up, headed out to my church’s job-hunting-helping facility (other end of town, traveling by public transit. Slow), got my online profile with them sorted out (wasn’t sure how to fill in some stuff the website wanted, got help with that), got signed up for the resume-writing workshop tomorrow. Takeout shrimp fried rice for dinner.
Today’s home stuff, since I really need that rewritten resume to get more job-search stuff underway. One load of laundry has been through the washer, needs to move to the dryer. Also gotta deal with dishes and such. Reminds me, before DH needs to go to work would be a good time to go get cat litter, since Her Majesty’s box needs a dump/scrub/refill cycle.
