A Tale of Two Turtles MMP

Morning, all. It’s another lovely, sunny morning here, cool but just warm enough to open up the house and enjoy the fresh air, while a bit bundled here at my desk cause otherwise I get kinda chilly just sitting here in the breeze. Anyway, hopefully today the sunshine will improve my mood, unlike yesterday, when it just made me want to go crawl in bed and pull the covers over my head.

Anyway, I’ve got mountains of work to get done over the next few days, so at least I know what I’ll be doing. And if I don’t do that, I’ve also got mountains of housework, poop patrol in the yard so Papa Tigs can mow, and other similarly exciting chores. I know, I know, you all wish you had my thrilling and exciting life.

Off to at least enjoy the fresh air whilst I work. That’s the nice part about working at home, I can have fresh air whenever I want it (and, of course, mother nature is cooperating). It does help. Plus I have an absolutely beautifully easy job to work on right now, which has the added bonus of being long – usually the good ones are far, far too short – so it does make it nicely non-stressful.

Anyway, happy Palm Sunday to those who care, and happy just plain ol’ Sunday to the rest of us. Don’t everybody have too much fun!

Whew again. Daughter and I just raked the leaves away from the back and out of the front garden. I mulched and dumped them all. Once I cool off, we’re heading to the grocery and pharmacy.

And we’re being moved in the marina. The manager doesn’t like how tight we were in so he’s moving us to the other side where the slips are wider. And deeper, so that’s good. Unfortunately, it’s not as sheltered, but we can deal. So I guess we’ll be moving on Weds, since it’s supposed to rain on Mon and Tues and I’m not going down there today.

Weather is loverly - windows are open and the cats are enjoying the windowsills. Spring has sprung. yay!

These two are just too adorable for words…

Awwwwww…kitties!

Happy Birthday, HRH! (How can she be 2!!!)

I, too, spent time in the garden (also did laundry - yay!). Went out and got additional seed-starting supplies. Broke down and bought some peat pots because I have LOTS of seeds to start. Way too many to make paper pots for this year. But next year I’ll make them in advance so that they’re waiting for the right moment. Still, I’ve made over 50 of them and will probably make a few more for veggies that don’t transplant well.

Also bought (and planted) two more little itty-bitty evergreens. And some rosemary and some bunching onions, which, apparently, are actually scallions. They’re supposed to be hardy in zones 6-9. I think I can probably find a sheltered spot in my garden that will pretend to be zone 6. We’ll see how that works out.

Just had din-din (Lean Cuisine Turkey with cornbread stuffing and apples, also some peas). Explain to me why I bother buying meals like that? I could easily freeze a tastier version of the very same thing. :smack: I’m thinking of going to the ice cream shop for dessert.

I’ll be planting more seeds momentarily. Anyone want to come over and help?

Back later with the new MMP.

I have finished it. The third chapter of my thesis. The one that’s taken four rewrites to finish. I have finished it.

Now on to conclusion/revisionland!

Wooooot! Congratulations! You’re almost there…

Blurf.

I am filled to the gills with nummy Eyetalian food. We actually were hoping to get some Cuban-style tapas from one of the neighbourhood joints (mostly because The Boy was jonesing for a mojito), but sadly they were closed when we arrived. So instead we settled for the uber-casual-yet-funkified Eyetalian restaurant down the block, which is equally delicious but sadly lacking in mojitos.

Oh well… the mint is already starting to send up little exploratory sprouts, so it won’t be long before it’s mojito season at Casa Mahna.

More trekking to suburbia tomorrow. I hope the LAN gods will be kind, and will bring unto me a functional, available port in every meeting room I visit. Offerings shall be made in the form of burning solder and incense.

Also, I have made rhubarb curd, and it is good. Very good. OMG-I-want-to-drink-a-glass-of-this good. It shall take a lot of willpower to resist it until Wednesday night.

Congrats on finally kicking that chapter’s ass, Spaz.

gt, 50 pots isn’t enough? Here I was thinking I was being excessive with my twelve seedlings… but apparently, that’s small potatoes compared to you.

Moooooom, that’s a whole lotta squeee right there. I wish mine would do that… but usually it lasts about 10 seconds before Ariel starts whomping on Morgan.

Yeah, I’m being kinda ambitious, Muppet. Hopefully it will pay off.

The new MMP is over here!

Off to bed.
