A Tale of Two Turtles MMP

First - huzzah for Taterson!!! Now you can live a life of leisure and let him support you for a change, right Taters?

We’re back from a long trek north. We left about 7-ish, stopped for breakfast, then ran by Lowe’s to get a chainsaw blade. Then we went to Mom’s and **FCD **proved to be the good son-on-law. He repaired the pipe to one of the outdoor faucets, fixed her tractor (it only turned right - a stick was jammed into the stearing gears), cleared the drain in the powder room (Mom’s sister cleaned her hairbrush in the sink… long story) and finished screwing in a couple of screws that another SIL left partly out. I did a few computer things for her - no biggies, but stuff that stymied her. Then we had lunch, and she sent us home with an entire pound cake - almost a 2-pound cake!!

Traffic out of Baltimore was horrid, and I don’t know why. Enroute to the Harbor Tunnel, there were several times we just sat in the interstate. No evidence of accidents - just stoopit people on the road, I guess. Still, we’re home. The kids will get back later today. The critters have been fed. I opened some windows for a little while - it was stuffy in here.

Incidentally, tarra, I keep meaning to tell you - as we pass thru Annapolis on Rt 2, there’s a Tarragon Lane. If I ever have a camera with me, I’ll take a pic for you!

My FIL just called - he needs some good thoughts - he’s going to be having some back surgery. Apparently he’s got a disk that’s squishing against a nerve bundle, causing all sorts of pain down his right leg. He’s very nervous about it - **FCD **is trying to convince him to have it done in Balto by our favorite surgeon. Doubt that he will, but still…

That’s about it for now. I was hoping to do some laundry today, but it ain’t gonna happen. I’m going to knit and relax. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and near 70, and I’m finally going to get out into the yard and muck about in my garden and stuff. So yay.

I b’lieve spring may finally have arrived…

gt, you don’t know the half of it. The building I was working in was originally owned by a company that specialised in network solutions back in the golden days of the dot coms, and it was intended to be a showplace of all things high-tech when they built it in the 90s… the fact that most rooms only have six LAN ports is downright irresponsible!

Hurray for Taterson! He must have knocked their socks off but good, to get the call so quickly.

I’s gonna go make a pot of chili now. Toodeloo!

Pound cake with a scoop of 'niller ice cream and some strawberries on top is a thing good enough to make ya want to leave home without a bag.

Da bear is fed. YAY! I’m all happy and full now. It was touch and go for a while. I felt faint from the hunger but I made it. I knew y’all were worried.

Yay for Taterson’s employment!

That’s rather amusing, Muppet. Possibly ironic, even.

Went out to get compost and potting soil. Stopped at Lowe’s to get a cart/wheelbarrow and found that they had some nice little evergreens for $10. Bought two and planted them and will probably buy one more tomorrow.

Cleaned out more beds and am now going to fold up some little pots and plant seeds. Started to type weeds. Heh.

Spartans are just barely ahead at the half. Eeeeep.

Off in search of food, then more garden-y stuff.

GT

Bah! Now I’m jonesing.

Dittos for TaterSon.

Odd, sucky weekend so far.

  • Emergency brake job on the van, $200.

  • Bickerfest while doing groceries.

  • A mile long honeydo list that has nothing to do with Vunderlair maintenance.

  • A Charley Foxtrot WRT rescue squad scheduling that had me booked for today, when I signed up for tonight.

  • NO SATURDAY NAP!!!

Howdy, all. I’m here. Today, that is all. My get up ‘n’ go didn’t even show up in the first place, let alone got up and went. I shall continue to veg. Hugs, yays, boos, as appropriate. SMOOCH!

Wow…that was suspenseful! I only watched the second half of the game, but that was quite enough. UConn came awfully close, but the Spartans won!!! **Coooooooollll! ** In Detroit. Even better. My brother is going to be in Detroit on business on Monday and will be at the game. Having it be the Spartans just adds to the awesome. (We grew up a few blocks from the campus and have degrees from there and were in school there in 1979 when the Spartans last won the national championship, so Spartan basketball is close to our hearts…) If you’re wondering what I’m going on about…here’s a story.

FCM, there is a reason I always wait until 10PM or so to leave UMBC for home. I live in Bel Air, so I get to take 95 North through Baltimore when I make the trip, and at any other time of the day there’s a real chance of traffic stagnation.

I did somehomework today. i have to do more. Tomorrow I study. Blech. I feel off atm, not sure if I’m sick or what. I did, however, make two quarts of Lemonade (from concentrate) and two quarts of Iced Tea (homebrewed) and combined them into a gallon jug of Arnold Palmer. Soooooooooooooo tasty!

My glasses need repaired or replaced. Stoopit Spectera labs drilled the holes which mount the eyepieces to the lenses in some manner that was not correct and so they sit funny on my face and it’s utterly infuriating. If you don’t wear glasses you will never understand. I’ll send 'em out for repairs when I go home to have my tooth pulled.

Bel Air - no kidding? My mom lives near Upper Crossroads - 152 and 165, and going from 95 to her place, I cross Belair Rd.

I grew up in Towson/Parkville (they moved to post office line so we started in Towson but ended up in Parkville) off Loch Raven and Putty Hill. But I left home in '73, and my folks moved to the boonies in '79. I know you don’t care, but at least nod and smile politely…

Off to beddie-bye for me. I’m pooped. Sweet dreams, all!

MWAH!!

WOOOOOO!!! Canes are in the playoff!!! :D[sup]GOOGOLPLEX[/sup]
WOOOO!!! for taterson!!!

So, I’ve planted sweet alyssum and tomatoes. Tomorrow, it’ll be cool weather veggies outside. Just in time for snow.

And now I’m off to bed. Happy Saturday night everyone!

GT

Up early, despite staying up late last night… <yawn>

**FCD **is going to futz on the boat today, and I’m getting the kids to give me a few hours dealing with the downed trees. Did I mention that my lumberjack sweetie downed another one yesterday? Smaller and dead, but still a substantial tree… Anyway, he’s cut up most of 3 of them. But without the van, we can’t move the trailer around easily, so we’ll just make stacks for easier loading once we get the van back. And if I have time and energy, I’ll do some planting.

Meanwhile, the critters have been tended to. I’m caffeinating, and I’m getting caught up on the funnies and the news. I’m still tired, but since I have to be up at 5 tomorrow, I don’t want to sleep in too much today. This working-for-a-living stuff gets old after a while… :stuck_out_tongue:

Good morning, anyway. <yawn>

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. This is my last Sunday to work. YAY!!!

Also it’s Palm Sunday and brunch Sunday at church. I made a ‘nanner puddin’ and a gallon of tea to take. That sounds church lady don’t it!

Ok, need more caffiene and some brekkies.

Y’all be good! See ya in the next MMP. Who’s got it btw?

Later Y’all!

Morning. I’m caffeinating, Gordie is Konging, my ears hurt. Off to work.

I’m going to get us started, swampy. Probably tonight.

Up, need to get ready and off to church to make sure the garden is presentable.

Happy Sunday everyone!

GT

blurf

that is all, carry on.

Evenin’ all. My favourite thing to do with pound cake is soak it in lemon syrup and serve it up with raspberry sorbet! Nom nom nom!

Tomorrow is HRH’s second birthday. I can’t believe my baby will be 2 years old tomorrow!

Good morning! I’m up and waiting for the coffee to finish brewing.

The play we saw last night, *Into the Woods, * was very good. It’s a musical. The woman who played the witch was absolutely awsome. It was obvious she relished her role and she played it well. I really enjoyed watching her. Most of the actors/actresses had wonderful singing voices as well.

To be honest, I think I enjoyed *Nunsense * more, but all the same I still had a great time. We went to dinner first. We met some friends at the restaurant and had dinner together and then proceeded to the play.

I’m really hoping I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything today. I just want to chill.

Whew. Just finished round one of yard work. I got the chain saw going, and I hacked up the bigger branches so they can be loaded into the trailer. We piled the branch hunks, then daughter and I loaded the hunks of trunk into the wagon and hauled them to the trailer. I decided rather than try to move the pile of branches, we’ll wait till the van comes back, then drag the trailer to the pile. Maybe Tues or Weds.

I’m taking a break. My back aches - wielding a chain saw is hard work. Later, I’ll go rake and suck up the last of the leaves. But for now, we’re watching Mythbusters and chilling. Plus we need lunch. What to have… what to have…?
