Just because it ain’t merged yet.
Howdy Y’all! I did some errands, went to the liberry, and have dusted and vacuumed da cave. I think that’s enough for a while. One must not overdo it after all.
ruble, if you think that Luterans don’t do any spice, you obviously haven’t gone bar hopping in Wisconsin.
swampy, I do the White Lily self rising cornmeal too. Have for years.
Happy birthday Gordie!
Nava, I have to do simple powerpoints everyday and more complicated ones a few times a year.
I had online access to my W2 at the end of January and the hard copy was in the mailbox on the first of February. If I wait until the end of this month, the tax bus will be here at irk and will do them for me free of charge. Like ruble, I tend to keep withholding down so that the Unc doesn’t get an interest free loan.
The party last night was a good one. I was in the room that was jamming (two acoustic guitars, a piano, a mandolin, an electric guitar, pennywhistle, bodhran, tambourine and moraccas). I wound up doing percussion and singing. We only poked our heads into the room with the bigscreen at [del]commercial time[/del] the end of quarters and halftime to check the score, show and commercials.
They have bars in Wisconsin?
Merged the two threads.
My goal every year is to be within $100 of what I owe, but our earnings have been all over the place, what with my working, then not working, then working and **FCD **retiring, then unretiring, then being off for surgery…
Any refund is a nice surprise. Owing more than was withheld does not make me very happy…
I finished spiffin’ da cave. Go Me!
I want this.
The pressure regulator failed on our water. It is 110 PSI.
The Church People or the kid raising band trip money knocks on the door, and I turm on the hose. I can see it now, rising from the shrubbery, spraying the miscreants with 110 PSI hydrogen hydroxide.
Home, fed, and about to clean the ashes from the pellet stove. It burned out this afternoon and since it’s still warm-ish (got up to low 60s today) I’ll be able to de-ash it before it gets too cold outside. So yay.
Then I can finish our taxes. rah.
I’ve been to Wisconsin, and as far as I can remember, anything with a roof over it was able to sell liquor. Them folks drank me under the table.
We’re not ready for taxes yet. I still need to go upstairs (where MY computer lives) and bring Quickbooks up to date. Then, sometime in April, Wifey will do her Sched. C spreadsheets (she’s a real estate broker) and file for an extension, and then take everything to some overpriced accountants to do. We pay every year. I don’t wanna talk about it.
I understand there was some kind of upset of some kind of game last night. I don’t care. I don’t watch the news anymore, except local news, and the weather report. I’m much more interested in the bank robbery last week at the bank 2 blocks from our house, which they didn’t report on at all, than the incoherent goings on in D.C. And since that’s what they choose to report. I turn my attention elsewhere.
Whew! I got through those last two paragraphs without cursing. (out loud)
I’m tired this morning. Let me tell you about Dorkie the Yorkie (not his real name).
We acquired this pup from Wifey’s sister a couple of years ago when he was 8 or 10 months old. We don’t know what his life was like before we took him, but BIL hated him, so it wasn’t all tea parties and roses. Anyway, he has ‘attacks’. We don’t know if they are anxiety attacks or something is actually hurting him. What he does is shiver, pant a lot, and try to climb up onto my head and shoulders, and squirm. This can go on for hours. I took him to the vet in the middle of one of these attacks and they couldn’t find anything physically wrong with him. So I just try to hold him, and end up with puncture wounds from his claws and a few bruises, but I really feel for the little guy.
Anyway, he had one of his ‘attacks’ in the middle of the night last night. Since Wifey had an early appointment this morning and needed her sleep, I tried to keep him from trying to sit on her head while she was sleeping from about 4 until 5, after which I ended up sitting in the recliner in the living room from 5 am until Wifey got up at 7:30. He settled down about 8:30 or so and I went back to bed for a bit, but it was a tiring morning.

I want this.

At 110 PSI, that could be more of a flying grenade. :dubious:
Later.
Just got a call from the credit union. My taxes are already done.
Yes, they are stupidly simple. I just overthink it and give myself a migraine every time I try to do it myself.
Now it’s Guinness time!
Bumba check out these Comfort Zone Adaptil Collars. My mom has a Malinois that has been having the exact same kind of problem that you are describing. She pants and shivers, she lost weight. She whines, she hides. She won’t go into parts of the house. The vet put her on Prozac and Xanax and some other anti-anxiety med. She would wear a Thundershirt. Like your dog, this could go on for hours, or even days (poor thing). Finally, a month ago, my mom got this collar. It worked. It’s got a calming pheromone. It is really amazing the difference it makes. I was at my mom’s house the week it was wearing out (they last about a month) and we had to switch to a new one. You could see her behaviors returning to the old, and then we switched it during a heavy rainstorm, while she was panicking, and she was better within 30 minutes. They also have sprays and other products that we haven’t tried, but I can attest that the collar is really amazing with my mom’s anxiety-ridden dog.
Here in Orygun, where the weather can’t make up its mind, in a 60 minute period we had: bright sunshine, hail, snow, pouring rain, overcast with no rain, and back to sun. I think it’s raining again now. The radar shows snow and rain all around us.
Off to pick up glasses for the family. 'Beamer gets glasses for the first time. He really doesn’t want to wear them, but he gets headaches all the time now, so he needs them. No more putting it off. We’ll see how this goes.
The bottom line on our taxes is - we gotta write 2 checks - one to feds and one to state. So we’ve got to change our withholdings. Dammit.
On the other hand, I can take my time and not file right away since I’m not giving them my money before I absolutely have to. Dammit.
Yes! Yes!
Dindin has been ingested and the kitchen is clean. All is well. Tomorrow I shall slow roast a beef brisket with N.O.T., carrots, parsnips, turnips, and onions. This will be one fine brisket when it’s done. Haven’t done this in a while so 'tis time. For now, however, it’s chill time.
Yes, yes!
Sorry, I’m thinking about the water hand grenade a shall get for my birthday.
Parsnips and turnips, I never cooked those with a roast. Perhaps I shall try it. Since I am being inventive, I may include Brussels sprouts. Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) brought some home yesterday. Perhaps I’ll steam them and make Hollandaise sauce instead.
bumba, one of my sister’s rescued chihuahuas always had a fear of men. He was ~7 years old when rescued and showed signs of abuse when checked out by the vet. At 2.75 lbs, he used to think he was Cujo. He’s calmed down a little, but some of that’s age (he’s ~19 now). Good on you for having the patience with Dorkie.
WI-WS is a bit different from MN-ELCA. Their taste-buds are ten minutes into the future; it’s their theology that is still 1500s!
Lots and lots! But they tend to be cheesy little places.
That isn’t a pun, it is a vile clench.
We have ways of dealing with such people.
:dubious:
We are working on bluetooth instead of the coiled phone cable, but never mind.
Westinghouse!
Megablurf.
Breakfast before 3am? Oh how I haven’t missed you.
At least this is for something which will be fun when I get there, rather than irk, but this is still a time of day which should not be seen from this direction.
Have a good week all!
