A thread for Rudy {Rudy Giuliani}

About time:

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who represented former President Donald Trump in his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, has been disbarred from practicing law in the District of Columbia, a local appeals court ruled Thursday.

Giuliani’s law license in the District of Columbia had been temporarily suspended since the summer 2021, but the one-page decision from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals orders the former federal prosecutor to be disbarred. Records show Giuliani was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 1976.

I have seen Rudy now being referred to as “disbarred lawyer”, including on his Wikipedia page. Quite nice.

There are a lot of shady lawyers. Relatively few get disbarred. It’s a disgrace (and well earned)

You know who else was a disbarred lawyer? Fred Phelps (of the Westboro Baptist “Church”). Just hope Rudy doesn’t get any ideas for another career path.

He’s in a cult now…

And despite his history is no longer a dynamic leader type.

I just want to see him as a skid row bum dyinig in a gutter this winter.

[ note, this post has been entirely re-written at the last moment, at great expense!]

I sympathize @LSLGuy - I really do. But the sad part is, those with any degree of real wealth are protected by the laws better than those with far less to lose.

BUT … all the things I was going to say aren’t appropriate for this P&E thread, so I posted them in the “Way more than you wanted to know…” Rudy Pit thread. Just saying that we save a mod some work!

:wink:

You’re right. I overdid that for this forum. Oops and apologies to one and all.

Here’s a Forbes article that gives a run-down of all the Trump lawyers who are facing discipline, civil suits, and / or criminal charges.

It’s not paywalled, but Forbes only gives 4 freebies a month, so if you’ve already used that up, you’ll have to wait.

We don’t have threads for each lawyer, so I thought I’d post it here for general background info.

And a sad article from Rudy’s daughter;

Very sad. I often forget the personal aspect of such circumstances. He’s somebody’s dad. Somebody who is ashamed and sad and still loves him. Makes her endorsement all the more powerful.

Blocked by membership pop-up.

Dépends how many articles you read in a month. I think that was my last one for a while.

But if I haven’t read Vanity Fair in ages, then I’m scratching my head here.

That was a very powerful and well-written article; thanks for sharing.

@Guest-starring_Id here’s an article with a number of quotes from the Vanity Fair article:

He’s son is a Trumper. Does that make you feel better or worse?

It makes me feel worse for her, anyway.

For her? I guess worse. The son can go fuck himself.

Thank-you.
Bringing to mind Mary Trump - another sane person inveighing against a monster that she has close ties to.
