This. Mueller is as straight an arrow as they come, but at some point he will put country above everything and sleep well that night knowing he did the right thing.
Well done.
Waaay too techie for the Pres to understand.
The NY Times op-edis jaw-dropping.
Not just for the content.
No, it’s jaw-dropping for the craptastic amount of moral gymnastics the writer is going through trying to convince themselves that they’re not really the bad guys, they’re the good guys!
FFS. Yeah, you’re a real fucking hero. If you think he’s incompetent, you do what you can to get him out for the good of the country.
But you don’t really think that. You think he’s just inconvenient. Overall, you’re happy because you think under him, the country is ‘safer and more prosperous’.
Don’t know who the author is, but fuck him or her. Fucking coward.
Giuliani has said stuff like that before, but I don’t think it’s even clear that Mueller will definitely be issuing a “report.”
He could just indict all the other co-conspirators and include the information that would go in a report.
Yeah, that’s pretty close to my feelings about this.
If true, this is probably the dumbest thing ever said by one of Trump’s minions, and that is saying a hell of a lot.
(Do you youngsters still know the story of Brer Rabbit and the Briar Patch? Or am I dating myself just to remember it?)
Anyway, I wonder if Robert Mueller can use his “fear of the briar patch” into luring Trump into giving a deposition.
“Oh, we’re just offering to interview Trump as a formality. I sure hope the President does NOT agree to our taking a deposition. With his knowledge he’d run circles around our attorneys. Our charges would mostly evaporate. We hear Trump’s silly lawyers are advising him against testifying and we are grateful for that. The last thing we want is for this charismatic leader to appear before the Grand Jury and expose to them how utterly flimsy our case is.”
“Don’t force me into the briar patch, Mr. President; please don’t.”
My favorite read on the subject so far – from the subject himself!
the really real resistance
That’s excellent!
It would work on Trump; he’s already given indications that he believes that’s the way a deposition would go.
But Mueller would never agree to play it that way. Too straight-arrow. Which is probably for the good—but it certainly would be satisfying to many of us to see Trump fall for that simple ploy.
(bolding mine)
Corsi is also the Washington DC correspondent for Alex Jones’ Infowars and has occasionally had White House Press Corps credentials.
He’s also a major booster and “analyst” of the QAnon conspiracy cult.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones gets dragged into this. I expect he’s funded directly from Russia. Their can’t be that many people buying his taint wipes.
*God has smiled upon you this day
The fate of the nation in your hands
And blessed all the children be
Who fight with all our bravery
Till only the righteous stand
You see the distant flames
They bellow in the night
You fight in all our names
For what we know is right
But when you all get shot
And cannot carry on
Though you die, La Resistance lives on…*
Blame Mexico! Blame Mexico!
Fuck this “I will write stuff (or maybe not)” and the “I will set the rules” bullshit. And fuck both Trump and Giuliani.
Meuller should subpoena the assclown and put him in his place.
Then he should start investigating Giuliani, who has not yet registered as a foreign agent, despite receiving a nice little bit of money from Romania.
Giuliani sent a letter in August to Romania’s president attacking an anti-corruption campaign there. Giuliani has acknowledged he was paid to send the letter by a firm run by former FBI director Louis Freeh, who represents one or more wealthy Romanians investigated under the campaign. (Freeh is not registered as a foreign agent.)
Giuliani’s “numerous foreign clients and ongoing communications with senior U.S. government officials,” including President Trump. Giuliani has not ended his work for foreign governments, nor has he fully disclosed his client list
Oh, they’re bad guys alright. Note: The Op-Ed didn’t come out until after Woodward’s book, and it does not tell us anything we didn’t already know. It is a weak attempt at CYA, by someone who was part and parcel in the ongoing shit show.
I hope so! File the indictments and arrest warrants, list all the charges, and then tell the Orangutan “Here’s your fucking report”
Giuliani is pretty fucking stupid. He’d be my lawyer, if I wanted to get the death penalty for jaywalking.
Mueller has subpoenaed Jerome Corsi. Sounds like they’re digging down into Roger Stone.
George Papadopoulos, Trump Campaign Adviser, Is Sentenced to 14 Days in Jail
One hopes this is a harbinger of bigger things to come.
