You know, I remember election night so well. It was like finding out you’d just married a serial killer by mistake. I felt so sick.
But something stood out to me as I watched the Trump crew mill around on stage as the election was called for them. Melania’s outfit looked like something you’d wear to be comfortable on the flight home to New York. The venue was practically anti-Trump: No tasteless gold or red, not enough cheap-looking glitz. Trump looked like a pole-axed cow. He clearly wasn’t expecting to win.
In that moment, I had a notion that he was –> <– this close to saying, “Just kidding!! This was fun, but I’m stepping aside in favor of my new bestie, Mike Pence!!” I honestly would not have been surprised if that happened.
Bet he wishes he had, now.

As I pointed out in the IMHO Tweet thread, the Atlantic pointed out that a new player entered the world of Trump tweets. Just by chance, I’m sure, it happened to be the DOJ lawyer who signed the Manafort submission today.
Un-fucking-believable.
I read that, and I thought to myself, “That jasg is a clever dick.”
And before you get all het up about the characterization, my late Kiwi/Aussie husband explained to me that this is a high compliment in Down Under Speak.

Judging by the SDNY filing, my reading is basically that they believe Cohen to have been part of a number of crimes that either they don’t know about or that he thinks they don’t know about, and so he sought a guilty plea rather than a cooperation agreement, so that he could get leniency on the crimes they were charging, while having no obligation to tell them about the crimes they weren’t charging. As such, they are unimpressed and recommend slapping him around a fair amount regardless of the help he has provided.
The President is now officially an unindicted co-conspirator in a crime which brought 5-7 years on his 26-year confidant and attorney. I think that, according to the current rule set, he has maxed out his ability to level up to actual Indicted Co-conspirator for now.
Not Fox News, but Tucker Carlson is turning on Trump:

And yet somehow, Tucker-Tucker-Vile Goat Fucker can’t bring himself to say these truths to his own audience. Only to the Swiss.
He and Hannity are the most despicable and cynical of ideologues.
Don’t forget that Cohen pleaded to several other crimes. The tax and bank fraud carry bigger penalties than the campaign financing violations he shares with Trump.
I imagine he turned on Trump for the same reason Coulter did: the white supremacist agenda is not proceeding apace.
