I guess we’ll see. This is the first time I’ve seen any official reporting on this from a reputable source, however.
I call BS on that. Every 6 weeks or so a lawyer on Trump’s side floats the idea that Mueller is “wrapping up” the report. The NBC story has the same vague sourcing that all of the other stories had*.
*Except for those times Rudy G would float this, but that boy cray.
The one thing we can be sure of is that Mueller’s team doesn’t leak. So anyone who claims to know something probably doesn’t.
I put a lot more stock in predictions made by Pete Williams and Ken Dilanian, who are well connected and generally cautious in making such predictions. Dilanian in particular expressed surprise that Mueller might wrap up so soon, but he is persuaded it is a potential based on what his sources have shared.
Obviously YMMV.

Also, just because Mueller is finishing his report doesn’t mean other federal investigators are finishing up theirs.
I would be willing to believe that there are investigations that he is wrapping up, but not that he is in entirety wrapping up.

I should have been more precise. The reporting indicates Mueller will be issuing a report by mid-February. I agree the investigations that flowed from his work will go on for many months, even years, past Mueller’s initial investigation. Possibly even decades.
The individuals who reported this out are not given to breathless exhortations of imminent Mueller findings, and they have good reputations to protect. Not Giuliani-esque.
As I said, we’ll see.
I stumbled across a YouTube video where two guys talk about the Mandela effect wherein many people believe something that is not true. After presenting a number of them of little consequence (Whether Ed McMahon worked for Publishers Clearing House and did Rodin’s The Thinker had his hand on his chin or brow to name two) one of them had a “theory” (He meant hypothesis) that there are multiple universes with slightly different timelines and the barriers between them are weakening.
I wish it was true. I’d move to one where little Donnie Two-scoops was strangled in his crib in a heartbeat.
Yeah but it’s one thing for officials in Trump’s campaign, family, transition and administration to be in cahoots with Russia. This is about the DOJ while Obama was president. That’s a huge difference and also one that makes no sense if I am reading it right.
