I’d make a joke about Trump before Thanksgiving dinner telling his family to go around the table and say thanks for his greatness, but he actually made his CABINET do that, so actually it’s not a joke at all.

Oh, yeh, that episode, even after the tsumani of other weirdness, incompetence and evil that’s come out of this administration – that episode still stands out to me as bizarre and disturbing. Not only that he demanded it, but that every damn one of them fought to out lickspittle the others, and that the whole thing was staged for the cameras. I’m left groping for words to express the creepy pathology of it.

Flynn’s been trying to work a deal since this past March. Y’all remember his offer to Congress to come tell them all he knew in exchange for immunity.

For a few minutes there, I was thinking that Trump couldn’t pardon Flynn until there was a conviction, but then I remembered Ford pardoning Nixon and that went out the window.

Happy Thanksgiving. Flynn flipped. Hard to pretend it’s a nothingburger when your National Security Advisor is cooperating against you. Also, can’t imagine that you flip a witness to try to nail someone lower, and there ain’t much higher than Flynn.

Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, notified the president’s legal team in recent days that they could no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation, according to four people involved in the case, an indication that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with prosecutors or negotiating such a deal.

Mr. Flynn’s lawyers had been sharing information with Mr. Trump’s lawyers about the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, who is examining whether anyone around Mr. Trump was involved in Russian efforts to undermine Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

That agreement has been terminated, the four people said. Defense lawyers frequently share information during investigations, but they must stop when doing so would pose a conflict of interest. It is unethical for lawyers to work together when one client is cooperating with prosecutors and another is still under investigation.*

Since it appears that Mueller is going hard after Trump’s finances, and word is that he’s subpoenaed Trump’s tax returns, would they be available under the Freedom of Information Act?

IANAL, and I live in a very different country to you, but my opinion is no: Mueller is gathering evidence.

If he chooses to submit that evidence it would become public. If he chooses not to, it remains private.

If that was not the case any individual under suspicion could claim access to incriminating evidence under the F.I. act, and thereby gain substantial gain, which somewhat defeats justice.

Yeah, those charges he’s pleading guilty to seem a bit lower than what they have him dead to rights on. Lower charges in exchange for what?
