My singular data point is my godson, who was a hardcore Bernie Bro.
I remember the night Clinton clinched the nomination. About a half hour later, he posted a thoughtful piece about how although he was disappointed, it was important to stop Trump and support Clinton, closed with the #Imwithher hashtag.
And he supported Clinton and voted for her. Now before Bernie came along, he was completely apathetic with regards to politics despite my efforts to engage him. But once he became interested he stayed interested.
Good for him! My son is still totally negative on Hillary, although I don’t believe he goes so far as to express doubt about there being anything shady about the ties between Putin and Trump.

Could the president withdraw his nomination at this point? If he went before the Senate and said “I will recuse myself if the career ethics people tell me to” or “I will totally make every word of the special counsel’s report public,” could Trump say “Never mind, I de-nominate you, go home”? Could that be a factor in how he’s answering the Democrats’ questions?
Does anyone know of a video or web comic that explains the Mueller investigation in a way an 8yo could understand? Or something that more broadly answers the question my daughter posed to me today of why I don’t like President Trump?
That sounds fine for Republicans broadly. But I mean the stuff that is uniquely revolting and dangerous about Trump. And it will put a lot more weight behind it if it’s not just me telling her. At some point she needs to learn enough media literacy to not take something as gospel truth just because it’s “in print” or on YouTube, but right now I’d like to use that tendency to my advantage.
“See, Elmo here is the proletariat, and has all the power, which is why its the “dictatorship of the proletariat”. Sparkle Motion is the revolutionary cadres, who lead the proletariat in making the decisions that they dictate. The cadres don’t have any power, except that everybody has to do what they say. Now, the Grinch…”
NYT: After Trump met with Putin in Germany, he “telephoned a Times reporter and argued that the Russians were falsely accused of election interference.”
I mean, arguing this man isn’t committing treason as President is becoming an increasingly difficult task.
