A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

It was for Nixon. But back then it mattered to them.

Barr’s efforts amount to mere spin, but spin is effective.

Only if the report doesn’t make it obviously necessary. That’s what’s being redacted, obviously.

It doesn’t matter what’s in the report. It does - not - matter – at all.

What matters is whether or not Americans have incomes. If they have the same level of income they have now, and if they have faith that they might be able to make the rent payment on a regular basis, Trump will win – doesn’t matter if the reincarnation of Thomas Jefferson runs against him.

On the other hand, if there’s another Great Depression, Trump will probably reach an agreement with Pelosi to let him and his family live in Monaco or Switzerland.

Oddly enough, that’s almost word-for-word the current mantra of Chinese society regarding having the CPC running the country.

Yeah CNN was just spending a lovely morning outside Roger Stone’s house and got lucky.

Yeah, CNN had been camped outside Roger Stone’s house for over a month, night and day, once they learned that Mueller had filed a bunch of sealed indictments, on the reasonable assumption that at least one of them was for Stone.

I mean, you could have found that out for yourself but I know you pride yourself on your ignorance.

And I pride myself on having that troll on my ignore list. Nobody was ever made smarter by anything he said.

True, but I wanted to debunk that particular gross misrepresentation of the situation for the benefit of others. Ignorance can be infectious if not vaccinated against.

It was my time abroad that made me realize that America is not necessarily the most democratic of nations, despite the fact that we tend to think of ourselves a freedom-loving democratic republic. It’s not just the fact that corporations and billionaires have ever-increasing control over our politics and economics; I don’t think the American population is as ideologically egalitarian and democratic as our Western democratic allies like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and all of Western Europe.

But whether it’s China or the US, people have a bottom line. Government is a social contract, and ultimately, people will tolerate living in a society that is less free provided that their necessities are being met far longer than living in a society that appears to be free but where access essential resources is uncertain.

Bill Barr is testifying before Congress - Live Feed.

A couple of things from Barr’s testimony so far:

  • Barr refuses to say whether he’s briefed the White House on the Mueller Report.
  • Barr says Mueller declined the opportunity to review Barr’s four-page letter. That might suggest Mueller knew what was going on and wanted no part of it.

About that bolded part…

How Donald Trump Relearned to Hate The Mueller Report In Just 10 Days

And since this is the Pit: Fuck you if you voted for this man.

Sums it up nicely.

And now Barr says Congress will not receive the full report; they will only receive the redacted version that he will supply.

No doubt with any hint of Trump wrongdoing removed. I imagine the 300+ pages of the report will be reduced to 4 pages plus a bunch of blacked out stuff.

Like this?

I saw on CNN a little while ago that the redactions will actually be color-coded:
Say blue for grand jury stuff, red for classified, green for unrelated individuals’ private info…

Except, as one of the lawyers pointed out, the redactions come with explanations as to why they were redacted.

Look at the shiny colors!

Although to be fair, it might be useful visually to see what the categories are and their percentages.

It looks like the continuing Mormonization of the GOP. You know, they’ve got these golden plates personally inscribed by a supernatural being. Amazing, isn’t it? Except, no one is ever, ever allowed to look at them. The authorities will tell you what they say, and you better shut up and repeat after them or you’ll be kicked out of your family.

In the GOP, first they had the CDC banned from examining gun violence. Don’t need no stinking evidence! The gun movement is a faith based thing and real evidence will only screw it up.

Then there was the gag order about discussing climate change in Congress. Don’t even talk about it! Keep all the evidence under wraps and just trust us that the oil company line is the truth. Real evidence can only screw that up.

Now, just like with the golden plates, the Mueller Report is concealed from view. Barr is the high priest of this secret, revealing what he chooses and concealing the rest, even from Congress.

Evidence. Fact. Full disclosure. The true enemies of both the Mormon and GOP world views.

An apt comparison, Try2B Comprehensive.

We can have this report if we want it. Barr is a little freaked out by the public pressure in support for it, based on various reports I’ve heard/read.

Congress is entitled to see the entire report, unredacted and with all supporting indices attached. IMHO, we need to keep the pressure on by attending every gathering/march that supports its release.

I also believe Trump is gutting DHS in an effort to create distractions away from Mueller, his report and the House Ways and Means committee’s demand for Trump’s tax returns. Let’s not let it work.

Probably more like this.

It doesn’t actually say “how”. But the fact that Barr won’t say whether he briefed the President on its contents probably answers that question, and the date at which Trump flipped probably tells us when that conversation was had.

Of course it all started with:

“I’m Rich!!!” (but you can’t see my tax returns)

“I’m a Genius!!!” (but you can’t see my transcripts)

And looking to the future: “We have the bestest Health Care plan!!!” (but you can’t see it until after the election).
