A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

…I never banged those strippers! (though they are silenced by gag orders)

If they were paid to be with Trump, I don’t think they needed to be ordered to gag.

It is good.

I disagree. This has traditionally been true in politics, and it would most likely be true if Trump had done the “pivot” to “acting presidential” once he actually won the election. But he is sui generis, and can’t help being himself; and this is why Republicans took such a drubbing last fall even with a strong economy and low gas prices.

You’d assume that the color-coding was honest?

I’d bet that it won’t be. Of course it depends on how certain Barr is that he’d get away with lying—that the full report will never be seen by anyone, and that Mueller and his team will go on with their dignified silence, forevermore.

Yes and yes.

Here’s a useful Mueller Report Color Redaction Key.

Your link is broken.

And there’s the issue in China of “the two Chinas”–and I’m not talking about PRC vs. ROC. There’s the eastern part of the country with the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc. where the country’s wealth is concentrated, and then there’s the western part of the country where there’s barely any wealth at all in vast stretches. The folks in the east seem to be quite content with TPTB since those folks are enjoying the economy. Folks in the west? Not so happy.

:D:D

Well, Barr appears to be working with Nunes and is planning to start a competing investigation to Michael Horowitz’s review of whether there was any bias behind the choices made while investigating Trump. Given that there’s the IG investigation already underway, I see no non-corrupt reason to start such an initiative.

I wasn’t super optimistic that he would be great, but Barr did seem to have had GHW Bush’s blessing from back in the day and Rosenstein seemed to think he was on the side of good, at last report. And, purportedly, he’s a friend of Robert Mueller. But those tidbits of encouragement seem to have been optimistic.

I’m not quite sure what to make of him. Potentially, he’s just a fanatic for Constitutional theory that makes the Executive an untouchable godling, regardless of all other considerations. But I feel like even such a fervor wouldn’t drive one into the hands of Devin Nunes nor completely blind to the serious crimes that were almost certainly contained in the Mueller Report as having been referred for further investigation.

I’m getting a tingle matching that of Dershowitz and Graham, where they seem to be acting out of character for what would otherwise seem to be fairly reasonable people. If I was the news media, I’d go hunting for skeletons that might be lurking in that man’s closet.

I know what my next party game is going to be: Mueller Report Mad Libs!

Remember way back when certain people (Republicans) were bitching about Obama not releasing his transcripts and how that showed he wasn’t ever a student at the places he said he was?

Of course the hookers needed to be ordered to gag. Ain’t no way 'twas possible to deepthroat Dinky Trumpy.

I hope you’re right but, as I have said before, Trump’s support has eroded as much as it is going to. The Democrats need to woo the Apathy Party next round, not the Republicans who are (pardon the expression) left.

From what I gathered from Barr’s testimony yesterday, a “clean” summary by Mueller is a part of the full report and shouldn’t require any redaction.

So, to summarize, Barr is starting an investigation into whether the FBI initiated an investigation against Trump with no evidence based on no evidence.

I’ve felt for some time like I’m flying on a hijacked plane. Now I feel like the nose has begun to point downward.

Today’s testimony, combined with that we were hit with yesterday, seems to confirm that Barr has gone Full Toady.

Yes, could be a reason worth looking for (other than that he gets off on feeling like the handmaiden to the High and Mighty Emperor).

So help me, I’m starting to get nostalgic for the Sessions era.

Is this surprising? Did anyone not expect Trump and the GOP to assault democracy and the rule of law? Isn’t this what I’ve been trying to tell you?

p.s. If you think it stops here, and that the House democrats can stop him, think again. YOU have to stop him.

None of this will change without mass protests. And there probably won’t be any until the economy collapses, because the economy’s the one criterion we use to evaluate the president.
