Feinstein claims that Trump will resign soon.
I have no idea if it’s just loose talk or if she knows something.

That link is two years old.
Fake News!
You are on my shit list, dude.
Oops. Sorry. I was sent that link by a friend.
There is no justification—none—for withholding the unredacted Report from members of the Intelligence and Oversight committees (of both Houses) that have the appropriate clearances for seeing material at the level of classification contained in the Report.
At the very least, members of those committees with those clearances should have full access to the Report and its underlying documents. And they should have had all that, at the latest, the day after Mueller delivered the Report to the A.G.
The fact that the people of the USA have accepted this coverup committed by the A.G. is deeply, deeply troubling. To a great extent I blame the mainstream media—many of whom are overly concerned with maintaining “access” (to the White House). We should have been told, from day one, how profoundly illegitimate the actions of A.G. Barr have been.
On a bit of unrelated news, Barr is now denying bail to asylum seekers. For me that is the last straw, the final bit of evidence that Barr is Trump’s lackey.
I know I’ve gone over the top in recent months by suggesting that we should round up conservatives and throw them in jail, but I don’t think I’m hyperbolizing when I saw that the next chance we get, as Democrats and progressives, to throw conservatives in jail who deserve being jailed, we should take it. We missed our chance after the 2008 recession and with Cheney’s fraudulent cassis belli. We shouldn’t miss that chance again. Use the criminal justice system of course, but prosecute these criminals in the Trump administration and throw the goddamn book at all of them.
Who’s in charge of security clearances for members of Congress? If it’s ultimately Trump, we’re completely screwed.
“Soon” is such an ephemeral term.
Members of Congress have no security clearances. They don’t get background checks, either.
Not entirely true. (Clearancejobs)
So, hypothetically, what would happen if Trump told the FBI not to conduct background checks or, at the very least, drag their feet in completing them?
Trump does like using security clearances as a political weapon.

Hard to say, since this would be new territory for us as regards our “governance.” (By the way, that whole link is worth a quick read – very enlightening.)
But unless one of our existing House or Senate committee members is required to be replaced soon, it’s a moot point. They already all have their security clearances in place. I’ve personally heard Adam Schiff, Mark Warner and others refer to their clearances.
As Sherrerd earlier points out, this is why it’s so disingenuous and unacceptable to allow Barr to deny the release of the unredacted Mueller report to them. And I heartily agree with her about how disturbing it is that much of the population simply shrugs. Denying Congress its oversight role of the Executive branch is a big, big, deal. It should not be tolerated.

This may be a dumb question, but could Congress (or the House, or specific committees) take the WH to court over this? To get unredacted access to the report?

To WHAT court? A court presided over by a thump appointee? We’re screwed, folks. The law cannot be used against those who disregard the law.

They can, and they might. The problem with that approach is, if they get an adverse SCOTUS ruling, the shitty precedent could work against them evermore. In an era before courts were nakedly partisan, a favorable ruling for Congress would not have even been a question. Sadly, now it is. It will also take a lot of time.
More likely, the House committees will use their subpoena power to bring various participants before them to testify in both closed and open sessions. Barr will have little sway over witnesses who no longer work for the DOJ/FBI, and although they are required to maintain lifelong secrecy over classified information they learned during their time at Justice, nothing would preclude them from testifying openly about everything else.
It’s one reason I suspect TrumpCo spent so much effort trying to dirty up potential witnesses such as McCabe, Strozk and Page, and attempted to smear the unsmearable Mueller himself. (Still unknown where Rosenstein will fall on the spectrum. Something seriously weird there.)
I’m sure the committees are merely waiting to see how bad the redacted version is before proceeding. But they’re ready to do whatever.
In the end, I understand why most of the Dems are more broadly focused on the 2020 elections. By the time all this plays out, the elections will be on top of us.
Thanks for the insight!
Heh. Be funny if on January 21, 2021, President Notafuckingrepublican signed an executive order to release the unredacted report to Congress, and ordered the Justice Department to get ready to hire an ass-load of new prosecutors…

If Trump doesn’t win the reelection, I expect that he’ll go straight from the White House to someplace outside of US jurisdiction.
