A time-traveling, hijacked MMP

Home, and exhausted. Doggies are groomed, altho Scruffy looks ratty - she does NOT like being clipped. I’ll snip the stray tufts.

We got the top of the cabin masked and painted. I’ll go over it in the morning, catching the spots we missed. It’s very textured - almost like stucco, so we didn’t get all the valleys filled. I’ll do the touch up painting and everyone else will mask, so we can paint the deck. It was way too warm and sunny, tho. Thank goodness for sunblock rated SPF 60!

When we decided we were done with boat work, FCD came home and I went to WalMart to get some yarn, some waters, and a few other miscellaneous things. Then I popped into KMart just to see if they carried the round cardboard scratcher inserts - nope. Last stop was to get the doggies. Scruffy was getting her head trimmed when I showed up - she wasn’t happy at all. But they’re both clean, nails clipped, ears cleaned, and crashed.

Daughter is on her way home from her Ren Faire training. I’ve got tuna steaks thawing for supper. Need to feed the critters. What I want to do is kick off my shoes, flop down in a recliner, and knit. Maybe later…

Sorry about your neighbor, MamaT. :frowning:

And don’t worry about the knitting talk… I know there are several of us who love to read it…

::Makes note to work on correct prayers-for-rigs technique::

Did you see my brother at RSA, gotti? He was there all week.

Yay on Tatersson’s permit!

Home from meeting and plant shopping. Bought a lovely dahlia and million bells and a couple of rushes. Already figured out where to plant them. It’s too early to plant them, but it’s warm today and if it gets colder between now and mid-May, I’ll just drag the container inside.

Gotta go get weeds under control and mow and maybe start planting a few of the perennials that are buried in a holding bed. Anyone want to help? I’d love to sit down and knit, too, but really need to get some plant-related stuff done.

Back after a bit.

Yay for passing the driver’s test!
I’ve been informed that Mr Rebo is cooking dinner. Yay! Something about kielbasa and sauerkraut and potatoes…

My first load in the dryer included my tennies from the dog park. I failed to notice they kicked the door open. They are now air drying. Grr. I’m behind on the laundry. I guess it doesn’t matter since…

I don’t have to make dinner! ::happy dance::

Hey guys! I just came back from Costcovia full of nummies for a while!

Yum!

Whatd’ya bring us? Whatd’ya bring us?

Supper will be yummerrific. Broiled marinated tuna steaks, fake Dead Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits (I’ll post a link if they taste OK), and assorted dribs and drabs of veggies in the fridge. Maybe I’ll slice a cucumber, too.

The kids are out at the moment getting some cheddar - I only had a weensy bit left. They’re also bringing home a dessert-like substance. It’s hot - 80 in the house. I put the screens in the garage door and the front storm doors. Fans are on - nice bit of breeze.

Once we eat, I’m hitting the shower. I feel ick. And I’m beat.

I’m too old for this manual labor crap. I need me a Sugar Daddy.

In case anyone is curious, there was no patio last night… TVCTPMO managed to whip up a cold, dark and stormy evening at precisely 4:55, thus killing my patio dreams. However, they couldn’t keep me from having a beer. So nyah!

We’re going to Costcovia tomorrow. And Petsmart. And possibly Crappy Tire, because we really ought to buy a new BBQ - The Boy is starting to go a little twitchy every time he catches a whiff of grilled meat coming from someone else’s yard.

Time for din dins. Moooooom, I’ll take one of everything, please.

I had to take a Bendadryl this morning to combat sinus-inflicted vertigo. I’ve been stoned off of it all day. STill am.

Hate Benadryl.

It’s Beer O’clock! good thing too, because Gordie hornked on my bed again. steak and deli sallit tonight, tomorrow I tailgate!

Hope you get less zoned, Spaz.

Muppet, I just tested out my new propane grill. I feel all Hank Hill like(Propane is God’s gas!)

Congrats to Taterson!

rigs, I sacrifice a small animal to Moloch for you, and this is the thanks I get? Get your own darn altar, then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Do any other allergy meds work for you, Spaz? I alternate between generic Tavist (little white 12-hour pill) and generic Chlortrimeton (little yellow 6-hour pill), depending on how bad my allergies are. Benadryl makes me loopy, too (and then anxious; it’s not pretty), but I’ve found that both of these work well and don’t bother me at all. (IANAD etc etc etc, but I am a long-time allergy sufferer). CVS has the generics at a much more affordable price than the brands (I’m sure all the big chain drug stores do…)

I’d just like to say: I love my neighborhood. It was the first Saturday-night hop of the year, so we had 5 or 6 bands on our main drag, all sorts of artists, free food (FYI: Panera makes nice blueberry scones), the people renovating the movie theater were there with free popcorn and plans, and lots more. I took a walk around 6 and it was pretty empty, but by 8:00 all the restaurants were crowded, the sidewalks were busy and there were about 50 people in line for ice cream (yes, it’s that good).

In between walks, I weeded and then planted my first container that will make it through the summer. (I already had some primroses in a little window box.) Yay!!!

Now I’ma knit and watch Bones, I think…

Happy Saturday night!

Well, we never made it out to do yardwork. Just as we were getting ready to start, it started raining. It didn’t last long, but it was enough to make everything too wet.

We’ve just returned and finished eating the yummies from Sonic. Yes, the onion rings are good; not as good as the old Earthquake up here, but good. The strawberry limeade was indeed very tasty. I had some kind of cheeseburger on texas toast too. It wasn’t too bad.

They were slammed, and this was just family and friends night! I feel sorry for those kids when they have the real grand opening on Monday!

Hmm, my daughter just left, my son is at work until midnight, and hubby and I are alone. What to do, what to do?

Oh, I meant to add that I’m sorry about your neighbor Mama Tigs.

Well, next time, use a BIGGER animal!

I am off to bed. We’ve had summer, spring and now fall today. No shit-the temp went from 82 to 38 in less than 2 hours here. It’s now raining and thunderbooming like mad.

Capris are only warm in summer. I’s freezin’! Off to find the flannel PJs–I refuse to turn the heat back on for this temper tantrum from Old Man Winter (or is it Mother Nature having a hissy? Dunno).

Up early, drat. I’m still tired, but wide awake.

Daughter’s friend arrived before 10 which is good - she’d been driving all day from Jacksonville. Shortly after she got here, I crashed, very late for me.

We’re taking everyone to breakfast, then the girls are heading across the river to the house/dog sitting job, and the rest of us are heading to the marina. I’m hoping for a short day, but not expecting it.

House is open, but with predicted high of 90, I expect I’ll have to close things up before we leave and put the air on. blah.

That’s all. Sorry for the crabbies. Maybe I need some caffeine??

Good morning all! Up and caffeinating here glances in the direction of FCM did ya find any caffeine yet, Crabby? ducks and runs

It did get right warm yesterday and even now is in the low 60s  I hope this is not a preview of the summer to come! Supposed to be even warmer today, and through Tuesday, I think. Then we get back to more “normal” temps - well, normal for this time of year.

Yays and boos for all who need/deserve them … I’m not caffeinated enough to be able to distinguish between the two, I suspect. :stuck_out_tongue: Listen, I thought I was opening a can of milk (tis what I put in my coffee and don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it!), but it was a can of garbonzo beans. Yes, I had my glasses on … it looked remotely like the canned milk. I think. LOL Now I gotta use those chick peas today!

Happy Sunday all.

Morning Mumpers! I’m up and caffeinating. I’m going to Mass to get deheathenated, then take the dogs to the DOGPARK!. Tailgating will follow.

Morning all!

I’m trying to imagine a brand of chick peas that looks like a brand of canned milk. It’s hard work.

Guess I should get up and get moving.

It’s supposed to be 87 today. Hoping to get something done in the garden despite that…

Anyone interested in getting us started tomorrow???

GT

I might could throw something together.

All I had at the time was Benadryl. I got some Faken Sudafed at the store yesterday.

Woke up to a lovely bout of anti-Semitism in one of my LJ communities. It looks like I am going to have to draft a point-by-point explanation of what “don’t be a jerk” means. I hate people.

Evenin’ all. Been kinda busy so can’t keep up. Hugs, yays, boos, etc. as appropriate.

Summer is finally here - temp got to 96°F/36°C, so I finally caved and turned on the AC in my car!

Hey all. It’s too dammed hot. Spring I can handle. 91F??? That’s summer and I hates summer.

Anyhoo, trying to do some spring cleaning, some classwork and the such. Hi possibility I might fail at completing those tasks…
