Morning, all. Not much going on here. Work, work, and more work. My thrilling and exciting existence.
Cute reef, Mooom! I like everything but the eel, though – I have a thing about eels. Ever since I saw some movie years ago. They squick me out beyond belief. I guess it’s a cute eel if you like eels, but I prefer to think of it as a sea snake. That’s a big piece you made there, though – what are you going to do with it? Cause you have to put it out somewhere to be admired!
Happy St. George’s Day, BooFae!
Stoopit dogs, Bobbio!
Not much else is going on around here. Except work, work, and more work. Which I’d better get back to. Later, all!
Sounds familiar, except for the age and the age-related overnight stay.
If the terms are anything like “L5-S1 microdiscectomy” or “laminotomy*” I can help translate and maybe even give some insight on the recovery. (Yes, it was minimally invasive and minimally traumatic, but it IS surgery, and it will take longer to get over than if it was just a skin wound.
For some reason, the surgeons seem to call essentially the same procedure in the lumbar spine a microdiskectomy, and a laminotomy elsewhere in the spine.
Noon (N. O. N.) update on the poop-eating morons. Both are better, but not fully recovered. Freya lacks the stamina and ability to jump up onto the bed. Both are spending the day as lazy slugs, instead of their usual lazy slug punctuated by periods of roadrunners on speed.
Apparently, TVCTPMO has focused its efforts on me… see, tomorrow is going to be warm and sunny, and I was supposed to work from my downtown office… so I had made plans to exit at 5pm sharp to sit on a patio and enjoy said warm and sunny in the company of some friends and a few pitchers of beer.
Instead, I’ll be spending all day in a dark, windowless room in our suburban office reading yet another 1000-page document. It’s unlikely I’ll be able to leave at a reasonable hour, either, which means no patio… no beer… no sunshine. Grrrr.
That sucks, Muppet. Right now it looks really nice out so I’m hoping I can go for a bike ride tonight after work. But that’s what I thought last night and we saw what TVCTPMO thought about that!
I’m cutting class tonight. I just didn’t want to go in, so I pleaded sick. Not too far off - I did have a bit of tummy ick earlier today. But I’m tired and in absolutely no mood to make clay. So I’ll work on my last piece here at home and get to bed at a decent hour.
I don’t know where the reef is going to live. It’s so doggone big!!! It was on the dining room table when I took the pics, but it can’t stay there - we eat there frequently. Right now, it’s on a small table in the living room.
I think we’re going to leave work early tomorrow, because we can. I’ve got 2 training sessions, but I’ll be done about noon. So my sweetie will pick me up and we’ll go to lunch before coming home. Yay!
Beautiful weekend ahead- temps getting into the 80s, lots of sun, great for scrubbing boat decks. rah. I’ve also got to write my report on Raku and finish my notebook for class. Incidentally, thisis my teacher. In case you’re interested.
**MamaTigs **- I finished the practice hat and my daughter loves it! She wanted a tassle on it - real classy!
I just beat Level 9. It took 15 Instant Death mushrooms, 25 Teleport ones, a dozen or so Slow and Confuse mushrooms, and another dozen or so Level 6 Pure Elemental mushrooms. I got 15.4 million points, finished with 125/125 lives, and earned Gold.
A tassel isn’t that bad, Moooom, depending on how you make it. Do a braided cord a few inches long and then a tassel at the end, and it looks pretty nice. Or you could just be annoying and make a giant pom-pom.
I have had a nose-to-the-grindstone day, and now after wasting a bit of time in front of TV early this evening, I will have a nose-to-the-grindstone rest of the evening. Blergh. Oh well, it’s my fault, I asked for the work. Forgetting that I had another big job sitting here already. :smack: At least I know better than to ask for anything to do over the weekend now! Besides, I’ve got to dig my sewing machine out this weekend – I promised my SIL some cool ties, and a small dog cool blanket, to sell in her grooming shop. So I also need to come up with cute tags to put on them. I have zero creativity right now, so hopefully inspiration will strike eventually. And then I want to try sewing myself a couple of knitting project bags – I paid a bit of $$ for a couple different styles as samples, so now all I need to do is reconstruct them.
But first I need to finish these boring congress[del]idiots[/del]people. O frabjous day.
I just finished my last clay project - the Save the Whales piggy bank. It’s all wrapped up to allow the joints to fuse together. On Sunday, I’ll unwrap it and with luck it’ll be dry in time for class on Tues. Maybe I can even underglaze it before class.
I’m glad I didn’t go to class. I got to work at my counter, watching Mike Rowe, and talking to my sweetie. Now I’m having a little ice cream before heading to bed.
FIL went home from the hospital this morning. He’s supposed to use a walker to get around for a while, but from the sound of one side of a phone call, he’s in good spirits and doing well. So yay!
Hurray! I’ve been given a reprieve from the dark windowless room in suburbia for now… which bodes well for my patio and beer plan, assuming the weather cooperates (and even if it doesn’t, it’ll just mean less patio and more beer, which isn’t a bad thing)
Guess TVCTPMO decided to cut me some slack.
Hope you managed to get in a bike ride tonight as you’d hoped, taxi.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s Firday!!! YAY!!!
I forgot to mention but I have a slight change in hours startin’ Monday. I’ll be workin’ 6:00 - 2:30. That’s am to pm. That’s a half hour earlier than now but a half hour earlier leavin’, so it’s all good. Besides, soon 'twill be pool time and those are great pool time hours.
After work today I am goin’ to give back porch it’s final depollinatin’ pressure wash. Pine pollen is officially over and since it will be in the high 80s Amurrkin this afternoon I figure goin’ ahead and doin’ it today instead of tomorrow mornin’ will result in the porch dryin’ off before dark since it’ll be warm. Plus it’ll get it over with and I can defilthyfy da cave tomorrow.
I is officially tired today - we went to see AC/DC last night at the National Exhibition Centre last night and I didn’t get home until 2am. That’s not good when the alarm wants to go off at 6am. I sacrificed washing my hair for an extra half hour in bed so if I look scruffy today, that’s just tough.
My ears are still ringing though.
In contrast, next Friday we’re off to see The Levellers!
