A totally freaky test

I kept thinking of Delaware as my country that starts with a “D.”:smack:

An iguana eating acai berries in Djibouti?

Oh hey, at least I wasn’t the only Djibouti thinker!

I suck at math, so I ended up with a Yak in Germany eating a Kiwi. I felt all special for being part of the 2%, until I realized that I was part of the 2% of people who can’t do basic math.

raccoon in Damanhur eating a nectarine (but I had to google for an “n” fruit.)

(even sven: hee hee! good one.)

Ibex, Djibouti, same here.

Jinx!

Let me get this straight; you though of ‘Djibouti’, and ‘ichthyosaur’, and couldn’t come up with ‘raspberry’?

Hey me too! Although I saw a kangaroo just yesterday, so I don’t know why I thought of a koala first.

I has an ibis in Dubai with a starfruit.

Koala bear in Denmark eating a raspberry.

Depends on your definition of “country” (really, when I tell people I’m an uber-geography geek, I’m sick of the question “how many countries are there in the world?” There’s no right answer, people!) No UN members begin with W, but, off the top of my head, there’s Wales (a “constituent country” of the UK, has several aspects of a country), Wallis and Futuna (couple of tiny islands in the south Pacific owned by France), Western Sahara (a hotly disputed territory in West Africa; administered by Morocco, some claim illegally), and, to stretch it farther, Walloonia (region of Belgium). Now X, there’s a letter where you’ll be hard pressed to find anything resembling a country that starts with that letter! (I’ve been a geography geek for close to 30 years and still have yet to find one).

For the record, UN members (to narrow the definition of “country”) that begin with D consist solely of Denmark, Djibouti, Dominica, and the Dominican Republic. Dubai is a city (and I think an emirate) within the UAE, Deutschland is the German name for Germany (which I think of as blatant cheating IMHO), and Darfur (an answer a friend of mine gave for a similar quiz, obviously trying to think outside the box) is a region in Sudan.

Koala in Denmark eating an apple.

I had a cat from the Dominican Republic eating a tomato.

You know a way they could make the quiz much more of that “wow” factor - since we smart Dopers obviously exposed the man behind the curtain by pointing out that there isn’t just one country that begins with “D”, leading us to several animals, and even more fruit.

Once you are lead to “4” as the correct answer, you can then be asked to think of a colour that starts with the last letter of your choice (when spelled into words) - granted it may be derailed here as there’s probably more than one colour that starts with “r”, but it’s a safer bet than steering them to “Denmark”. Then, once you have your colour, ask the person to think of a suit from a deck of cards that begin with the last letter of your colour. Then, magically present the four of diamonds - is this the card you were thinking of?

Now, is that so hard?

It’s sweet that you think of him as family Panda, but a koala isn’t a bear. I just spent a couple of minutes wondering how you could come up with raspberry for the last letter of koala:)

Dubai isn’t really a country. It’s an emirate.

Haha! I said Tangerine, but yeah…

Joe

:smack: I knew there was an obvious answer!

red-peach, hearts. nope, it’s the four of hearts. :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh. That’s exactly what I had, and where I got stuck … Evidently you think just like me. Seek psychiatric help at once!

Isn’t Dakar a country? That’s where my rhinoceros gets his strawberries.

I thought of Djibouti, which lead to Iguana, which lead to Apple
