Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis warmish out at 55 degress Amurrkin but foggy. I hate goin’ to irk in the fog. It makes the people who don’t already know how to drive but drive anyway even worse.
Ok that’s all I got this mornin’. Time for more caffiene and feedin’ of rumbly tummy. Then irk purtification shall commence.
Really good weekend in San Diego. Lots of good food and sunshine and 75 on Saturday, 65 the other days. When we left, it had been days of 0 or single-degree highs (in degrees F) so that was a good 70 degrees above what we were used to. Felt pretty darned good.
But now I’m tired - haven’t completely undone the jet lag yet - and I don’t feel like doing work at all. Bleh.
It’s warm! It’s above freezing! We have a fun weekend of seeing friends planned, and I should be doing housework as Gnat’s been taken away by some lady who promises not to return him until five.
Bleh, indeed, taxi.
Today’s our Friday, we have a four-day weekend, life is pretty good.
BBBobbio that’s how close I live to a gator patroled cypress swamp too! It’s the second largest swamp in Jawja. Hence my screen name. The gator patroled Flint River is only a mile and a half away. One can sometimes see gators sunnin’ themselves on the river banks. This seems to be a large part of gator life.
Also, I have done my good deed for the day. JDD needed a form filled out by the planning authority and maps showin’ the prior and most recent flood zones. See, his house lies in a flood zone and his flood insurance went way up but the insurance company will grant a waiver of the premium increase with this info. So, since I work like two blocks from the offices of said authority, I betook myself over there paperwork in hand intendin’ on just findin’ out what all would need to be done cause, ya know, nuttin’ is ever simple. Well, lo and behold! In twenty minutes time I got the form filled out and the maps. I called JDD and if’n he coulda I do believe he woulda kissed me through the phone. I even made him copies of everything and mailed the stuff off to his insurance company bein’ as I knew irk mail would be goin’ out soon. Thus, my good deed for the day.
Tuna sallit sammich and chips for lunch, brought from home. Since I’ve et and all reckon I should go back to irk.
I’m a little less bleh. A friend and I went out for lunch, and, although the Afghan place that I wanted to go was closed, we had a good Indian buffet for lunch. And then picked up coffee on the way back because we were both sleepy and both have meetings to attend soon.
No photographic evidence, but I have a short skirt on today. And it’s fine if I stand still, but when I walk it bunches up. Grrrr.
OYKW is swipin’ General Tso’s dindin on his way over. He told me that last night. He butched up and told me it was a no cook night tonight. I just love it when he’s forceful.
The house is open - it’s hovering around 70°F right now. More of the same tomorrow, so I decided to take the day off. Yay! However, because a certain evil pug took it upon himself to hike his leg on my bedspread, I will be doing laundry tomorrow. Damned dog!
I may have to sit in on a VTC on Tues regarding a project I was on months ago. They’re going to be presenting it to some mucky-mucks soon and want to run over the slides one more time. This is the project that was based largely on rectally-extracted assumptions so while the analysis is valid, the basis for the analysis isn’t. I’ve pointed out repeatedly that all of my work was based on these assumptions - I guess if you have enough disclaimers, anything is valid…
Lessee, what else? Not much. Looking forward to a 4-day weekend, even if it involves chores. With luck, I’ll get to sleep in a little. Maybe…
I would love a four day weekend about now. However, I have to work on Sunday. So, this week I’m working Monday-Friday, Saturday off, and Sunday into work. If Monday wasn’t a holiday, I’d be in. As it is, I’m kind of waiting to hear to see if I’ll be told to come in Monday too.
I slipped and fell twice in the parking lot at work today. It was icy and snowing, but the stupid facilities people didn’t put the ice melty stuff down…again; so down I went. I kind of wrenched my arm grabbing for the door on the Expedition, but I’m waiting to see if the Motrin will knock the pain out.
In the meantime, the admin assistant made fill out an accident report just in case. I’ve never had to do that in my entire career.
Frankly, I came damn close to cracking my head too. I don’t know how I managed to avoid that.
My boss fell in the lot this morning too. I don’t know who had it worse. She ended up doing the splits. That couldn’t have felt good.
Taters, as HR told me, always -always- fill out an accident report! If nothing else comes of it, facilities should get their butts chewed out for not making sure the lot was safe!!
I’m still not feeling well. I go to see my primary care doctor tomorrow at 8 AM, so hopefully will have some sort of handle on this after that. I’ve been through several phases with this: sneezing phase, chills/feverish phase, coughing phase. Coughing is the worst, I think; I couldn’t sleep last night. I’m doing everything that I’m supposed to do, it’s just making me miserable. ::sighs::
There you have it. At least tomorrow is Friday and it’s a holiday on Monday!
Sorry about your fall, Taters. Hope everything stops hurting soon.
I gave up on short skirts a while ago because of reasons like that, taxi. They’re always doing all kinds of stuff that they shouldn’t and you wind up thinking more about what you’re wearing than what you’re doing.
Hope you’re feeling much better very soon, tarra.
My cold appears to be going away. Still a bit drainy, but otherwise much better.
Am sleepy already, so I guess I should consider crawling into beddie bye…
Last night I dreamed that I interrogated people on which version of “The Ants Go Marching” lyrics they learned: “Down TO the ground” or “Down INTO the ground” to get out of the rain. The people I asked reacted pretty much like you’d expect them to. But really, down to the ground to get out of the rain makes no sense. How does being on the ground keep you from being rained on? It doesn’t!
In other news we haven’t had a snow storm for almost two weeks, and that makes me very nervous. The other shoe will drop, but when??
