Out of the mouths of babes and…and Georgians.
Thank y’all.
I’m here in the armpit but it’s just me the kid and the dog. Mom is out with his family making arrangements.
I’m still kind of stunned at how quickly he passed.
Poor mom, she has gone from living with 5 other adults, four dogs and a bird to living by herself in a months time.
She’s going to need some help. I know she wants to move back upstairs but the HFH never put her bedroom back together.
{{{{{{{{{Sah-family}}}}}}}}}; sorry for your loss; you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks to all for the warm wishes; I’m feeling better today and my knees are not as sore as they could have been. Thank goodness for Icy Hot! No medicinal alcohol was taken, though - my meds kinda cancel it out.
I’m a big fan of the show “Longmire,” and was most unhappy at the cancellation. I’m still hoping that it will get picked up somewhere else, even Netflix, but in the mean time I’ve been reading the Longmire books. I’m glad that they exist, and in fact Craig Johnson is a pretty good writer. The one I’m reading right now is set mostly in Philadelphia, so I’m familiar with many of the landmark sites in the book. It seems strange, because I’ve enjoyed learning about Wyoming through the books! For any fans of the show who haven’t read the books, I thoroughly recommend it.
Hugs to anyone in need of them, at least it’s Wednesday, right?
Wait a minute, your medicine cancels the effect of alcohol?
Did you bring enough for everyone?
:dubious:
you both should fix that last sentance
Might be a technicality so they can come back and dispute it.
Sahirrnee, please accept my sympathies for your loss.
Buttercup Smith, I hope your brother starts to feel better.
My SO, Val, had her annual home health care visit today (she just makes use of it because it’s something her health insurance provides). Much better results than last year, cholesterol is down as well as BP. These were things that were worrying me and she and I are delighted that she “passed” with flying colors.
Spent all day yesterday driving to a tiny town in southern Missouri named Romance. This was where my maternal great grandmother was from and I hadn’t been there in nearly 50 years. The only thing left in the hollow is a small white church and a few fallen-to-pieces houses. Had a great time driving across the twisting, hilly road across the Ozarks in our car ('92 Mercedes 500SL Roadster). Man, that car and those roads loved each other!
There is a Romance, Arkansas. Some people traditionally mail Valentines to the Romance PO to have the stamp canceled there.
bobbio, that would be doggio’s blood type. I have made a couple of modifications to your directive, but otherwise, it’s signed.
It’s finally almost time to get the flock outta here. I’m feeling a little better than I was this morning. If I can make it through tomorrow morning, I should be able to manage or call out the rest of the week.
Back from early dindin at the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. We got there, paid, and just as we got to our table, fresh fried chikin got brought out to the buffet. YUM!
I saw it, and it’s fixed.
Home at last, exhausted and relieved!! Even with a bunch of stops, we made it in 12 anna half hours. Someone tends to drive fast…

Just gotta ask - if a duck farts in the woods, does it echo??
OK, that’s all for now. I need to get into something comfy and chill. ***MWAH!!
Sounds like Sah-Son has a mission
I am so sorry Sahirrnee.
I have an eleven year old. Asshole neighbor made a remark about how I should be more careful because I sent said eleven year old around the block by herself to pick up some Chinese food I ordered. Sometimes I think my neighbors would faint if they knew half the crap I pulled growing up in NYC. I swear there are days I really want to move back there and get away from the housewife helicopter mommies here in NJ.
FYI, if anyone wants to join me, I’ll be attending a free conference on vaccines tomorrow at NYU. Dr. Offit is one of the featured speakers.
PA is more practical, it has Intercourse; & what’s more, it’s near Paradise!
Mooommm, are the felines happy you’re home or giving you the stink eye for leaving in the first place?
LavBlue, check your PM’s, mebbe we can libate.
I hate it when you have something cool.
From Hell’s Heart, I spit my last breathe at thee! Etc., etc., etc.
I say this from the bottom of my heart:Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah! :pThbbbttthhhbbttt!!!
Intercourse, PA. Halfway between Blue Ball and Paradise.
For those not lucky enough for Intercourse, there’s always Dildo, Newfoundland. No word if the Newfies require a bottle of Screech.
Up early, but I’m OK - I was asleep before 9 last night.
Taz has more than forgiven me - he’s lying across my left arm right now. He’s been a royal pest - if he’s not chasing around with Higgs, he’s lovin’ on me. I also found out he turned on the bedroom TV the day we left!! Ziva has forgiven me, too, so life is good at FairyChatEstates.
I dumped pellets in the stove, and it’s fired up, taking the chill out of the room. It’ll hit the mid-60s later today, but that’s later. It’s damp and brrrrrr at the moment. We’ll see how long till it comes to temp.
Today’s plans include going to Food Lion. We ran out of milk the day before we left and we’re probably low on other stuff. I got their weekly ad in the mail yesterday, so I’ll go thru and plan my trek. We also got the check for August’s crab monitoring - that’ll go into the bank post-haste. And CVS called - I’ve got meds to pick up there. Other than that, dunno - I’ll probably sort the dirty laundry from the trip, but I don’t plan to wash any till tomorrow.
It was so nice sleeping in a king-size bed again, sans dog. Plus I have my memory foam again, which added to the bliss. Dorothy was right - there’s no place like home!
Happy Thursday!
