A virginal MMP!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 47 Amurrkin out (well brrr!) with a predicted high of 74 for the day. Nice weather but I will be indoors, of course.

MOOOOOM yay for safe trip home. How long will it be before Higgs becomes a permanent guest in the bed each night?

Jawja has a Bethlehem in the north part of the state. Apparently it is a big deal to get Christmas cards postmarked from there. Whatever. I also get to drive through Climax from time to time.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I get to go up to the north forty this mornin’. RAH.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

We live just up the road from the Loveville, MD post office, but I don’t think they do the postmark thing. I think all mail in this area goes to Mechanicsville to be processed. I could be wrong…

I’m almost caught up on my daily intrarwebz stuff that I missed while in FL. I just finished breakfast. I guess next I’ll make a grocery list. **FCD **is still abed. Ziva came to me for skritches. Higgs spent a peaceful night in her crate - she didn’t fuss till I came to let her out.

Life is pretty much back to normal, till we head to FL again. FIL will have his other knee done in the coming months…

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Up, at irk, wishing I was still in the bed

Forgot to say last night - Welcome back, Rio!!! Didja bring us anything??

The sprog, who is now 12, gets to stay home by himself tomorrow; he’s got a day off for parent-teacher conferences. He’ll have some pocket money, his phone, and the run of the town. If he knew how to ride his bike, he’d be able to go to the movies or something, but as it is, anything he’d want to do is within walking distance. This is not the first time, either; he’s done this before. He knows not to play with sharp objects or matches and will likely spend most of his day in his underwear playing video games, watching anime, and searching for porn on the Internet. Somehow, he’s still a normal, well-adjusted 12-year-old boy.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to pick up DH’s prescription from Target very soon, like maybe on my way home today.

Afternoon!

Horribly overslept today- I always seem to do that when it’s gloomy and wintery outside. I was planning on dressing up like a grown-up, and going round one of the main shopping streets to ask if anyone was looking for Christmas staff- but it’s 3.30 now, which is a bit late to get started, as I’d be hitting busy time if I went now.

I need to try it tomorrow, no excuses.

I turned on the heat this morning. Brrrr…

Heading towards the horsepistol for a pint. Unfortunately, they don’t have pool or shuffleboard tables.

Well, all erranding is done, except that I forgot to go to CVS, dammit! Not a gigantic deal - I’m not low on my BP meds and we go to Leonardtown often enough. Just a minor brain fart.

But we’ve deposited the crab check and amassed $104 in groceries, once you account for coupons and MVP prices. I’m going to throw together some stuffed cabbage later today for supper tomorrow and into the weekend. I’m thinking tonight we’ll have fish and other healthy stuff.

Speaking of health, we could use some healthy thoughts for FIL - they’re keeping him in the hospital another day to give him some blood. We’re a bit concerned since the surgery was on Monday. But at least he didn’t go home (as if he could have.) Once they deem he’s OK, they’ll take him to a rehab facility for several weeks of PT before he can go home. Poor guy.

Mooooom kilded the MMP!

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a beautiful fall day here, fairly warm and kind of breezy.

I now officially own my house!
Settlement was quick and easy. the only pain being writers cramp from all the damn papers I had to sign.
My mortgage payment is going to be $40 less than I calculated so that was good news.

I’m still at my mothers but I am ready to go home. However, the viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is Saturday so I may as well stay until that is over. My niece wants me to make costumes for her boys so I’m going to tell her to come over here and hopefully get them done this weekend as well.

Sorry I haven’t kept up so much.

Now it’s time for a nap.

**sari **- huzzah that it’s finally done! And double-huzzah for the smaller mortgage!! Lemme give you and any other homeowner a little tip - check your homeowner’s insurance and make sure it’s what you want and not anything more. I didn’t do that until a few months ago and it turns out I was paying for some crap coverage that was worthless to me. When I got them to drop it, my monthly payment dropped $20. You’re welcome!

Rice is cooked, ground beef is thawed, guess I can start building the stuffed cabbage. I have zero motivation. **FCD **is snoozing on the couch and I was dozing in the recliner with a dog on my feet and a cat on my lap. It’s a lazy day here! At one point when I was trying to read, all 3 animals were on the recliner helping me. I guess I was missed…

Salmon for supper with twice-baked N.O.T.s, broccoli, and I’m not sure what else. Apple cake fore dessert. Glad to have that planned already.

Howdy Y’all! Been a looooooooong day of irk but it’s over and tomorrow is Firday. Poke chops, butterbeans and peas with okra, Rice-A-Roni and crescent rolls for dindin. I cooked the butterbeans/peas/okra last night so just heat up is all that’s needed there. Rice stuff is simmerin’ as I post, crescent rolls don’t take long to bake up and the poke chops just need to be warmed up as they’re already smoked. An easy and tasty dindin, just like the way I like my men.

ETA: Sari yay for settlement finally!

MOOOOOOM prayers and good thoughts headed out for FCFIL.

Supper will be ready in about 5 minutes.

FIL is doing better - they’re planning to move him to rehab tomorrow.

The house is toasty warm, thanks to the pellet stove. It barely hit 60 outside, but inside, it’s cozy, which is nice. We’ll set the stove on low overnight, and we can probably turn it off tomorrow. We shall see.

To you: congratulations!

To the sellers: about damn time!

Wound up doing some grocery shopping along the way. Target had Monster Cereals! Bought 2 boxes each of BooBerry and FrankenBerry (I’m the only one in the household who likes either) and 4 boxes of Count Chocula (DH and I both like this), got milk and bread, which I needed anyway, acquired candy for hypothetical costumed mooches next week (I fear that the year I don’t buy candy is the year I get swarmed), got some feminine stuff I needed anyway ($5 gift card for buying $15 worth of personal care products), and treated myself to caramel apple Oreos. All of the previous except the Oreos had some sort of smartphone coupon dealie involved, which was nice. That 5% for use of RedCard is also good when most of the order is non-taxable. Also picked up DH’s prescription. Then went to another store to pick up canned roast beef hash, since I had a craving.

Dindin is et. It’s nice when sump’n is simple and tasty to boot. I promised to make chikin nachos tomorrow night due to a certain OYKW sayin’ he has a gnawin’ and a cravin’. He may be a spoiled brat, but he’s my spoiled brat.

Also, he’s spendin’ the night. YAY!!!

I’m grilling pork back ribs. I’ll try to talk Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) to make slaw, and she is spending the night.

Supper was yum! And tomorrow’s supper is done and cooling down. Apple cake later. Digesting now!

**flytrap **- TMI, dude - we don’t need to know about your kinks… :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re pork ribs, not beef!
