A wayward soul's MMP

I tried out a new recipe for Salisbury steak that came out really yum. Sides were instant smashed spuds and fresh green beans. Apple and blueberry crisp for dessert later.

Chillage for the rest of the day.

OK, I’m beat. Did a Home Depot run for more potting soil, then potted and caged the pepper seedlings I got yesterday. After a load of laundry, a buddy came by to help me anchor my privacy screens to the cement patio. Drilling and filling and other things I try to avoid, that’s why I went to graduate school, thank you very much! But it would now take a hurricane to budge those suckers. (I hope.) While I was motivated, I then weed whacked the back yard, far side yard and upper stage. Ran out of charge right as I ran out of motivation. So now I am sore and contemplating the complexity of a frozen pizza for dinner.

Sunday chores are done, I’ve played some in the studio and made Greek stuffed eggplant and some steamed broccoli for supper. It’s the first time I’ve tried the stuffed eggplant recipe and I think it’s a keeper. The bechamel turned out well, considering that I haven’t made it for a few years.

Now to chill for the week to come.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, got back to da cave, had sammiches for N.O.L., achieved nappage, and sup got fixed and consumed. Then I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I feel like I kinda made up for yestiddy’s major slothfest.

I was remiss with the big trash bin last week, so it was imperative that it get pulled around tonight. Already done!
And filled to the top with extra trash, for good measure, including a healthy dose of used kitty litter, for that yummy odor.

Speaking of yummy odors, dinner is almost ready.

Pulled BBQ beef (not made by me, full disclosure) and whomp croissants. I added a bit of cheese and some of those fried onion toppings to the beef, because I was feeling just that level of extra.

Then I gotta call back my frienemy, as I owe her a callback. Maybe I’ll finally get that laundry put away meanwhile …

Care to share? A recipe, I mean. If all goes well, I’ll have home-grown eggplant before summer is over. :smiley:

Tomorrow, I’ll gather household garbage for a trash/recycle run. I’ll also run to the post office at some point, and if it’s nice enough, I’ll break out a rake and start on the yard. Daughter texted me and asked if we’ll come over next weekend with the chainsaw and blower to help them finish up some yard work, so we have that to look forward to.

Oh, and dessert was yum! Closing in on beddy-bye time - we shall meet again in the next MMP!!! MWAH!!

Evening all. Have sent out all the soccer stuff and nobody has written back in the last 3 hours, so just maybe I’ve got things right…nah, I’ll get a bundle of e-mails tomorrow.

Dinner was consumed but I ate too fast, had a gas bubble that I thought might make me ‘return to sender’, but it went away and I’m fine and dandy.

shoe, of course you can start it…if you can beat our early risers to it (the last one I started I stayed up until 12:30am to make sure…).

Greek stuffed eggplant

If you want another eggplant recipe, I’ll dig out the eggplant lasagne recipe that goes over well at potlucks with a lot of vegetarians (it’s vegetarian, diabetic friendly and quite tasty).

My surgery happened as the weather was closing in and we pretty much grabbed up all of the yard furniture and other out door stuff and jammed it into the garage. As of last Wednesday my restrictions have been lifted and I can go back to normal lifting and moving.

It was a beautiful day today. I emptied the garage enough to get the Weber Kettle fired up and I grilled the first burgers of the season. They were magnificent!

My dear SIL grilled burgers too!:grinning:it was great-I loved every bit of both of them. Even little Harriet scarfed down every morsel of her full sized one.

Then she and I played out in the back yard together for 4 hours til dinner time. Heavenly, but then we are only 55 miles from you.

Leftovers tonight. Mrs. L.A. had shrimp & vegetable tempura and California roll leftover from Friday, and I had half of a taco salad (without the tortilla bowl) leftover from yesterday. Breakfast was leftover bacon-and-sausage gravy plus fresh sausage gravy, leftover biscuits, and scrambled eggs.
