So the shot is more sore than the flu shot, but otherwise no sie effects yet.
Since the Moderna vaccine has to be thrown out 6 hours after they defrost it, most pharmacies will keep a list of people intrested, in case some one doesn’t show up for their appointment, or the only book 98 shots for a 100 shot vial.
YAY! : crosses appropriate and in appropriate appendages :
Load the starboard 18 pounders with canister, and go pillaging?
I’m sorry to say, I believe this is the case at all businesses. It appears to be up to the individual business, though, on how strictly to enforce that. But I’ve seen signs about exemptions without documentation needed, in several places by now.
Of course, this likely varies based on what state you’re in, the mood of your state’s governor that day, the phase of the moon, etc.
Forgot to multi-quote. Forgive the multi-postings.
This warmed the cockles of my heart.
Thank you, all, for the ongoing support and love.
My Facebook gardening groups all loooove that one. Always good for a laugh. There’s a joke in there about how it’s a particularly tasty varietal, but I’m far too demure to make it.

I think of a “skimmer” as that basket-on-a-long-handle used to clean swimming pools, and had a complete WTF moment, wondering why it took so long for you to be rescued.
We get it - you got a ton of stuff done! Quit braggin’ … sheesh.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 66 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is in person deheathenization, which cranks up again this mornin’. I have ush duty for both services. Same drill as before with 50 persons max in attendance each service, masks required, every other pew roped off (odds for first service, evens for second), Communion in one kind (bread), temp checks at the door, sanitizin’ between the services, and everyone is hosed down with hand sanitizer. OK, we don’t really hose folks down, but it’s offered before enterin’ and offered to each person before goin’ for Communion. Plus other stuff I will not bore y’all with. I took a small hunk o’ beast outta da freezer yestiddy. It shall get plopped into the slow cooker along with peppers 'n onions to become my version of cheesesteaks for tonight’s sup, along with oven fries.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas, alack, woe of woe, bother of all bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the public attire. I have not worn church clothes (slacks, nice shirt, dark socks, shoes that are not sneaks) since January third. Hope I don’t go into shock.
I thawed some ground beef yesterday, thinking I’d make a shepherd’s pie (OK, technically cottage pie) but I didn’t. I need to do something with it today - salisbury steaks? sloppy joes? meatballs? new recipe?? Decisions, decisions.
Two plans today - trash/recycling run and starting my seedlings. I have one of these and several packs of seeds. The seed-starter came with a grid chart so I can keep track of what’s growing where. I think 72 seedlings will be too many, but I’m pretty sure a variety of 36 will keep us fed nicely. And so it begins - I have an uncontrollable urge to sing the theme from Green Acres!
And I guess the third chore is what to do with that ground beef… Today and tomorrow will be on the chilly side, but Tues thru Firday we’re promised upper 60s/low 70s - I will be playing in dirt this week!
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s bright and shiny out there, looks quite decent for a change. The weather app says “It’s partly cloudy. It’s not so fucking shitty” and promises me 5C/41F up to 6C/43F and partly cloudy. Seems reasonable to me.
Hmmm…thanks for those who mentioned the Friday Afternoon Problem, I had to google it to know what it meant as I’d never heard that one before. We will have to find a new name for it instead!
SCAdian thank for the pic instructions, seems simple enough that even I couldn’t get it wrong.
No big plans for today, I’ve done a workout this morning so I have nothing else on the cards, a friend is popping by later this afternoon so I had better get some lunch beforehand.
Moooom you have way more talent for art than I have, I can just about draw stick figures with a ruler and compass.
Big hugs all round today, sounds like we all need it!
BooFae - I need to say that the instructor did a pencil sketch with a general outline of the picture and theoretically, all I had to do was fill it in like a coloring book. That’s the extent of my alleged painting “talent.” Even looking at the original, I can’t manage a copy. But it’s a cheap evening out.
PS: Happy BooFae Day!!!
It has begun:
'Maters (big, cherry, and grape), cukes, zukes, peppers, beets, eggplant. The chair is placed to keep Taz from knocking over the whole shebang. Theoretically, it should all be ready to be planted outside in about 4 weeks. I’m supposed to remove the plastic cover once the sprouts appear - at that point, it’ll go out to the greenhouse. It should be plenty warm by then and it’s the only way I can protect the seedlings from the aforementioned feline.
I have a few more seeds that will be started outside once it’s sufficiently warm and I get the raised bed set up. This will be my most ambitious gardening attempt - fingers crossed. If it all fails, there’s still the Amish veggie stands. I’ve already told FCD he needs to take the trailer to get me a load of topsoil. It’s stupid expensive by the bag and I need a fair amount.
Decision made - salisbury steak. I need to run to the store for some 'shrooms. That’s a lot of decisions/accomplishments before 9AM!! Go me!!
Mornin’ all. The big plans for the day include a grocery trip and perhaps a drive past Trader Joe’s, if it’s not packed I’ll go in. Elsewise, I shall attempt to out sloth swampy.
No big plans for today. Of course, I didn’t have any plans for yesterday until that tree fell down. We have leftover biscuits and leftover gravy. I have bacon grease in the fridge, so I don’t have to cook any bacon to make more gravy. (I’ll cook more sausage, though.) That, plus scrambled eggs, makes for a pretty slothful breakfast. Not even seven, though, so I’ll be slothful for a while before I make a slothful breakfast.
Mornin’ everyone. It’s wet outside, and the dog was soaking wet when I came downstairs this morning. It seems to have stopped raining, so I shall have to fuel up to get my miles in. I managed to do 8.7 miles yesterday and ran a good portion of it. (/Walk, run, walk, run, etc.).
Tomorrow the gas fireplace will be serviced. We couldn’t even turn it on anymore. Ironically, we won’t even need it until fall now. But, it’s well past due, as in we’ve never had it serviced. I used to clean all dust and stuff out myself, but now none of the switches work, and I think the thermocouple (?) bit the dust too because there is no ignition.
I am still a long way from being eligible for the vaccine. I did finally set things up so I would receive a notification when I am eligible.
After the walk/run, I shall have to vacuum and wash floors, and finish up the last of the laundry. Other than that, I don’t have any exciting plans.
Just tread the mill for an hour. Immediately after, my BP was 138/64 - pretty good following a 3+ MPH pace!
And I finally finished getting everything together for passport renewal. Gotta take it all to the post office tomorrow, get the proper size envelope, and mail it off.
Been to Outback and ate Steak and drank my monthly Beer, then decided to get the car washed (sure way to create rain). I have soccer practice set for Tuesday and Friday and am waiting for the listing of my other team (they need more coaches) so I can practice Mondays and Thursdays (I am getting Wednesdays off…). Have sent the final team rosters to all the coaches in the ‘2015’ division (all the boys were born in that year) so hopefully that will pretty much run itself. Need to pump up a bunch of soccer balls this evening, but that’s the only planned activity.
Happy Birthdayboo fae
Emily! Ya doing OK?
Taters, my gas applicance to be giving me trouble is the hot water heater. Seemed to run out of hot water while bathing today, checked and the pilot light is on so I turned up the thermostat slightly to see if that helps. Don’t see any sign of a water leak, so maybe it was just me.
FCM, enjoy your planting.
I think that would be the Viking River Cruises…
OK, best check the e-mail to find out what I screwed up on the soccer next, then start thinking about dinner. All y’all take care.
Apparently, I should not be cooking today (too bad that I have to). Loaded the Instant Pot (beef roast), then realized I had neglected the inner pot (amazing what a mess 2 cups of liquid made). While coping with moving counter debris away from the spill, set my fabric lunch bag on the stove, which happened to have a burner on at the time browning bulk sausage for later use.
Least annoying kitchen oops: about four hardboiled eggs fell out of the container and hit the floor. Eggs turned out to be OK, and I use running water while peeling them anyway.
I was just getting my shoes on to go for a walk, when we got hit with another deluge. Two days in a row…is Mother Nature trying to tell me something? Actually, it’s not a walk per se but a trip to World Market to get coffee flavoring, which I use in tea because I’ll all cutting edge like that. They have big bottles in the flavors I like, so I want to take the babushka cart, but heavy rain requires an umbrella for me and a plastic trash bag for the cart, and still it gets wet.
I’m reorganizing kitchen drawers. I’m not sure it’s going to work and am now wondering why I started this, but I’m too far into it to go back.
Happy Birthday, dear BooFae!
Make a plan for world peace, find Jimmy Hoffa, finish the Mount Rushmore monument…that oughta take you to dinnertime.
