A wayward soul's MMP

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been quite bzzy and productive for me. Got twuck’s check up/oil change done, took care of church janitor Junior Warden duties, shopped at the Food Kitty (it’s still that this week), came back to da cave and unloaded foodstuffs. Futzed for a while, then OYKW and I went to the hog trough Golden Corral at two for late N.O.L./early sup. Had a nap after that, and now here I am!

ace sorry about the expense of new car shoes, but yay on gettin’ the jabs for hubby and you. Double yay for it bein’ so easy to get done.

VanGo yay on the bidness funs!

shoe glad you’re feelin’ better. Bon Appetit Pretzel!

nellie yay on the improved night vision. If you’re like me you take your victories where you find 'em.

flyboy hope the menudo was ummm… good?

ETA: shoe I agree with Pretzel. N.O.L. must properly behave itself!

I’m OK with Pretzel’s diet. Hey, I’m Italian and love to feed people and animals. Knowing a snake was hungry would torment me. I just don’t think I could watch a cheerful rat get gulped. Or maybe I could. I could just imagine the face of a certain failed president superimposed on the head of the gulpee.

I had to laugh over Pretzel’s refusal to eat her lunch until it behaved properly. It reminds me of the scene in Through the Looking Glass when the Red Queen repeatedly orders dishes to be removed because Alice has been formally introduced to them: “Alice, pudding. Pudding, Alice. Take it away.”

¡Es muy sabroooooooso! It’s very taaaaaaaaasty!

Oh, frick. I basked in the blissful silence for several days and even hoped the Loud Neighbors downstairs had moved out. Alas, they’re back, louder than ever, and they brought loud family with them. Apparently in the time away, they forgot how to use their inside voices. Seriously, it’s like they’re shouting all the time. I’m trying to give him laryngitis by telekinesis.

After a solid hour of all kinds of strange issues when I tried to scan the will, I finally got it done and off to the kiddles.

I’m frustrated and eyeing the bar cart, but nothing on there appeals to me. Maybe I’ll go for a walk instead.

I took the day off today to sneeze and be miserable. I slept til noon. Emptied the freezer on the porch to thaw it out. Got load of stuff to go in the garbage on Friday. Now I have an empty clean freezer so I can move the stuff from the kitchen freezer to clean it. The fridge is emptied of junk and needs a good bath before I restock it. I did more laundry.

I haven’t made up my mind if I will grace irk with my presence tomorrow or not. I am so sick of that place and until they give me a vaccine I’m not wanting to be there too much. Let them figure it out. I can retire at anytime. My plan was to make it through the summer at least. Allergies really are kicking my ass though. Just that time of the year for here.

Sorted, napped, laundered. Gordie is wagging in his sleep, so it must be the steak dream.

No wonder it’s dripping, Nyquil is taken orally, not nasally. :stuck_out_tongue:

They were acting like Noah’s dove to let you know that the snow is melting. And Re: Monkey. Alex uses claws, gravity, and the Strong Nuclear Force to weld herself to my lap, so you just have to cancel plans for the next few hours.

{{{{nellie}}}}

{{{{Butters}}}} At least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m glad that your nephew has family support dicey.

{{{gotti}}} I hope that you’re feeling good enough to get back home soon.

2_bob, when I first started at my irkplace nearly 16 years ago, we had times when we had to shut down production for lack of parts. That’s why my department came into being. Over the years, we’ve been reduced considerably, so we have to work more closely with operations to keep up.

{{{seanette}}}

I found out today that Baby mama called out yesterday and again today. I feel for her boss, since he’s fairly new to the department and inherited her. He’s doing his best to help me out getting some of the variances resolved. Baby daddy has likely stepped in it though. I found ~.$.25M of inventory from the past eight months that we haven’t been invoiced for, which means we likely did not receive it. He’s the receiving lead. Oops!

Oh, well, maybe this will get a few things changed. Now to make my menu plan and grocery list for next week.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

A lot of banks have notaries, as well, and if you’re a customer, they may stamp your stuff for free.

Meanwhile, I’m still in the hospital. A bit feverish and generally feeling like crud. Hoping the hospitalist wanders by soon so I can ask why the infections don’t seem to be cleared yet.

This was too far upthread for you to see, but my bank was the first place I called. They notarize everything BUT wills and trusts. Don’t ask me why.

I hope you catch a hospitalist soon and get some answers. Sounds pretty miserable.

If I’m remembering correctly and your infection is C diff. That is one that is reviled for being very pesky to get rid of, so patience may be required. C diff. Is rarely one and done.

Now that I have been doom and gloom here, my work for the night is done. ::flees, feeling like a meanie::

nellie, given that most banks offer financial and investment services, notarizing wills and trusts is considered a conflict of interest in most states.

Makes sense, but weird since all they’re really doing is saying “I watched them sign this”

Evening all. Decided to go to the 8U Coaches training from 6-8pm tonight (lighted field), more to get out of the house than anything, and had some fun working around and with the Littles. Helped to clean up the field so it was well past 8pm when I left and decided to go to Wendy’s for dinner. The line was long and sloooooooow, so the Cheeburger and Fries have just been consumed.

Otherwise not much to report.

gotti, if need be rugby-tackle the next hospital-person you see. That will get their attention (might also get you in restraints, but hey, it’s a gamble worth taking…)

red, sounds like someone has some explaining to do…

{{Butters}}, sleeping until noon is sometimes a good therapy in it’s own right.

VanGo, good news on the funding!

nellie, glad you got the will done. As for Pretzel’s eating habits, I don’t know that I would want to watch, but hey, like an old T-shirt of mine says, I didn’t rise to the top of the food chain by eating vegetables… It did make me recall the last time I was at the St. Louis Zoo, probably 18-20 months ago, the large Anaconda they have (a good 16-17 ft.) had a HUGE bulge in the middle of his body, I don’t know what he got fed, but it was NOT a rat.

Swampy, they’ve permanently closed the Golden Corral here in Huntsville, a casualty
of COVID I guess. So no more of their Pot Roast for me…

OK, I have warmed up some both inside and out, so need to be thinking about bed here soon. All y’all take care and I’ll catch up with you on Thorsday.

Same here. This week’s been extra weird.

Today’s hubby’s third doctor’s appointment (second one was just a blood test, but today’s with the doctor again) and then Monday I have a colonoscopy. Hopefully he gets the go ahead for a white diet (milk, yogurt, rice, chicken, white bread), which works well with my colonoscopy prep.

BBBoo I cannot see you as a meanie. And if you did turn into one, even for a moment, it would be under very extreme circumstances.

Gotti I hope they can get you sorted out quickly.

Speaking of zoos, anybody seen Wheelie lately?

Notaries are not used much in the UK and are not required for wills. As long as a will was properly signed and witnessed by two adult independent witnesses who are present at the time it is signed, it should be legally binding.

Notaries are mostly concerned with foreign transactions. I remember when my employer used to ship goods to Cuba. The invoices and bills of lading had to be typed in Spanish on special paper with no corrections and the goods sealed in wooden cases. Before shipping, they were inspected by a notary and the documents certified.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 40 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 72 and N.O.S. for the day. I’ll take it! No big plans on the agenda for the day, thus we shall futz and sloth about. Sup shall be sketties 'n meatballs, sallit and cheesey garlic bread.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good morning all. Yesterday I had my final follow up appointment with the vascular surgeon ho did my aneurysm repair. It all went well and, except for a rather gruesome scar, all is back to normal. When I got home, in mid message board post, the cable and internet shut down. They were able to schedule a same day tech. A few hours later three trucks pulled up. I had a trainee, an experienced tech and a supervisor. They worked on it for three hours and finally got me back up and running. An exciting day…

That’s how it works here in Merrylande. We considered DIY wills since we have the one daughter and she gets everything, but we went to see an estate planner attorney instead. She was most helpful - not only with the will but she gave us a list of things we should take care of. We considered it $500-ish well spent. But we still have a few items on the list to address.

Even tho my stoopit bladder woke me a couple of times during the night, I fell back to sleep right away and I’m feeling rested this morning. I’ve showered, dressed, tended the critters, and I’m breakfasting. When I finish my morning surf routine and scoop the cat box, I need to make a grocery run. I’ll probably do some laundry later and tread the mill while it’s cycling. No decision on supper yet.

FCD has a Dr appt today after having blood drawn 2 days ago. No problem - just the annual once-over to ensure his dosages are correct. Considering his diet for the last month being with his folks and on the road, I expect he may show as borderline diabetic again. We shall see what’s said.

I did a lift-and-shift on one of our scheduled cruises (for the second time.) Canada isn’t letting any cruise ships in till Feb, so our Sept cruise to New England and Canada wasn’t happening. I found a similar but better cruise in Oct 2022 and I asked our agent to change our reservation to that one. I say it’s a better cruise because it stops in Newport RI, and we like Newport! So yay!

I’ve been barraged by emails from cruise lines lately, and I understand their desire to get passengers booked again. I’ve seen a few deals I really like - unfortunately, there’s date overlap in some cases. I’m going to let things be for the moment and see how it all plays out as the plague subsides. But it’s something to look forward to.

Which reminds me - we need to get passport photos and send in our renewal applications… add to list…

Happy Thursday!!

Mornin’ all. Now it’s really thursday, and it’s snowing. Again. Got news that my folks got their second doses of the vaccine yesterday. so that’s good news. I haven’t seen them since Christmas 2019.

hippie Grow the hair out and no one will see the scar. And great to hear that it went well.

I suppose I should brave the roads and git myself over to the shop and do some good.

Stay safe, all.
