A year in MMPs – some statistics and stuff

What you said is true, but by personal and vicarious experience, aluminum wiring as an output product of a mobile home factory is a disaster waiting to happen. I wouldn’t have household Al wiring any sooner than I’d have a Federal Pacific breaker panel, even after they fixed the design flaws.

Even barring the Screw-with-it-yourselfers from the mix, I’m surprised the trailer plants haven’t been sued out of existence for using the stuff.

I’ll do one of mine if you’ll do yours!

Productivity? Here is a list of all of the ‘productive’ work I have done today:

I think it’s here. We got it from the NYTimes, but I can’t find it on their site. But the recipe I linked sounds right. I haven’t made the crust bars, but I think KeithT just made the crust from that recipe and baked it on a cookie sheet. Last year it turned into these indescribably amazing bars. This year it crumbled and made really awesome ice cream or yogurt topping.

I thought today would be the “Get Back to Being Productive Day” after the holidays and vacation and so on. But so far… not so much.

I’m going to make Chipotle Cashew Chicken for dindin tonight. It’s not KeithT’s favorite, but I like it a whole lot. I guess I’ll have to eat the leftovers myself then, huh?

Things were mostly dead at work - no one else showed up in the office till some time after 7:30, which is unusual. We discussed thru the day how we didn’t want to be there. It wasn’t too awful productive, but I did help Idiot Stupidhead to go over a file he was itching for me to have done weeks ago (which I did - he’s just getting around to reviewing it…)

I’ve got a poke roast with kraut in the oven, a fire in the fireplace/stove/insert thing, and in a few minutes, I need to feed the critters. I think my plans for tonight will stop after hemming a pair of jeans for my sweetie (they were mislabeled and are 2" too long.) If I’m really motivated, I’ll swap out the bath towels for fresh ones. Gotta pace myself, tho.

When **FCD ** gets home, I’ll get him to help me bring in more wood so we can keep the fire going all evening plus have a supply for tomorrow, since it’s gonna be cold again. It flurried a bit today, but by the time I left the office, the only white to be seen was in deep shade. Which is fine with me - I’d rather not drive in snow.

Well, time to feed the 4-legged residents…

What is your character? I’ve always gone with a ranger/magic-user half-e;f combo, usually chaotic good.

We had flurries here in Chesapeake for about an hour during lunch. Only one person at Technical Thingies panicked.

I’m playing a ranger at the moment. The thing is that I’ve never played this game properly and I’m too used to the Neverwinter Nights engine, so having more than two people in a party is confusing. So are the old D&D rules. I’ve heard a lot of praise about the role-playing aspect of it though, so I’m giving it a shot.

Not at the moment, though. I’m currently cross-stitching furiously, trying to finish this girl’s goddamn dress today. I’ve been working on the dress for like four years now.

No syllabi today. :stuck_out_tongue: for Shoshana.

I gave up and came home from work. I wasn’t achieving anything and I was freezing and achey. So I am on the couch watching Libby the crazy kitty chasing the light reflected off her new name tag on the collar I am trying to get her used to incase she gets out. She is easily amused and apparently so am I.

The people at work who actually are getting some work done are making me feel guilty for being unproductive. I did fill in a couple thousand rows of one of our databases with the word OLD. That was exciting. Yes, there were easier ways than pasting it in to the rows, but it gave me something to do.

I saw these on our friends’ kitchen cabinets while we were traveling, and now I really want them to put in our new kitchen. Even though we have brand new cabinets with brand new pulls that look just fine.

Enjoy. I’ve been doing committee work and cleaning a little bit, but I must do a syllabus today or I’ll bolt up in the night with guilt. Don’t worry, though, I have several more of them to go.

I did a stupid thing–I forgot to drop off the work plan at the library when I ran errands. Now I have to wait for the furnace man, while Daughter takes (my) sons to get haircuts. Her Mini is STILL not done. Me, I think they just didn’t touch it over the holiday weekend. It only needed an oil change and routing maintenance.
So, I called the librarian I’m going to be working with and explained. But she is there until 9pm tonight, so I can get THIS off my list. Thank god. Am sick of this hanging over my head. I just want it all done with, by this point.

It’d be nice if the furnace guy was cute. I could use a cute guy in my house for a change.

Nice knobs taxi

:snerk:

I am bored…

Etsy.com is down. Boo.

Taking a quick break from cross-stitching after a miscalculation forced me to pick out half a row of stitches. Grumble.

**taxi ** - I was watching something on HGTV this weekend, and they were installing those knobs in the kitchen. I like the look of them, but I also see all the places where gunk and yuck could be trapped.

Supper was very yum. Poke roast cooked with kraut is quite tasty, as were the seasoned N.O.T. wedges, the corn, and the snow peas. **FCD ** has finished rinsing the dishes, and I just need to cram them into the remaining spaces in the dishwasher. I think we have just enough pineapple upside-down cake left for dessert.

Is it Firday yet??

Rebo and swampy, my burgers were from a local chain called Hamburger Station. The stench of onions is still swarming through the house.

Okay, crafty mumpers… I’ve decided that for our 1st anniversary that I’d like to give TVMan a picture of us in a frame that looks like the face of an old TV. But, I have no idea how to make something like this. Any suggestions?

Maybe I’ll start a thread. Where would that go? Cafe Society or here in MPSIMS?

CutiePie put it in CS. If that’s not the place some nice mod will be along to fix it. I think they also give you hard candy.

Supper tonight was leftovers. It was yum all over again.

It’s cold here! BRRRRRRRR!!! Maybe tomorrow would be a good day for chili! MMMMMMM… chili…

Where is everybody?

I have a pot of chili simmerin’ and a cuppa hot chocolate to sip upon. MMMMMM… Chili is another one of those foods I like to make the night before and let all the spices and stuff blend together overnight in the fridge. Gonna be goooooood tomorrow!

One syllabus down.

Awww… Aren’t we cute?

Ok, so I opened my thread in Cafe Society. The above picture is the one that I’m going to put in my TV frame.
