Today was productive. I dropped the laundry off, returned the broken TV/DVD player to the warranty place, went to Trader Joe’s, and signed up for a Fair Isle class. The class project is a child’s sweater in black, red, blue, and yellow. I think it’s hideous, but I’m guessing the colors were chosen to make it easy to tell your yarn apart, rather than starting with one of these. I’d like to be confident enough to tackle an Alice Starmore by the end of the year. Like this or this or this. Yum.
I’ve also rented a small dumpster for delivery on Friday.
I’m going into work tomorrow afternoon for a half day. I’m not sure that I’ll have any actual work to do, but it will give a chance to meet with the woman covering my desk while I’m out.
I think I get to take the rest of the day off. Watching movies and knitting sounds like a good idea.
I have hot chocolate. I have cookies (but I’m not eatin’ any right now). Foot rubs are given only when “appreciation” will ensue.

(For the curious, Federal Pacific is perhaps best known as the only maker of residential circuit breakers to lose their UL listing because their products have a nasty way of having their internal contacts weld together so the power is always on, regardless of whether the handle is in the ON or OFF position, and they also don’t trip out on overloads. They’re a fire or personal injury waiting to happen.
Fortunately, they’re easy to spot - if your breaker panel is filled with breakers that have orange tips, you’ve got bad stuff. (Not to be confused with Square D’s excellent commercial grade “QO” breakers that have a little window that shows an orange flag if the breaker trips.)

Thanks for the suggestion of chili, y’all! I’ve been working on my menu for next week, and needed a hamburger idea. Chili! Yum! Then we’ll have hot dogs later in teh week, with homemade chili. Yum again! I have a recipe for beer-battered onion rings I want to try, to go with the hot dogs. Recipe on request (but I haven’t tried it before.)
Gonna go play some games, until I need to go to bed. I had night sweats all night last night, and didn’t sleep well. It sucks when you go to bed freezing, all snuggly in your jammies, and wake up at 2:00 am sweating your ass off and stripping down to nuthin’, laying under the ceiling fan. Sorry - that was TMI, I’m sure.

Gee ems, I hope you get to feeling better soon. You know what you could do for “instant” warmth? Toss one of your blankies in the dryer for a bit. That way it’ll be all toasty warm when it comes out and make you feel good. I’ve done that before. Of course, you’re probably in bed by now, so it’s probably a moot point for tonight. Think about it for future “Teh Sicks”.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmms, I think you’ve been sending Teh Sick through the CD drive over to me. Last night I felt really icky, went to bed far too late ‘cos we went out with friends and then I was achy and shivery then really hot. I don’t feel any better today (largely due to lack of sleep) and to make matters worse, I had to come into soddin’ work. Oh well, at least Tin Knickers isn’t here until next week.
So today I have eye drops, nasal spray, Lemsips and cough sweets to keep me amused. I plan to go home early though, I don’t think I could face an entire day of work!
