And so let’s recap the night of attempted sleeping: awakened at 1 a.m. by loud unidentified noises from PieDad am able to go back to sleep, awakened at 4 a.m. by loud unidentified noises from PieDad am unable to go back to sleep, at 4:45 a.m. as I sit on the couch typing this PieDad comings in and says, ‘Good Night’ and wants to know if I’m ok. :dubious:
I guess Noonie can’t come out to play today…
Gee, I step away from my computer for an hour and you miss me already?
I’m honored
Sorry you couldn’t sleep…
Hooray!
I’m so glad you’re back.
I mean, a day without you is like a day without sunshine…
I’m here for a moment, anyway, Cutie. I like the picture too. I woke up at 6:30 (not due to unidentified noises from PieDad, AFAIK), was awake for 1 1/2 hours or so, then got sleepy and fell asleep till 10:30.
The midwife’s prescription made me giggle, LiLi. Is this something you’re actually able to do?
Wow…I don’t think I’ve ever confused you with Puggy before, Taters. I blame jet lag. I believe Mooooom volunteered to do next Monday, but the one after that is free… So, would the 14th work for you??? (If not, I can do it.)
I think I slept too much because now my head is all foggy, despite two cups of tea. (It’s 11:40 a.m. here…)
Hope the sickies feel better soon.
Goddaughter has an awful cough that we hope isn’t from something that’s catching. We went to see the Golden Compass last night (pretty good, but there’s something I can’t put my finger on yet that made me like it less that I thought I would). Came home and found goddaughter and boyfriend watching 300. Not appropriate for her age. His family apparently lets the kids watch pretty much anything. So now we’re struggling with how to make clear to them that 1) this family sets limits, and 2) their age difference results in some things being OK for him, but not for her. We’re really hoping they grow out of this relationship soon. On the other hand, they’re giving us lots to talk about.
Well, off to wake up some more…
Hugs to all.
GT
Good morning, GT!
I would like the Mumpers to recognize that the mmp is still in pristine condition. The night shift has done it’s job and is relieved.
:: hands off the mmp ::
Here comes Thursday.
(At Fathom Thursday’s are my favorite. Why? Because it’s “Fun Fact Thursday!”)
beebs, do you ever sleep?
::whew:: (that’s me, being relieved)
Don’t get the bit about the Night Shift, though… why am I considered Night Shift if I’m posting during the 8 AM - 2 PM time frame?
I was about to ask you the same thing. I notice your bulb was green for just about most of the night. My excuse is that I work the night shift in a Boston city hospital. Hell, I do *most * of my posting between the hours of 11PM-10AM EST when I’m killing time on a slow night and trying to get to bed in the morning.
But at least my life is never boring. :dubious:
To answer your question, beebs, I just seem to wake up at random hours and must confess to frequent afternoon naps. But I thought that I saw you on here during the day, too.
As for my thrill-a-minute life for some reason today’s malfunction is to be unable to leave the house alone. As a result, I should be at the grocery store now but am sitting on the couch and crying while I wait for PieMom to get ready and go with me. Fortunate for me it’s her regular day off from work.
Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Ok, been up a while but doin’ other stuff, like readin’ the paper. There’s an interestin’ story developin’ locally. Monday morning, a church burned down. Arson is suspected. Sad thing, right? Well, it turns out, the church was havin’ financial troubles to the point that the buildings were set to be auctioned off for nonpayment of loans, etc. yesterday morning. :dubious: None of the church leaders will return phone calls to the local paper and tv stations. Reports say that someone was spotted runnin’ away from the church early Monday morning just before the church caught fire, hence, the suspected arson. Also, the church had apparently had its daycare license yanked. This may get quite [del]juicy[/del] innerestin’ over the next few days.
Rebo I mention makin’ a ‘nanner puddin’ and you make one. I mention chili and you make chili. If I said I was makin’ 'possum and sweet N.O.T., I wonder what would appear on the menu at Chez Rebo.
Ok, off to mess around a bit then get busy doin’ some more studyin.
Oh and it’s cooooooooooold here! BRRRRRRRR
Good morning everyone. Two days ago, it was in the 70s with highs in the mid-80s around here. This morning, it is 32 degrees with 16mph wind. This is worse than yesterday, where it was in the mid-40s. OMFG, it feels so cold as we’ve just made a 30 degree leap in temperature over a two day period.
In other news, I start classes up again on Monday and I’m looking forward to financial aid rolling into my bank account. I’ve got bills to pay.
Sadly, the repair man turned out to be (I swear) older than my father, with bad teeth and a scraggy beard. He also gave ME a lecture on humidifiers (it was The Husband who took the filter out). Gah. But furnace is fixed, so all is well. Good thing, since it’s -4 out there right now!
I am off to work. Don’t wanna. Hell, it’s money I guess. I want to curl up and hibernate for another few hours. Also, I need to get some things done here (of course the notion that I would just waste time AGAIN today is ridiculous).
Met the nice library lady who will be my site supervisor last night. I think this will work out. Phew.
Off to work. Stay warm. Oh, and I hate chili. But crock pot stuff sounds awfully good–too bad I don’t have enough time to throw something together before work.
it is freaking COLD today! But by Monday it’s supposed to be near 50 degrees again. No farkin’ wonder my whole office is hacking and wheezing and sneezing all over the place. And me with my lousy immune system…
I dunno - I don’t know where to get a 'possum. Maybe I’ll make beef stew instead of 'possum.
It’s (literally) freezing here, too - supposed to be a high of 48 or something, with strong winds. Brrr!
Just pick one up from the shoulder of the road. Duh…
My back yard. It’s nice and plump, too, and has dull, filmy little eyes that might make a person less sad to stew it.
Up and off to work. All day, every day for a while.
Is anyone ever sad to stew a possum? I mean, those critters were just made for eatin’ cause they sure don’t do much of anything else except scare the crap out of you at night thinking you just hit a cat with your car!
Speaking of stoopid animals, mine decided to bark their fool heads off this morning at a dog that got into the neighbor’s yard. So my two dogs and the one next door ran back and forth along the fence barking and barking till I managed to get my idiots back inside. Wrangling stoopid dogs when it’s 25° out and I’m in my bathrobe is not my idea of a fun way to wake up! Grr.
Sounds like things were…interesting around here last night. Again. It’s amazing how much quieter it is when Special One is away!
I’m sorry about all the sickies; please keep it to yourselves! And I’m sorry your repair guy wasn’t hot, Rigs; sadly, so few of them are. Assorted other hugs, boos, yays, etc. as appropriate.
I was a Good Girl yesterday and went and joined a gym again. The one I’d been going to before my knee surgery raised its prices to ridiculous levels, so I joined a different one this time. Which is pretty new to the area; they bought an old Safeway grocery store building and are building out a heyooooge facility. With an indoor pool and everything (although the pool isn’t open yet). So I go over this afternoon for my “evaluation,” which means they try to sell me personal trainer services, which I shall decline; I just want someplace warm to go do cardio, since I’m finding that going out walking in the cold makes my new knee ache like the dickens – it’s a very strange feeling, having the joint cold from the inside out, but that’s exactly how it feels.
I’m off to caffeinate some more. At least it’s sunny and cheerful looking out to go with the cold. Not that it’s as cold here as some of you have it, but it’s cold enough for me, thank you!
