Um, that’s interesting isn’t it, everyone?
Sort of good morning. It’s eleven.
Time to slowly drag through a few chores. If I get up at ten, dragging myself off to church for four seems awfully close to wake-up time.
I really am not doing that much. I just spent about forty minutes sewing yesterday, total. For sheets and the crib liner. I’m not going to hem the damn sheets, just zigzag stitch them so they don’t gradually unravel. The only other thing I did that needed a bit of standing was making dinner. And Mr. Lissar learned how to make garlic bread.
Good morning everyone. I’m up, but haven’t started the coffee yet. I’m feeling sort of icky; like a bad cold is coming on. I’ve got this icky feeling in the back of my sinuses and in my throat, and it hurts just a little to swallow.
Dinner was good last night and my daughter enjoyed herself. We came back to the house for cheesecake and coffee and she unwrapped presents from both of her grandmothers. She got some diamond studd earrings, a diamond heart necklace, a shirt, and a fleece jacket.
I guess I’l make some coffee now.
Mmmph. :: groggily wanders off in search of coffee ::
Morning everyone. I still feel like death warmed up. After my chipper post yestrerday I went down hill fast left work early and was in bed at 7.30. I am thinking maybes I shouldn’t have gone to work yesterday
Man Teh Sick is kicking my ass this time.
I am hoping that if I take it easy this weekend I will be better on Monday. I don’t really plan to leave the house now other than a run to Walgreens for tissues and medicine. I did (still do) have a huge list of things to be done
No signs of baby yet LiLi ?
Morning, everyone. Barely. I woke up with a ghastly headache stabbing above my right eye, which has now settled down to a moderate headache stabbing above my right eye. So I expect I will be doing as little as possible today until this headache is gone.
Other than that, I got nuttin’ today.
I got to work successfully. From the looks of things, we got 8 inches or so, a bit more in some spots. Thank Og for snowplows!
And it’s still snowing just a bit.
Otherwise, nothing much going on.
Don’t forget to check the post office after work today, snowbunny – let me know if that package arrived!
There is NO COFFEE in the house. :: twitches ::
Excuse me while I stagger off to McDonald’s.
That’s a desperate emergency, Haze! Please, make sure to plan carefully for the future to avoid ever finding yourself in such dire circumstances again!
But your mention of McDonald’s reminds me of a sad tale to tell. I just talked to my mom, and my poor niece had a ghastly thing happen to her this week. Her boyfriend, who’s a very responsible and delightful young man, has tried to stay friends with an old childhood friend who’s been in and out of trouble and be a good example to him.
Apparently Niece, Niece’s Boyfriend, Childhood Friend, and CF’s Girlfriend were hanging out watching a movie or something, and everyone but Niece decided to go to McDonald’s. They took Niece’s car, but since Niece’s Boyfriend has had a beer, he asks CF to drive. CF, however, starts speeding. Niece’s Boyfriend asks him to slow down, but he doesn’t. And then a cop spots them and turns on his lights – at which point CF, being a total and permanent moron, RUNS from the cops!   :smack:
CF ended up wrecking Niece’s car, and they all ended up on the ground spreadeagled in handcuffs. Niece’s Boyfriend and CF’s Girlfriend were released, but CF, needless to say, is in far more serious trouble. Niece’s insurance company covered the damage to her car, but the car is totaled and it’s not enough to replace the car, and of course nobody else has any insurance, so she now has to figure out a way to get a car.
And to add insult to injury, CF’s Girlfriend had the sheer nerve to call Niece’s Boyfriend and ask him to help bail out CF!
We’re all hoping that CF is now permanently consigned to the category of EX-friend.
Yeesh. Someone deserves a lot of kicking in the head. What an idiot.
Lunch and haircut completed. Actually both of us got haircuts. We are now all spiffy.
I’m thinkin’ it’s naptime. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Later Y’all!
Whoa. Isn’t there a saying about how a bad friend is worse than a good enemy? So true.
Back with coffee - crisis averted.
Dang, MamaTigs!! Sounds like a bad episode of Cops!
I’ve got HGTV on as I surf, and they’re doing a bathroom remodel. They estimate it’ll cost about $35,000. For a remodel. When we did the first phase of our remodel - kitchen, dining room, living room, family room - we spent in the neighborhood of $14K. I can’t imagine spending more than twice that much on a bathroom!!! Especially considering on the show, the homeowner is doing some of the work. What would it cost if he had it all done??
We’re getting ready to do our last bathroom. We’re figuring at *MOST * $2000. Granted, it’s not going to be a fancy bath, but for $35K, we could add an entire master suite to our house (assuming we do the work ourselves, which we generally do…)
Speaking of HGTV - does anyone find their Dream House as icky as I do? Mr. Swampington, what say ye?
Oh yeah, while we were out, we popped into the library, and I picked up a dining guide. It had ads for a bunch of restaurants I’d never heard about, so we have new places to try. Yay!
Still no chocolate in the house. I really have to address that issue.

I have almost worked up the energy to go shower…
I have had some brekkie and taken some medicine. I think the steam in a nice hot shower might help my sinuses. I am currently watching Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America…
That is one ugly house.
Other than the view, the only thing I liked about the house was some of the art.
Heh - where the heck is MBG so that we can find out about the new kitteh and (more imporantly!) get pictures?!
 about your niece, MamaTigs - so glad that noone got hurt, though.
Not much here, unfortunately. I’m getting ready to make the chocolate mayo cake, so maybe I’ll share some later. Maybe.
Here I am!!!
We have kitten. Thread to ensue with pics as soon as he quits walking across my keyboard and accidentally re-naming pictures. The last one he called “kjbhggjfd”
PS: He must still smell like shelter, because we have three enormously unhappy cats right now. I even heard Cuervo hiss, which is a first.
