The house ain’t so bad. The outside colors are a little strange but not for the Keys, I guess. I’d repaint it. IMO there’s waaaaaaaaay to much furniture in the house. Know what’s fun though? You can drag the little arrows and make the house spin around and turn upside down. I entered the contest just cause I saw the little button that said click to enter.
I’ve napped and now have a broccoli and chicken casserole bakin’ in the oven for brunch Sunday tomorrow. Tomorrow bein’ first Sunday, it’s brunch Sunday at church. Also, with it bein’ the first Sunday in the year it’s the annual Parrish meeting where we elect new Vestry members and such. I turned down nomination to the Vestry. There are some people nominated who I feel would be great Vestry members and I’m wanting them to get elected. Besides, having served six of the past eight years on the Vestry I think I deserve a rest.

Whoah. **swampy ** had LUNCH. That is sooo not what I was expecting.
ETA: You too, mmmmms? There’s a veritable **lunch ** epidemic going on.
I agree, that dream house is more like a nightmare house.
Well, I’ve defected from TVLand. I stopped at Joann’s to pick up supplies for my picture frame. I was doing good until I got to the glue. $6.99 for freaking glue! I didn’t realize how much it was until I’d already left. Fortunately I’ve got a hot glue gun that I borrowed from an employee that I imagine will work just the same. So I’m going to take the 14K gold elmer’s craft glue back.
I’ve got agree, that house is UGLY. I loved last year’s home, but this one is really “meh”.
In my opinion, that house is for old folks who like everything WHITE and boring.
I was going to take my son to get his ears lowered today, but hubby has decided he wants to take my rig to a friend’s house to watch the Seahawks game. I can drive his truck, but I hate driving it. It’s huge and it’s got a standard transmission. I have a hell of a time finding reverse with that thing, and the parking lot for the salon the kids and I go to is TINY.
Oh well, I really do need to take the tree and holiday decorations anyway. I had planned on going to Borders to use my gift card too, but I guess I can do that tomorrow. Unfortunately, the salon we go to is usually closed on Sundays.
The Flying Spaghetti Monster is here! He attended a meet and greet with the former Cottonmouths with me this morning, and will be attending a hockey game tonight. If He wants too - my friend Tammy offended Him by asking why I had a pair of hairy balls in my purse. So He may not want to go. I am sure He will make His wishes known.
I dare not bring Him in the office. I am afraid the cats will not show due respect.
Hi Noonie! I was just talking about you in **beebs’ ** best of 2007 thread over in IMHO. And how I’ll forever be your Internet Pie Slave er, or something like that.
Howdy Snakes! I’m sure FSM would greatly enjoy a hockey game. Should there be a hat trick I hear that His Noodly Appendage will touch you and bless you for the rest of your life. Plus, and you didn’t hear it from me, rumor has it His Noodly Goodness has a great fondness for draft beer in souvenir cups.
Special1 I thought we agreed to keep that our little secret.
I actually posted in a cat thread! I do believe that’s a first. Oh and MBG thinks I am on a campaign to name new kitty a specific name Bear but I am above Bear such things. Bear There will be Bear no Bear campaigns Bear full of Bear subliminal Bear messages, that suggest Bear I favor Bear a Bear particular Bear name. I am appalled Bear that anyone Bear would think such a thing Bear!
Supper was N.O.T. soup, and for a twist, we tossed peas in this time. 'Twas very yum. I also mixed up the gingerbread cookie mix that my kid’s future MIL gave me - the house smells all gingerbready. No sampling yet - they just came out of the oven, so they’re, yanno, hot!
Regarding the house, swampy, you’re right about too much furniture. Too many nicky-nackies too - I look at it and think - “Don’t you people ever put anything away?!?!?”
**Taters ** - white? Didn’t you see the gawd-awful green in the guest room or the yellow in the sitting room? I like color, but dang! The blue in the kids’ room was nice, but the house obviously was not designed by a parent. Who puts Mom & Dad on the 3rd floor and the kids on the ground floor with an exit to the deck and the water beyond?? Bad design. Stoopit design.
I did like the coral bowl-like thing on the dining room table.
Yeah, I noticed the pale blue in the master bedroom, but to me, the house seems mainly white. I also prefer warm, earthy colors over the cooler colors, so maybe that’s why it seems blah to me. Additionally, all the damn cabinets and shelves are WHITE, WHITE, WHITE. This would not last in my house.
All in all, I think most of us agree that it’s an UGLY house. This will be first year that I don’t enter the giveaway. It’s that ugly to me.
Well, I managed to haul myself to the bathroom to take a shower, but I feel like utter crap. Every inch of me is sore and my chest feels like someone is squeezing it with a vise. Crap, I hate feeling like crap. We’re supposed to go to a movie tonight, but really, all I want to do is lie down and sleep.
I still haven’t started taking down the tree. Every time I walk by it, I wince, but I just don’t have the energy to take it down. I need some of **FCM’s ** boundless energy. You need to bottle it up and send me some.
Okay, I finally saw that YELLOW room. Eiiiiiiiieeeee! My eyes! That guest bedromm color was ugly too. Ah, they’re all pretty ugly.
Still, not liking the furniture or the rest of the house either. It’s almost like they’re sick of doing it and they just slapped some shit together. I’m not at all impressed.
If I was a guest in someone’s house and they stuck me in that shade of green room, I’d figure out in short order that they didn’t want me to stay with them. <shudder>
Of course, our living room is a pumpkin color, so I have room to talk. It won’t be pumpkin much longer - I see taupe or maybe a caramel color in our future.
Speaking of color (weird segue) - when we went to breakfast in Leonardtown, where we do quite often, we took the time today to look at the memorials on the square. At the west end, there are plaques for locals who died in in WWII, Korea, VietNam, and the current fighting.
Opposite was a tall memorial with several plaques and some verbiage carved in stone. We went over and saw it was the WWI memorial, dedicated in 1921. On the west side, the plaques had * WHITE * at the top, with a list of names, ranks, when and where they died. We were perplexed at the heading till we looked on the east side and saw another heading that read * COLORED * - wow…
As I thought about it, I’m glad some politically correct activist didn’t demand it be changed. It was a history lesson as it was written. I wasn’t so much shocked or saddened as, I don’t know, pensive. Especially when you think it would have been easier for the folks of that time to just eliminate the labels and the black soldiers from the memorial. They chose to remember, but they still had to point out the skin color of the men who died.
Moving on - the gingerbread was not bad, for a mix that just required water and butter to make cookies. Still not chocolate, but I’ve got to get milk tomorrow, so I can rectify that deficiency.
You all went INSIDE that house? I am still reeling from the “curb appeal”. Good god–that is one ugly house, even for the Keys. I’ll work up the courage to go inside soon.
Keloid girl at work? Got 'em from being in a fight with another “girl”. These are not girls–these are women in their 20s. Go figure. Then I had Fun and Games with Anethesia, Surgeon and an outpatient clinic that thought I would take a patient at 1pm for a transfusion of 3 units of packed RBCs–on an old guy in his 70s. Um, no–that will take almost 12 hours. He’ll either have to go to ER or wait until Monday…
(Anesthesia and Surgeon were for a completely different matter. They were both very nice about stuff, it’s just that I didn’t appreciate them messing with the Surgical Schedule[sup]TM[/sup], and then AFTER I call the pts with the changes, call me back and switch it back to the way it was originally). But all that’s OK, because the actual work I had today would have had me home a LOT sooner! <need devious smiley here>
Wow…that’s interesting, FCM. I also think it’s good that they didn’t take down the plaques; it’s an important reminder that we have - I hope - progressed some.
I’ve speedread and noted that tinyninjachef hasn’t yet announced his imminent arrival, that MBG has a cute new kitty, and that mmmmmmmms is still unwell.
I’m about to shut down the computer as I’ll be leaving for the airport in about 3 1/2 hours (it’s just after 1:30 a.m. here). We got back from dinner at some friends’ around 12:30. Then I had to pack and set the alarm. Now I’m crawling into beddie bye.
