Shoshana, nope, no snow here. I just looked outside. You must live further north than me. I live around the Puyallup area. Oh, wait, you live in Oregon, don’t you?
Ok. I’ve been through the House. Anyone else notice no closet in the kid’s room?
Also, a second story open space, roofed and floored is (I believe) a PORCH, not a “patio”. :dubious:
What is with all the glass? Yes, the view–but none of these windows are open? The Keys are balmy and tropical–I swear, if they have AC in that house, I’ll go down there myself and rip it out!
The peach stripey wall room is like a bad acid trip. And whose fishing anything ever looked neat like that? And breakfast nook? You think I’m going to stock that (it reminds me of a hotel suite–ick) and keep that clean? You get your butt down into the kitchen and make ME coffee, dammit!
The kitchen is essentially a galley one–narrow and not more than one person friendly. Ugh.
that huge shower/bath in the Master bedroom is awesome, though.
I don’t like the color scheme OR the choices in decor. Sue me. Why does anyone need a big honking SUV on the Keys?
Where in the hell are you, GT? Heathrow AND Chicago in one day? You poor bugger. Hope the flight(s?) go well.
Yes, I’m in the Willamette Valley. This edge of the storm may not have hit Puyallup (yet).
It appears that a good portion of we MMPer’s are in agreement about the Nightmare House. I had the same thoughts as rigsy regarding the kitchen.
Hmm, it appears the Seahawks are kicking ASS. It’s the 4th quarter, and last I saw the 'hawks were leading 28 to 14. I expect Mr. Taters will be home soon. If he isn’t, no biggie. I’m enjoying the peace.
Upon edit: Yeah, I’m a good way north of you, Shoshana. If we get snow, it won’t be for a few hours yet.
That house is very ugly.
Pizza is ordered, a whole bunch of people are converging on our place, and and I think I might bake a cake in my now-working oven.
That house is atrocious. Period.
Boy oh boy have I accomplished lots of stuff today! Even though I updated my Cafe Society thread, I wanted to show all of you my finished picture here. I’d say that I’m fairly happy with it. It’s a little bit rough around the edges. If I had it to do over, I know I could do a better job. But that would take more $$ which, sadly, I do not have. Therefore, if I may be so bold as to channel FCM, he’d better like it because it’s nice dammit!
I don’t how to pronounce this right… a doooooooor-rahble.
haven’t looked at the house yet…I am guessing it is Ugly??
I finally ventured out the house at 3PM for medicine and scurried back to the couch ASAP!
Libby is sleeping in dreaming and has gradually schooched my feet off the couch where I was a lying. I am now precariously balanced on the edge I may have to sit up at this rate!
That house is the not only one the ugliest I’ve ever seen, but it is poorly designed. And obviously prone to hurricane damage. Didja notice one of the palm trees was shored up with planks?
swampy - I really do need to know. Just how does one get from pew to aerobics?
I think you did a damn fine job** Pie.**
The Christmas Village has been dismantled and boxed. The decorations have been removed from the tree. All I have to do now is remove the lights and then haul the tree outside.
After that, I’ll need to vacuum the 50 bazillion needles that are sure to drop when I try to lug the tree outside. I haven’t watered it since Christmas, but that tree is still green and supple. Who’d a thunk? I must have picked a pretty fresh one out, after all.
Still no hubby and still no daughter. My son is ignoring me in typical teenage fashion. He’s sitting at the compute next to me with his iPod plugged into his ears and gaming it up.
Sigh, I guess I should get the rest of the tree taken care of out of the house. I’d like to get my great room looking back to its normal state.
CutiePie y’all look so keeeeee-yooote! He’ll love it, trust me.
The house is uggggggg-leeeeee but for The Keys it’s good. I think we all should enter on the off chance one of us wins it and can redo it and have a big ol’ MMPFest!
-swampbear (still not Bear campaigin’ Bear for MBG Bear to name the new Bear kitteh Bear.
Old joke BioRosie. Catlicks, Whiskypalians and Luterans (at least some of 'em) spend an awful lot of church services standing, sitting, and kneeling. Hence “pew aerobics”. Stand! Sit! Kneel! Get it? Ok, guess ya just gotta be there.
Doesn’t the house seem awfully small? Once I adjusted for perspective, it seems really cramped, and the colors don’t help. I’d rather have fewer walls and more open space. The kitchen was obviously designed by someone who never cooks. Some of the apartments I looked at today had bigger and better designed kitchens. And why are the kitchen and the laundry room on the second floor, when the kids are on the first floor? Obviously, the house was designed by someone who a) has no kids, b) doesn’t cook, and c) has a housekeeper. Because what is up with all those freakin’ knickknacks everywhere?
We had thunder and lightening this afternoon. Very exciting. When it finally let up enough to leave the house, I noticed all the snow on the mountains. I think a light dusting of snow looks very pretty, as long as it stays up in the mountains where it belongs.
I tormented the cat by putting his Valentine’s ruff on. He ran and hid in the linen closet. I’m not going to humiliate him by taking a picture of him in it. Yet.
I third the poor layout. And poor use of space–do we really need 3 levels of what are essentially living or family rooms?
And the kids’ room is tiny. Bah.
I am bored, I tell you–bored, bored, bored. This is what happens when I have no new book to read, no school work to do and my normal dislike and reluctance to do any housework–which I would refuse to do on a Saturday night anways.
In case you were worried (but I know you weren’t) Monday’s OP is almost completely composed. I have to tweak it a bit, depending on what happens tomorrow, but I think you’ll like it. And it’ll be posted Monday morning between 7:30 am and 8:00 am EST (GMT-5) (unless I have insommnia tomorrow night…) so don’t anyone go jumping the gun on me, okay? :dubious:
I’m tired. :o
Just FYI–I am STILL bored. I am off to bed soon. I’ve been surfing between Graham Norton on BBCAmerica, figure skating and Austin Powers. What a waste of an evening.
In other news: it will be warm enough tomorrow for me to ride my bike to the library! I need exercise desperately.
Another good thing: I ate one the brownies I made earlier today and it felt like an anvil in my stomach, so perhaps I am actually starting to change my eating habits. Hope so–must keep it up and increase my activity.
Home. Hugs for the sickies.
