A year in MMPs – some statistics and stuff

Have you been at work all this time???

till 10pm

{{{DB}}}

That’s really crappy. Hope you can sleep well tonight. What is it that you do? I don’t remember if I know or not.

::Runs through MMP, waving from Heathrow::

(Today’s itinerary = Stuttgart - Heathrow - O’Hare - Home)

I waved in your direction as we flew into the airport, BooFae.

This keyboard is really annoying. I keep hitting \ instead of Shift. Flight was on time getting to Heathrow. (Note to self: always fly Lufthansa when given the chance. Even on short flights, they feed you. Also they’re efficient.

Weren’t you going to look for a new job, doggio?

Haven’t looked at the house or CutiePie’s link. I’ll do that when I get home. Or maybe at O’Hare. I just bought 30 minutes or so for £3.

Note to people wandering through Terminal 3 at Heathrow: if you wander over to where it says “additional seating” there’s a relatively quiet area with computers and with places where you can actually stretch out.

Depending on the price of internet and my level of alertness, I might check in again from O’Hare.

Hugs to all!!

GT

Swampy – **Roo **knows all about us, anyway… we’re sooooo busted!

**Cutie **-- I think that TV picture is adorable, too

**Rigs **-- if you’re reading this, now, then you are really and truly bored!

Hi GT! You should still be on your half-hour, I hope.

At work. Bored, too (Rigs, does that make us a team, or what?)

Dang, gt, you’re rushing about thither and yon, and I just dragged myself out of bed. Hope the rest of your trek home is smooth and uneventful. And I assume you’ll have a gazillion pics to share.

I decided to look at the house again last night, trying to find the silver lining, and I just can’t. It’s a horrid design and execution. Incidentally, rosie, I caught part of the show on HGTV where they were talking with the architect, the builder, and the interior designer. The house is actually stronger than required by code for hurricane standards. The bottom 2 floors are block construction with reinforcing rods and concrete at the core. And I don’t think the supports on that palm are all that unusual for a tree that needs to establish itself. On the other hand, couldn’t they have bought a straighter tree??

And, believe it or not, the interior designer allegedly worked with the architect and the builder to make a cohesive design. No really, she said words to that effect. I am amazed that she makes her living as a designer, since the entire package reminded me of a gramma’s life-long tchotchke-filled house - lacking only a dozen or so cats. And as I looked at the exteriors, even the view wasn’t all that great - the yard down to the water was meh.

Of course, none of that is stopping me from entering. So if I win, we can have a DopeFest in Islamorada before I take what I want from the house and sell the rest…

I don’t think we have any plans for today. I’ll do some laundry, and I’ve got to empty the dishwasher. Since the weather is a tad milder, we may go to the boat and winterize the engine, but as mild as the week is to be, maybe that can be put off till next week?? We shall see. And if I get really motivated, I’ll do something about the leaves accumulating against the back of the house. Maybe. Possibly. Dunno. 'Cause if it gets windy enough, they’ll all blow away, right??

Happy Sunday!

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Soon I will commence purtification. I also have to put the casserole back in the oven to warm up/melt cheese on top.

Hee. Everybody’s trashin’ the house. Maybe we should all leave comments as to overall tackiness. If I did win it (and that’d mean for starters enterin’ more than once) I’d have to renovate some to open it up. Like I have gazillions of dollars to do so.

It’s gonna be a nice mild winter day here, with temps in the low 70s. Oh and tonight we’re goin’ to the Epiphany Party hosted by a church member. It’s always a fun evening of Whiskypalians standin’ around cocktails in hand munchin’ hor’sovaries and chit chattin’. Yeah, wild party bunch!

Later Y’all!

swampy, there is a message board section on the HGTV site, and most people have said what people here are saying. Incidentally, did you see where this house is supposedly worth $2.2 million?!? I don’t know if that includes the furnishings…

Happy Epiphany Day, all!

I’m off soon to run some errands then to spend the afternoon at Friend’s house playing games.

Holy crap!! I just looked at the weather page - in theory, we could see 70 on Tuesday! Outside!! In winter in Maryland!

I’m awake. I’m not sure why, though. I was up until about 1:30. But nature called and here I am. Now I’m eating Kix and living it up with the PiePups.

PieMom has asked me twice now what I’m doing today. :smack:

Purtification has taken place and casserole is doin’ its thang in the oven. I’m sure y’all were just sittin’ there waitin’ to hear this.

Mooooom it’ll be low to mid 70s here today which is warmish even for south Jawja in January. I was outside a little bit ago and heard birds chirpin’ away like it’s Spring. Weird.

Happy Epiphany to you too BioRosie!

up and back at it. timing is off today, my coffee machine cut off after one cup was brewed, and my PC wouldn’t boot for 5 minutes.

gt, haven’t really had time to look. That and the recruiters are from places that might actually be worse.

Good Sunday morning all! Up and caffeinating here too.

I checked out that HGTV house too, and like most everyone else think it’s poorly designed–and the kitchen is definitely a disaster; way too small. If you win a house, do you have to pay taxes or something on it? Seems to me like you do, and on a car too. Hah, whoever wins the house & hummer (is it a hummer with it?) better have a chunk of change on hand.

FCM is right - it’s supposed to be up near 70 degrees on Tuesday!! This sort of weather is definitely pneumonia inducing. Now I don’t know if I can even wear my new togs because the tops are long sleeved and the pants are heavier than regular pants! Bah, I’ll probably wear em anyway, just with a lighter jacket.

Off to forage for food. GT, whereever did you go? You were all the way over in Germany?! Have a safe journey back to Columbus, and we do expect some pics from all this now, you know.

MBG, I love your new kitteh, but you need to post his pic over here too.

I hate eggs.

But there was nothing else to eat here. Now I have egg breath. Blech.

The 2.2 million must be for the location. Truly.
I liked the master bath, but the other baths were tiny and meh.

The yard and landscaping wasn’t much to look at either. The Keys are gorgeous–why not a few beach roses, some lantana etc? Palm trees are somewhat boring…

Am off to grocery store. The Husband didn’t come home last night. He had his company dinner (which he invited me to, but since I didn’t know when I was coming home from work, I declined). As he was leaving he mentioned that they had a block of rooms in the hotel where the banquet was being held. Now, if I had known that, I would have jumped on it–I haven’t had any time “away” since I don’t know when. Then again, I would have had to have sat through a company dinner (all–ALL–of his coworkers are divorced, and bitter with it. Not exactly fun company). So, perhaps I was better off bored at home. Dunno. He is on his way home now (hungover).
I have plans today! This is very exciting. Here ya go:

  1. grocery store. <sigh>

  2. take DVD back to out of the way DVD place because regular place didn’t have House.

  3. lunch

  4. ride bike (it’s 52 here!) up to library and check out books.

  5. ride home.

  6. avoid any and all housework.

  7. read book of choice

  8. #2 son’s laundry

9.make dinner

  1. watch bad TV.

What a day I have planned! I’m not sure I can stand the excitement of it all… (can you tell I’m still bored?)

I’m going to Mass today for the first time in ages. I hope I don’t get struck down by lightening or anything.

It’s 50F outside. The weather, she is insane.

Well, apparently whatever it was that Papa Tigs had over New Year’s weekend he gave to me; I ended up going to bed midafternoon yesterday and staying there until this morning. It’s safe to say I felt like total kee-rap, too. The headache is finally gone this morning, but I still feel limp as a dishrag, so I don’t think today will be a particularly ambitious day.

I skimmed what I’ve missed but right now it’s all kind of a blur, so hugs, boos, yays, get wells, happy travels, etc. to everyone.

Is it bedtime again yet?

Epiphany Mass is nice. Having the kid on Epiphany would be nice, but I think I need to wait until after my scheduled massage this evening.

My sewing machine is having a snit. It breaks the thread every inch or so. I’ve done stuff to the tension, changed needles, and rethreaded. It just hates me.

Glad you’re feeling better, MamaTigs.
Hi, gt!

Laundry and lounging around scheduled for today. And some minor tidying. Mostly I’ll watch Mr. Lissar do it while I sit.

Morning, all.

Good Og, it’s snowing again. There’s upwards of a foot on the ground! If it ever stops I will get some pictures, but I won’t be out of work until it’s dark. Maybe tomorrow.

Otherwise, nothing’s happening. Getting here was…interesting. I hope the plows can catch up later in the day, but I can crawl home if I have to.
