Abortion Cams? WTF?!?!

Let’s find the damn thing, and all dance in front of it.

In the nude.

Then we can accuse the abortioncam folks of peddling porn.

I really, really try to stay out of abortion threads; and I really, really try to stay out of threads in which US people invoke the First Amendment, but for goodness sake aren’t at least some of the people entering this clinic minors (who should, by law be protected from their identities being “published”) and aren’t some attendees there for other purposes?

If I visit the US and I happen to be walking past a clinic which offers TOP, can I not do anything about it if my picture appears in someone’s propaganda without my having signed a release?

Remind me not to visit any strip joints, swingers clubs, sly grog shops, or gambling venues if I ever visit the US, if that’s the case…

And they sued Oprah for damages when she said she wasn’t eating burgers. What odd laws you have.

This should piss Horsley off

Ooh, can I chase them around with a pink dildo too? Hey, everyone can bring their toys from home! Squirt KY at them. Let’s make this a Porn To Remember! Check your nightstands folks.

…so, basically, if I go to a Planned Parenthood for a Lunelle shot or an exam, they can put my picture on the Internet, thus potentially informing my parents of the fact that I, an 18 year-old, am (was) sexually active?

Fuck that.

If there are regulations that allow for anonymity in an abortion clinic, there should also be something allowing for that anonymity outside the clinic. To me, it’s open and closed. Taking pictures of people expressly to humiliate them (possibly ruining their lives) isn’t what I would call freedom of speech. And, if they aren’t extremely careful with their wording, they could go up for slander/libel. I think.

It’s really simple. Just walk around those people taking pictures and take pictures of them. If they ask what you’re doing, answer, “We’re digitally altering your image to make it look like you’re having sex with a horse, and then we’re going to E-mail it around the Internet.”

Or you can get big pieces of posterboard with “God hates voyeurs” written on it and hold it up in front of the cameras.

Having worked as a nurse in an abortion clinic, I can tell you first hand exactly how twisted these types are. I am a fairly (cough…cough;) ) opinionated person that does not have a problem with telling people when what they are doing is flat out wrong in my eyes. However, I only lasted in the clinic for just over 6 months.

It did not bother me being the person to assist with the abortion or hold the patient’s hand. It did not bother me to bite my tongue when the few women that were known repeat customers returned. The fact that we could not answer a phone call that did not show up on caller ID did not bother me. I was even gasp able to go home and look at myself in the mirror and not have any problem with what I saw.

So, one might ask…‘Wildcatz, what was it that DID bother you?’ Funny you should ask that. Because I am more than happy to tell you. Pull up a chair.

  1. It bothered me that on the days that we did procedures, we would be inundated with nasty, foul mouthed people calling in to tell us how we were all going to hell. Not just the workers in the office, mind you, but even those patients that were just coming in to have a free pregnancy test or a less expensive sonogram. Yep, that’s right, every singlefuckingone of us are going to hell.

  2. It bothered me that there were a few very young patients that were there to have abortions because of rape or incest were shown horrible, awful pictures of what we would be doing to the fetus. These fucktards would show the young people pictures of a late term abortion. You can imagine what emotional state the patient was in to begin with, but to shove a picture like that into her face? Get a grip.

  3. It bothered me that every so often (usually about every two to three weeks) we would get a bomb threat. This was in FL, we all remember the one doctor in Pensacola, FL that was gunned down in front of his clinic. We didn’t take these threats lightly.

  4. It bothered me that most of the zealots that would picket and shout obscenities at the patients and staff had NO reasonable solution for the pregnancy. (yes, I asked them. no, they didn’t have any answers…other than give the baby up for adoption. When asked if they would take one of these unwanted children the average response was ‘I can’t, but there are plenty of childless couples out there.’)

  5. Most importantly it bothered me when they started videotaping me, my car and my tags when I would get to the office and again when I would leave. THAT is what made me stop being willing to go into the office everyday. I like living. I don’t want to stop because someone else decides that I am a bad enough person to kill.

The fact is that abortion is an intensely personal decision that is not painless. It is not painless physically OR mentally. The final decision/act is between the woman (or couple) that makes that choice and whatever deity or nondeity she/they subscribe to. We all know this. Why make it harder for the patient or those of us that care enough to be there for the patient?

When asswipes like this pull a garbage publicity stunt like this, it quite literally makes my blood boil and makes me almost, but not quite, want to return to working in a clinic. If for no other reason than to let the women know that some of us out there do care.

Pardon me, I think I need to go vomit now…

The abortion debate has become guerilla warfare, a most uncivil war. It is unfortunate, but there are those who are so intransigent and sincere in their views that they feel compelled to put all stops to halt the procedures, whether the procedures legal or not, in the name of saving babies. And there are sympathizers to the cause that have high positions, including those in the current administration.

Wildcatz, you are my hero.

If I ever get old and terminally ill, I’m going to switch over to OB/GYN and work in a clinic performing abortions. I’m going to walk in and out of the clinic several times a day, completely unarmored and unguarded, and I’m going to anonymously e-mail the folks at the Nuremberg Files to make sure their information is accurate.

I figure it would only be a matter of time before I would be shot, car bombed, whatever…if I’m going to go out, why not go out in a blaze of irony, shot dead by a pro-lifer? Killed because life is precious?

We had a real nutcase of a state legislator around here in the early 90’s who used to videotape people going into the local adult video stores. That was long before the internet, so I’m not sure who exactly was supposed to be seeing the tapes…

Dr. J

What an amazing phrase!!

Maybe he got off on it?

I thought you’d be interested to read the text of an email that I have just sent to the feedback address on the Nuremberg Files site:

(The above is, BTW, completely true. I’ll post a copy of any response I recieve).

Very sorry to hear about your losses, Mangetout, and all credit to you for contacting these freaks. Let’s hope you get a reply soon.

BTW I’m not really in any doubt as to what my God is capable of doing, so I suppose there’s a little white lie in the message I sent.

I expect God would admire your message for its pursuit of truth

All I have to say is, don’t think these people are typical pro-lifers. They aren’t, and they give pro-lifers a bad name. I would love to see this guy’s site shut down, and this guy have his ass kicked.

Don’t worry - I don’t regard these people as representative of pro-lifers any more than I regard them as representative of christians. They are abortion terrorists, in the same way that Al Qaeda are terrorists, and not representative in any way of muslims.

Abortion cammer, meet baseball bat.

Does it make any difference wheather or not they are actually making money off said pics?
