Rewind. Read original post. Read my reply.
I had a Cockney friend that I thought had an Oedipus complex.
Turns out he just didn’t like cats.
Now I’ll just and wait and ogle these old pics of the yummylicious astrophysicist in this thread.
Sorry, brain not functioning - was reading posts late at night, after travelling!
NoClueBoy, which thread would this be then?
The threads you was wearing when you decided to change clothing during a pub crawl. I swear I got in my car to drive on over, but the toll takers for the Big Ass Atlantic Bridge wouldn’t take American Express.
I really like Scottish and Irish accents. There’s a chemistry professor at my university who is from Scotland, and I love it when he calls for a long-distance line.
Southern German (which includes some Austrian and Swiss); also some Eastern European (Bulgarian is very very nice.)
Norf London makes me homesick…
English is nice, although that horrible “Weakest Link” woman nearly ruined it for me. Then I saw a U.K. woman on the Tonight Show demonstrate that she could swallow the leg of a chair, and suddenly an English accent was sexy again.
And that nice lady at Scenic Bird Food with the Southern accent, mmmmm. . . .
French does it for me. Must say I’m not surprised to see Irish and Scotts there. Strangely no Welsh nominations
Most interesting thing for me is that noone nominates their own language. For instance, I’m English. I know a lot of people like the accent (agree with the “especially spoken by a cute redhead”) but it’s not unusual to me. Presume you guys are the same.
Also nominate States accents especially New Yorkers (Bronx excepted). Maybe it depends on the person tho? e.g. An Irish accent can never be sexy enough to cover up the fact that the person is just plain dumb or charm less…
I nominated the Welsh! I love that sing-songy thing…but then I also nominated Scousers so I might be odd (I married a Scot though).
I’ll give it to the Welsh too.
Enough like mine (Irish) so as not to be too weird and but at the same time different enough to remind me that it’s not.
Aaah yes. I’m just glad that pictures from my younger days, when a friend and I demonstrated that one could in fact remove one’s bra in public without exposing oneself, aren’t floating about.
Ah but wagging school and removing uniform and replacing it with jeans and t-shirt while sitting at the back of the bus…with no one noticing, now that was a skill.
Accents, is it? British is a good one, and points go to the ladies with good Latin accents
My favorite, however, has to be a well-done Souther Belle accent. The most beautiful voice I ever heard was one of those. I wasn’t aware that an accent could inspire a person to stare until I met her. Her laughter brought to mind windchimes. Man, I wonder what happened to her…
