I know, right? You have a show where the premise is that when the main character dies they can come back as LITERALLY ANYBODY, and he’s complaining that the scope is not narrow enough.
Don’t be ridiculous. Portrayals of famous American presidents should be scrupulously accurate.
He (slowly) catches on that he has not stated the most obvious truth of all time, and then eventually realizes that he looks bad because if it, and begins softening his stance.
That doesn’t mean I believe he has actually moderated his opinion. I think he just trys to save face by backing off a little bit, you know, to show he is a reasonable, thinking individual.
My one and only warning on SDMB came when Acey said something completely stupid, and I responded with a post that earned me a warning for insulting. (well deserved, not disputing it)
I think you’re on to something. Sometimes he inverts the pattern (starts with the dopey question, ends with the I-am-so-smart comment) but the middle section of an Acey post is almost always an irrelevant personal anecdote.
It was worth a try. I know of at least one instance where the mods apparently ignored an insult directed at Acey.
If that poster gets a retroactive warning because you just narced him out, that will be some fucked up bullshit right there.
That was almost a year ago. I doubt they want the shitstorm.

I don’t think he’s malevolent. I think of him more like a Yahoo user, or some old person on Facebook who just takes every image macro as gospel.
Those used to really frustrate me, but then we got the real assholes rather than the clueless ones.
That’s funny, because that’s exactly what my own internal dialog was when I first started to notice him, which was well before I ever saw anybody else gripe about him. I even considered being the first to gripe a few times, but then I realized he mostly means well, but is pretty well blind about some things and pretty well brainwashed about some others. And that reminds me of my father enough that I guess i already knew how to just blow it off.
Meanwhile, he often provides the opening to fight ignorance in a relatively pleasant and nonconfrontational way, so I say he does his bit to help with the general mission around here, one way or the other.
