Holy shit this dude has me irritable this morning. He started a thread about how the evil drug using Lisa Marie has mismanaged the estate so badly that Graceland is being auctioned off. Turns out the whole thing was/is a scam. He’s always so quick to jump to the absolute worst conclusion on just about any story that will show a bad light on someone he already fucking hates. He makes a fool of himself every time. He is a piece of shit and I bet he thinks he’s a good guy. He should fucking apologize for the way he disparaged Lisa Marie. May he be judged as harshly as he judges others. Fucker.
Consensus seems to be he’s more careless and simple than mean-spirited, but I confess he irritates the hell out of me too. Very adept at jumping to the worst conclusions and trusting the first thing that he reads. And then, as he gets better information from other posters, blithely shifting his stance to suit. I guess that’s better than blindly sticking to his (wrong) guns, if he would ever once say “oops, I guess I got it wrong.”
He’s a savant when it comes to music, musical instruments and music theory. He understands these things to a very complex level and writes about them very intelligently. On everything else his takes are incredibly simple minded in general. It’s just bizarre.
He’s very knowledgeable about and has good taste in country music and gave me some very good recommendations for artists and albums, but he’s just so naive in any other subject. But you have to admit that maybe his most frequent exclamation is “I didn’t know that”, few of the other AAW (almost always wrong) people on the Dope ever admit their ignorance. OTOH, as you said, then he posts another OP about a subject he knows jack shit about and makes a fool of himself again. And again.
It’s not just taste in music. It’s very complex music theory stuff that is beyond my understanding but I understand enough to know that he is correct. And then look at the Russia/Ukraine thread. He finds excellent links and then posts the most simple minded analysis of them ever. He was warned/noted at least five times to not do analysis at all until he was able to figure it out. The dude is a conundrum but on the whole provides value.

I’m surprised he would diss Lisa Marie Presley. Usually he cares about injustices only if a good-looking fair-haired damsel is at risk. Maybe he threw Mama Lisa Marie under the bus for the sake of Riley, younger and fairer.
I have to admit, that would confuse me, I would think it would count as a bare link if I didn’t try some sort of analysis or summary. I would definitely assume you just wanted me to do a better job.
He seems like a nice guy over all.

It’s like telling somebody to look both ways before crossing the street. Ok, maybe the first few times they’re not used to it. After a few hundred times and watching them dash out in the street again, they’re clearly a few sandwiches shy of a picnic.
It’s a breaking news thread. A summary is expected. To then go and speculate on what it means going forward isn’t allowed at all in breaking news threads even if it’s brilliantly insightful because it leads to hijacks. You wouldn’t be confused or maybe you’d screw up one time. It’s not that difficult and he finally did figure it out.

Yeah, I was in Spokane a few months ago and my client was bitching about Seattle. I told her things were a lot better now, and she was truly confused. It’s like I told her Canada was now in Europe. She could not comprehend what I was saying. So, I explained that they cleaned it up for the Taylor Swift concert last year, and then she got it.
Yeah, I was warned by some folks a couple years ago when I told them I was visiting Portland. They thought it would be a bombed out hellhole with zombie-like homeless people wandering the streets accosting all and sundry.
They were a bit confused when I got back and told them the microbreweries were decent, there weren’t rioters in the streets, and everybody was mostly complaining about the heat dome and traffic than anything else.
The right wing news machine is legitimately worthy of respect for its efficiency, though not for anything resembling journalistic integrity. Unfortunately, it’s dedicated entirely to evil, so I hope it and all the people involved rot for eternity.
