I don’t see that at all. I think he’s just kinda gullible, and listens to the type of sensationalist, overdramatic stuff my dad watches. I notice he also will make thread about one of those sensationalist media videos—the ones about celebs and actors and stuff.
But I do think he is firmly anti-Trump, and liberal if not progressive. I think he doesn’t have a good BS filter. He relies a lot on the board to help him tell what is true.
My dad also does this. He never buys into Trump-level hatred, or being scared of people not like him. But he’ll still sometimes assume that the right wing stuff got the basic facts right. But he listens and learns when I debunk things.
I don’t have any problems with Seattle or San Francisco. I was using them as two examples of progressive run cities. There are others like Portland.
The Walz thread was discussing his alignment as a progressive politician. I was trying to understand what that means. How would he govern if something happened to Harris. The best examples of progressives measures are in Seattle, San Francisco and Portland. The true test of any political theory is to see the results. Some Progressive politicians have been in charge in those cities for several years.
I wasn’t attacking Walz or progressives. I was trying to contribute to an election thread. I’ve already accepted Harris as the only sensible choice in this election. I have never liked her, but she’s a thousand times better than Trump.
he so much reminds me of a poster from about 2 decades ago… anyone remember December ? another vague old dude except I think December was a bit more conservative
The problems in progressives cities are well known. San Francisco has been discussed in imho threads.
Homeless tents on the sidewalks.
Drug use directly outside the stores.
Shit on the sidewalks
Businesses closing because people are afraid to go downtown and shop.
Woke DA’s refusing to prosecute crime
Seriously, if you don’t trust the old 3 networks & CNN, try Reuters or BBC news. They’re pretty objective. Well the BBC is pretty objective about the US at least.
I use that pair and NPR, but NPR is considered a Liberal mouth piece by some sadly.
See, that’s your problem. Folks like you don’t really care what’s outside their small comfort zone, but are eager to judge the world without ever going there and getting their info about it from biased and outright lying sources.
That’s not an accurate description of Seattle at all. Yes, there have been problems, especially a few years back, but currently Seattle is Progressive and doing fine. I’m off to a Mariner game tomorrow night, and I don’t expect to see homeless tents on the sidewalks, drug use outside of stores, or shit on the sidewalk. You’re buying into deceptive right wing talking points.
Right. Few would. That’s how you can know it’s not real.
