In a recent thread about wierd bands, one name kept coming up that I was not familiar with, Acid Mothers Temple. I listened to a couple of their Myspace songs, and am digging it.
So where do I start? Their discography is daunting, to say the least…
Don’t really have much to help you with, but one of my first college experiences during the first week of orientation (way back in '03) was walking the trail near the woods of the College of W&M, and coming across a flyer on the ground. The page was covering in trippy images and this CRAZY looking band- and it was advertising the visit of “Acid Mothers Temple” to the college at some point in the past year or so. I grabbed the flyer though and showed it to my hallmates and we all agreed it must have been a prank or something, because NO Band could exist that could fulfill that level of trippy images and such a WEIRD Band name. So it was great to learn few months later that the band actually WAS real and did actually exist- the name is now forever ingrained into my head and it always brings back fun memories (whenever I [rarely] come across it)!
So thanks for the pleasant thoughts!
HAHA glad I could help. Listen to ten seconds of thier music. It will probably make you think that flyer drastically undersold thier trippy-ness
