Artie Lange - if he’s in it you know its going to be bad.

I once met Max Grodenchik (“Rom” of Star Trek: DS9) at a convention. He talked about the episode “Bar Association”, in which his character tries to organize the workers at Quark’s Bar. I suggested he call it Norma Rom. He was amused.
Thanks for mentioning Farrell everybody, gahhh he sucks!!!
I had even put “not to be confused with Bill Pullman” in my post ,but erased it.
She makes me shudder, too, but in a good way.
Anyway, my list:
Adam Sandler. Couldn’t stand him when he was on SNL. Heard some of his later movies were ok, but I can’t bring myself to spend money on renting them.
Tom Green. Absolutely refuse to reward this man by ever spending a penny on anything he’s done. Actually, ‘spending a penny’ on his life’s work would be appropriate.
Mel Gibson. I like his past work, but now just makes me feel dirty.
Tom Cruise. ditto.
I normally don’t dislike any particular actors or actresses. I tend to look at the movie as a whole and not pick on a person from the movie. But Juliette Lewis annoys the living shit out of me. She has been in several movies I liked: Strange Days, Natural Born Killers, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Kalifornia, Cape Fear. She was the center of suckitude in every single one of those; the only dark point in what were otherwise decent movies. The only movie I think she was perfectly cast in was The Other Sister, which I never saw because I had no interest in the premise or the actress. She was perfect for the part because her delivery of any line makes me think, “Now there’s a girl who has some ‘mental challenges.’”
And that’s two too many. While her resume isn’t extensive, it seems like I always manage to find her on tv.
The mere sight of Bill Paxton’s face fills me with an overwhelming desire to scream obscenities at the screen. It’s best I avoid his films.
mm
Really? I had the hots for her in high school circa Soul Man.
To answer the OP -
Adam Sandler
Tom Cruise
Nicole Kidman
Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie
John Travolta
Halle Berry
and many, many more.
Meg Ryan. I don’t hate her peformances THAT much but I have yet to see her in a film I’ve really enjoyed. So now, I never watch any film she appears in to save myself the grief.
I also don’t like Meryl Streep in serious roles because I can never shake the notion that she is Acting with a capital A. However, I enjoy her rare ventures into comedy roles.
This from IMDB: “According to Katharine Hepburn’s official biographer A. Scott Berg, Meryl Streep was her least favorite modern actress on screen: “Click, click, click,” she said, referring to the wheels turning inside Streep’s head.”
I read that book several years ago and now I think of Hepburn’s comment instantly whenever I see or read about Meryl Streep.
Adam Sandler
Rob Schneider
Martin Lawrence
Chris Tucker
Owen Wilson
Vince Vaughn
I’ll add another vote for Adam Sandler. He just makes me cringe.
There there’s Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Leslie Nielsen, the entire cast of every “Police Academy” movie ever, and I’m sure there are a few more.
Ashley Judd. She’s the Richard Gere of women.
(also, as far as I can tell, this is post #74 and no one has mentioned Tom Hanks even though just about every other known actor in the free world has been mentioned. To me, that’s a good thing. He’s one of my favorites.).
Tom Cruise. Top Gun was on TV and I was reading a book and only looking up when planes came in until my brother said “hey, isn’t Ice Mad Mardigan?” Oooooooh, eye candy!
Jim Carrey.
Jack Nicholson.
I went to see “le llaman Bodhi” (no idea what it’s called in the original) for the Swayze eye candy and came out saying “what’s that cutie who played the cop called?” There’s movies where Keanu actually does some acting and others where he’s just eye candy but what can I say, I have a soft spot for him since I found out we were born the same day
It was called “Point Break” for those who might be curious.
Charlie Sheen - this is a pity because, Like Tom Cruise, he’s been in some otherwise good movies.
Keifer Sutherland - like Sheen, he’d be nothing were it not for a successful Dad.
Tom Cruise - barf.
Keanu Reeves - Geez, Point Break could have been an awesome show were it not for him.
Christian Slater - perfect in True Romance, horrid in everything since.
I forgot–Andie McDowell, ever since she shat all over Four Weddings and a Funeral. She managed to get through Short Cuts since the role called for a mumble-mouthed catatonic person but even there it was touch and go.
Did you see her in “The Human Stain” opposite Anthony Hopkins? I thought she was wonderful. Good news! She temporarily lost the “tight hair”, which annoys the shit outta me.
Keanu was great in “The Gift.” An evil motherfucker from the bowels of hell. It’s his niche. Otherwise, I hate him.
