Okay, cool, I can see that. Thanks. I mean I don’t agree in the sense that he doesn’t come across to me that way, but your descriptions of not just this character but with other characters of his (Adrian Cronauer also, I would imagine), yes I can see your points.
I’d forgotten about that scene and of how good Stellan Skarsgård was there.
Based on this, @FlikTheBlue’s points, of the actor I mentioned (Matt Dillon), and the other ones for the other posters here, I can’t help but think there is a visual and aural link to the actor’s looks and sounds with the effect that the actor has on us, that completes or at least connects the distasteful reaction for us.
I’ll admit that it’s true for Matt Dillon and me. Definitely true. It’s an emotional connection to that dislike. Might be true for others here.
