Actors/resses that makes you NOT want to see a movie

Oh, gosh, forgot Kevin Costner. Top o’ the list of must-avoids.

Martin Short. Again a nice guy, but horribly unfunny to me.

Oh, yeah - Martin Short bugs me as well. I can tolerate Three Amigos because it’s an ensemble piece and despite all the mugging for the camera at least they are taking turns. But something about Short…

Dustin Hoffman. Been in some good movies and he’s played some roles well, but then in the wake of Me Too it it came out what a rank and predatory a-hole he’s been. So he’s out.

Yeah, us too. Talk about a guy who totally demolished his career by revealing himself as a complete asshole. He’s right up there with Mel Gibson in my book. It’s too bad. He had a good career going as a second banana, playing character roles, much like Jack Nicholson did a few years back.

Has Hoffman even done anything recently, or is he now Hollywood taboo?

Crap, he’s my favorite living actor. I must have missed something. :see_no_evil: :hear_no_evil: :speak_no_evil:

Yeah, please expound on his various sins.

Google “dustin hoffman sexual harassment”.
This is just one of many articles, from 2020:

Yeah, well…that’s too bad. I could still listen to him read the phone book.

He’s in Coppola’s (most likely disastrous) new epic.

He’s also been paying the bills with the Kung Fu Panda movies.

Jared Leto

Shia LaBeouf

Bradley Cooper

sorry, I have to disagree with “Bound”–weak dialogue (how many times saying I knew you were going to say that), wooden speaking, chemistry forced. Nice plot though

Johnny Depp. He just looks like a grade-a creepo and I never saw the appeal.

Seconded. He was perfect in Edward Scissorhands, though.

“Oh, Bryan Cranston and Keanu Reeves have decided to work on a new project! Cool, I’ll have to see what these creative professionals at the top of their fame have chosen to do with their time on this planet.”

“Oh, Nick Cage has a new one coming out also. Must have needed more money for T Rex skulls.”

And I even like the guy, but lets be real about who is doing what here.

Matt Damon on my list. Exeption is the Mars movie. Also add Jackie Chan, Jean Claude etc, in fact all martial stars. Boring actors. I enjoyed Chan in 80 days though

Mark Wahlberg. I wouldn’t want to run the risk of enriching the asshole somehow.

Arkin said about this, “You don’t get nominated for being mean to Audrey Hepburn!”

I just watched It’s a Wonderful Life and the scene where he and Donna Reed are on the same phone is a masterful work by both of them, and always tears me up.

Tear, rhymes with ‘near’.

Oh. Rhymes with o.
