Take it out of the motorcycle fund.
Motorcycle fund has nothing left to take.
Corned beef and cabbage for supper - I add the veggies in about an hour. The corned beef is smelling yum!!
All of the trim is installed, as is the support on the breakfast bar. I gave the inside of the window frame a coat of white, and it’ll get another later today or when I get home tomorrow. We need to pick out fabric to cover the breakfast bar chairs and either the same stuff or something in the same color family for the kitchen curtain. We’ll get it all done yet… eventually… one of these days…
Higgs is barking at the Puppy Bowl, running from the TV to the front window, perplexed that the doggies aren’t out on the lawn. She’s hilarious!!
Afternoon!
Mr ems is headed to Texas and I have scrubbed the house from top to bottom - bed sheets changed, washed and dried and about to go back on the bed, 2 loads of laundry done that just need to be folded, kitchen scrubbed down including cabinet doors, house dusted, shoes by the door sorted and put away, vacuumed and steam mopped and both bathrooms scrubbed and mirrors cleaned. Oh and cat box changed out.
I now have the oven on ready to cook some chicken boobs for tortilla soup as well as a butt load of roasted veggies. Then I am going to get my sauce started for lasagne and let that simmmer for a couple of hours. I was going to make Thai green curry and cook spaghetti squash as well but I think I might do that tomorrow night for supper.
I have Tons of energy today. Does anyone need anything cooked or cleaned or washed or folded etc?
::raises hand:: Ooh, ooh, me, me, me!
ems, you are more than welcome to come to my house and be that energetic. Energy…I has none…
I really need to go to the grocery store and get some dog food, plus a few other odds and ends, but I haven’t even showered yet.
One of our best friend’s sons is in the hospital and it’s not looking good. He is only 27 years old. I’m not real clear on what even landed him in the hospital, but at midnight last night, while we were at our friends’ home, they received a call from the ex. The son’s heart had stopped, they had to do a tracheotomy, and he was going to be put in ICU.
He woke up a few times during the course of the night, but would go into seizures, and then back into a coma. It’s looking really, really bad. The doctors say that even if he comes through this, he will be brain damaged. His lungs are severely damaged now too and something was said about pneumonia as well.
He was, as far as we knew, a healthy young man. He posted on FB just three days ago.
When we found out, B immediately headed down to Vancouver, which is about 2 hours south of us. We are all worried sick.
Good thoughts would be appreciated.
I wish we could something to help our friends, but I guess all we can do is be there for them when they need us.
I am making positive waves.
MOG had a fantastic bday N.O.L. today. Good Bloody Marys, good food, good friends, much laughter. Anywho, dishes are all done and da cave is quiet now. Da bear is, however, tahrd! I turned down an invite to a Super Bowl party this evenin’ just cause I don’t want to change out of tshirt, sweatpants and robe.
Prayers and good thoughts headed out to your friend’s son Taters. This would be tragic at any age I suppose but it just seems so much more tragic when it’s someone that young.
MOOOOOOM mention was made of corned beef ‘n cabbage this mornin’ at the church house. See, our chief corned beef ‘n cabbage cooker, my friend Tommy, is no longer with us. Y’all may remember me talkin’ about Tommy last Summer. However, we are in possession of the recipe. It won’t be the same without him but it can be done in his honor. Discussion of the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper was also had. I reminded that we must have way more bacon than we had last year as we ran out too early.
Sometimes I think cookin’ occupies a space in my life that is way bigger than it should be.
Name the time and place
Taters I will gladly come to yours and help out I know you are stressed out and maxed out right now. Thoughts headed out west to the family. 27 is way to young.
Sauce is simmering g…soup is souping and I need to go give the roasted veggies a stir.
LibbyCat is currently ‘door fighting’ the huge grey neighborhood cat (that could literally eat her for lunch) who is doing his afternoon rounds. She is all puffed up and hissing and he is looking bemused at best. I think she is his entertainment.
Off to fold towels! I have also washed bath, ats and the doormats as well this afternoon. I am getting hungry now as well.
Maybe you were a chef in a previous life??
Supper was very good. Now I’m gonna assume the knit position and watch the Super Bowl Commercials.
**Taters **- how very sad! Sometimes life is so unfair.
I’m outta here - see you in the next edition!
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
Grocery shopped, watching the Superbowl.
Prayers sent, Taters.
doggio it ain’t a bad thing. It’s just that lately it seems to occupy a large chunk of my outside of irk time. MOOOOOOM maybe that’s it. I was a Sous Chef in a past life so in this life I get to be a Master Chef.
Shall we try the “next person to post starts us off tomorrow” gambit again?
Sure! Why not!
Oops.

[Nelson]Ha! Ha![/Nelson]
Nelson didn’t say “Ha Ha”, he said “England expects every man to do his duty” and “Get as close to the SOB as you can and kick his ass”, or something like that.
Jeez.
Wrong Nelson.
Tell that to the Brits, Trafalgar breath!
Bah! we beat 'em twice!
Ah.
So he can kick his ass.
Who also managed not to get himself shot to pieces while winning.
