So, basically, Alan Owes Bess and Aldebaran are simply the opposite sides (anti-Muslim/Muslim) of the same coin of unsubstantiated generalizations, each pushing their own agendas of hatred and ignorance.
I’m certainly not a brown noser fan of the dysfunctional psycho Alan Owes Bess.
As for what I thought of Collounsbury, well that’d take some research on your part, and the production of cites. I’ll come back when you’ve finished doing your homework.
You boldly stated that “The Guardian and The Independent are simply newspapers that routinely commit lies of commission or omission”.
You have provided one possible instance of such behaviour, from a highly dubious cite. Surely, all the right wing UK tabloids would have been all over this like flies on horseshit, had The Guardian “routinely” lied?
Don’t go bitching about wasting more than 5 minutes of your precious time researching this: don’t talk the talk if you’re not prepared to walk the walk. Your statement could not be substantiated. Be a man about it, ferchrissakes.
Back to the OP: anyone besides Aldebaran believe he actually has a doctorate in Arabic language? I ask this because of his rather laughable assertions made on this board about Linguistics issues.
I am surprised that so much ignorance on both sides of one issue being this close together didn’t start a stupidity chain reaction powerful enough to power a small city.
I guess it’s like that SciFi concept of matter-antimatter reactors, elf6c. But in this case, it’s not two antimatter entities; it’s two doesn’tmatter entities producing doesn’t work.
Getting back to the substance of your objection, namely that Iraq Body Count is a partisan site with dubious sources, I’d like to see you come up with an alternate and obviously, much lower, number of casualties from a source you consider trustworthy. I say “much lower,” because I take your objection to mean that their figures are much inflated to make the invaders look bad.
Please note that the following sources are already taken into account by the IBC as well as the fact that a low/high range is given – and my own usage of the lower estimate in the post you responded to:
