Adjusting time for mouse-over text

Firefox/3.5.7 Win 7.
Is there a way to adjust the time mouse-over text remains up?
It seems that there is too much to read many times and moving the cursor off then on also moves the text, I wind up spending too long just finding my place.

Is it possible to enlarge the font, larger letters would be much easier to read.

Thanks for your help!

I seem to recall there was an add-in for this - but I can’t find it now. I’ll look a little more.

I’ve been wondering this, too. I believe Google Chromium leaves up the text until you move your mouse, which is much better.

I asked this question years ago but didn’t really get any sort of an answer. Hopefully someone can come up with something this time, because it annoys me too!

There may be something about this in Firefox about:config. I didn’t look further. Google ~ about:config and go to knowledge base, I think, and there is a link in there for many options, features, whatever.

Found this in a quick search, though there might be others:

IIRC the problem has also been fixed in Firefox 3.6 release candidates, so in the future you won’t need an addon.

That worked, thanks Henrichek!

Hallelujah, Henrichek Thank you very much. Now I don’t even have to read the short ones twice, trying to beat the timeout.

Awesome find, Henrichek. I forget the details, but I believe the hover-over text USED to persist, and then some upgrade did away with it. I know I filed a bug report, and so did many others. For awhile, I received emails about test patches people were developing, but I never understood how to test them out myself. Then I dumped my ISP and stopped receiving updates.

This add-on is awesome (but really shouldn’t be necessary at all.) Thanks!

Is there a similar extension for Chrome users?

I agree, but as I said, the problem is fixed for Firefox 3.6 which is due to be released soon, and then the addon will be unnecessary as it should be. There is already a release candidate available that should be stable at this point, and it can be downloaded here:
