After it was pointed out to him that Hillary was never at 95%, he started arguing that 538 is wrong for publishing any percentages at all, because people might get the wrong idea. All statistics should be described as either “definitely will happen” or “toss-up”. It’s just impossible for someone to understand the difference between 50%, 75%, and 95%.

So yeah, it’s boring, because it’s asking for rationality from someone throwing a temper tantrum in this thread. No comment about other threads, although the historical documents were also quite similar in tenor.
I was honestly not even expecting a response to the request for retraction; I just wanted to pull the poster in question away from the “FiveThirtyEight decimated by Disney Layoffs” thread so we could continue to discuss that general issue instead of getting bogged down in @Aeschines’ misunderstanding of statistical forecasting and the string of sophomoric “Yo Mamma” jokes, which mostly worked. The wild gyrations about how people here were not responding in kind with sufficient interest to satisfy his pathetic need to be the center of attention was just a bonus sideshow of infantile trolling which I didn’t even anticipate.
