Ahsoka (trailer in OP, spoilers as series airs)

Kanan and Hera did, more than once, refer to Ezra and Sabine as “the kids.”

I am just passing by sort of invited by the OP to say: fulcrum.

Please ignore this interruption and go on.

Is there no episode this week? The last two weeks releases were on Tuesdays.

It should drop at 6 PM Pacific/7 mountain/8 central/9 eastern
Now that I’m done with Witcher season 3 I will likely wait until Friday

Brian

That was kind of eventful.

Rock 'em sock 'em robots.

Faceless mystery bad guy died as a faceless mook? (Also, might have been a demon from Supernatural?)

Sabine holding her own against wild-eyes?

The World Between Worlds?

Ha! I also thought of Rock’em Sock’em.

IT definitely was a trip and I was very happy to see familiar spacecraft  and faces again. Feel bad for the Rodian fighter pilot though. Those guys can’t catch a break! However it was very nice to see Paul Sun-Hyung Lee’s character again, he feels like a nice bit of connectiveness across the Filoni series. Kind of like Rosario Dawson’s character was for the Netflix Marvel series, heh heh.

Also amused for all the people that seemed to think Marrok would end up being a corrupted Ezra. I was also puzzled, despite seeing Rebels, until other fans pointed out he was most likely a Nightsisters-enhanced Nightbrother, similiar to Savage Opress. The green tint of the mist being the main clue.

That terrific head-tilt by Shin Hati when first confronting Sabine. Totally spoke of “Really?
After last time, you still think you have a chance?” And then Sabine’s fake-out of using the Force (or was it a genuine attempt?) throwing Shin off-guard, then surprising with wrist-blaster.

Finally I hope after all this buildup that the eventual Grand Admiral scenes pay off and do justice to the clever, menacing snake we saw from Rebels. I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if he has turned Ezra just a bit, for mutual survival, but this better not be another Kang in the Quantumverse situation. (instead of ants, it’ll be the ice spiders!) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The de-aging of Hayden Christianson looked a little too uncanny valley for me.

Because of timezone differences, I don’t get to see the episode until about six hours after release, when I get home from work, so I am very annoyed that I was seriously spoiled by a website article HEADLINE, no less, giving the surprise ending away. I couldn’t avoid it, it was pushed into my News Feed. Darn it all.

Yeah, I get early spoiler headlines in even my Google News feed sometimes. Some shows I have to watch as quickly as possible because of that.

Spoiler returning eventually was in the trailers, though, so maybe they didn’t think it was such a big deal.

I never bothered with the various animated series so can someone please spoil for me who the fark Ezra is? (and Sabine as well). As i’m not very familiar with Star Wars lore beyond the original trilogy and the prequals. Sabine seems pretty damn stupid and useless. I must be missing something in the context.

I read the Timothy Zahn novels decades ago so I know who Thrawn is at least.

Lol thanks but is there maybe a Cliffs Notes version of that?

Ezra= wily street kid who gets entangled with a rebel cell. Happens to be significantly Force sensitive. The rebel cell happens to include a Jedi who managed to escape Order 66 as a young man. He trains Ezra towards becoming a Jedi.

Sabine= Mandalorian from a prominent clan, once student at Imperial Academy. Brilliant weapons designer (you can’t much tell that from Ahsoka). Once weilder of the Darksaber. Originally trained in weilding it by the aforementioned Order 66-surviving Jedi.

Thank you!

Also, Ezra has a strong empathy with animals through the Force. In the conclusion of season four of Rebels (I can’t say the conclusion of Rebels anymore because this is pretty much Rebels season five) he leads the hyperspace space whales to destroy Thrawn’s fleet. Ezra and Thrawn are in a Star Destroyer that the whales surround and warp away. This happens to explain why there was no Thrawn and extra Jedi around during the OT.

“Hyperspace whales”?

The big animals seen flying over the planet in last week’s episode.

I enjoyed that episode. As I said upthread, I hadn’t seen Rebels (or much of the Clone Wars) and I’m following along OK. I watched the first two eps of Rebels this evening, and enjoyed them.

Loved the lightsaber battles - they had a strong Akira Kurosawa feel to them, going back to the series’ roots.

I think I figured out why I don’t love this show. I like it and wept like a baby at the end of this week’s (and narrowly avoided being spoiled myself. I can’t watch on Tuesday nights and I don’t like this scheduling nonsense).

Anyway, if this is the Ahsoka show, there is too much time being spent on Sabine and Hera, etc. I would prefer to see the wacky weekly adventures of grown up Snips. If it’s live-action Rebels, I want Zeb and see them all together more often. It feels like it’s torn between the two and I’m ok with it being either one, but not half of each.
