My take on spoilers:
Everything about the current and past episodes is open after an episode airs
(those of you who wait until all episodes are out and then binge will just have to stay out of the thread)
Speculation is open
Anything not officially announced about future episodes are blurred
I could go either way about next episode teasers (though I lean towards those being open)
This a bump to remind folks that season 2 premiers tomorrow. (and to avoid a dupe thread)
Not sure exactly when it drops, but I plan on watching around 1930 local (CDT)
My first prediction - it will get tons of 1 star reviews from people incensed that they’re dropping the episodes weekly instead of putting them all up at once, with absolutely no interest in whether the show itself was any good. Like “The Boys” season 2 did.
They did, but I do wish they’d give us 2-3 up front to get us back on board. I’ll watch weekly, though. I very much prefer getting everything up front, though.
Good episode. I enjoyed seeing the Sand People in a heroic and noble role, and the krayt dragon fight was well done. The dragon looked different than they’ve previously been portrayed - in the old EU, and the cartoons, they’re essentially western dragons, while this version was more like Shai-Hulud from Dune.
Temuera Morrison was listed in the credits, so I’m guessing that the bald, scarred loner we saw in the final scene is Boba Fett, who presumably escaped the Sarlacc pit when the dragon killed it, but lost his armor in the process for the Jawas to find. I assume he was probably also the unseen killer from the S1 episode on Tattooine.
I hope we see more of Cobb Vance - he plays the “old west sheriff” role well.
Cobb Vanth, and his backstory, was already described* in a novel that came out in 2015. It was an interesting choice to put him into live-action, but casting was of course perfect. Timothy Olyphant is, of course, the Eastwood of our generation.
In the previous episode set on Tatooine, they had Mos Eisley, the cantina, the Tusken Raiders, and Pit Droids. This time they capped it off with Banthas, the Krayt Dragon, a Sarlacc, Jawas, a Pod-Racer engine, and Mos Espa. The only thing left not referenced is Jabba the Hutt, who I assume will be able to appear in the Kenobi series.
*loosely, and not quite as shown, but close enough
You mean the boots and cloak we saw approaching Fennec Shand’s body? I don’t think he killed anyone. I’d kind of thought that might be Moff Gideon, myself.
Here’s the final scene of this episode - upon rewatching it, probably-Boba is carrying a gaffi stick and one of the Tusken long guns, and it looks like he’s wearing a Tusken robe. Perhaps he’s been living among them since the events of ROTJ.
Was that monster that tough that it was still sitting there and came out the top of the mountain or were there two of them? I thought they were looking at it when something came out of the mountain.
What was the pearl like thing they took out of the body? Was is supposed to be something special or just a pearl?
I’ve only every watched the movies, so anything else in-universe I don’t know about.
