Meh. I don’t keep bottles of explosives around, and I never dip my gum. 
I actually thought it might have been a malevolent act by a third party, or a mistake in manufacturing. Those would have made me paranoid.
Also, what does dipping gum in citric acid do, anyways?
I suspect it would just make it sour, kind of like a “Sour Patch Kid” gum effect.
